Donna was lovely, easy communication, and contactless entry. There was an A/C which was a great relief as it was over 90F when we arrived. Cabin was clean and comfortable, kids loved the bunkbeds. Stove and fridge were in nice working order, we do a lot of food prep in due to allergies. We used the cabin as a home base as we went out to hike and see natural beauty. Would recommend. Thank you.

We love staying at the cottage. Always clean and comfortable. In the woods but close to everything you could need. And the hosts are fantastic!

Our family had a wonderful time at this sweet cabin! It was cozy and was just what we needed after spending a day hiking. The location is beautiful! Donna and Steve were so warm, kind, and thoughtful! We loved it.

Was very homey, clean, everything we needed for a relaxing few days. The location was fabulous. The owners were nice enough to let us use a kayak to paddle around the beautiful lake. The bed was awesome, nice and firm! Would not hesitate to rent here again.

We had a great stay. The one floor layout was great with small kids and center conway is such a perfect spot to stay in the valley. We had a cozy fire one night and enjoyed being able to have our dog with us. The owners were communicative and very friendly when we saw them.

Beautiful location, very reasonable price, lots of amenities in the house. We had a lovely stay!

Driving distance to all sites we wanted to see. The Cog to Mt Washington, Kangamagus highway, and many spectacular views. Not far off the beaten path to the center of town which offers many eateries and specialty shops. Please note that the second bedroom is bunk beds. We were 2 sets of mature couples. Luckily there is a futon as none of us could do a top bunk. We would go there again

This property was great, off in the woods a step to the lake! So much to do, kayaking, hiking, just being a tourist, such a wonderful experience, thanks for listing this gorgeous place! Would definitely recommend!

Great getaway for the weekend. The cabin was as described and close to a beautiful lake. The place was quite close to all the attractions but was excluded just enough to disconnect. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

My wife and I were very pleased with the property, the Host, and entire process. I had a very relaxed, peaceful, and quiet 3 days for my 74th birthday.

Everything about our stay at Overlook exceeded expectations! We arrived to a clean, warm and comfortable cottage, a welcome basket of treats, and made ourselves quickly at home with a crackling fire. Donna and Steve answered questions quickly, were super accommodating, generous to share their skating and sledding areas with us, and kindly shared ideas about the area! We could not have found a more perfect winter retreat for our family! Close to Cranmore/No Conway, yet far enough away to retreat from the hustle!

Boyfriend and I have been wanting to get up to New Hampshire for awhile now. We took full advantage of Veterans Day weekend and found this lovely cabin that accepts dogs. Donna was great and responded in a prompt manner. It was easy finding the cabin and the check in process was a breeze. The cabin is true to what the pictures show. Very cozy. Love the throwbacks to the past including a VCR player and lots of board games. The cabin has everything you would need. It rained a lot during our trip but it was wonderful having the fireplace. There was a nice little backyard and neighborhood to walk our dog and you are so close to North Conway and all that has to offer. There was no WiFi which at times was annoying for me because I didn’t have service but the point was to unplug and we did just that. 1000% use this cabin if you’re looking to get up to Conway. We will definitely try to come back, maybe in the summer so we can use the lake more. Thanks Donna, we had an awesome time!

We enjoyed our time staying at Donna's home. It was quite comfortable with most amenities provided. Without wifi, the Internet was fairly limited (poor cell phone signal). But nicely located and well furnished. Thank you, Donna!

We had a nice stay, everything was as advertised in the listing. Good setup for a couple with a few kids. Appreciated the pack and play and booster seat. We just used it as a jumping off point for storyland and hiking, so we didn’t see the beach/lake, but it met all our expectations.

I rented this cabin for my mom & aunt who are in their 80s and my sister in her 60s. I & my other siblings rented places in Conway for their familes as well the same week. My mom, aunt and sister were looking forward to spending time at a secluded cabin in the woods and on the lake as well as having me & my siblings over to visit. Pro: Donna was wonderful to interact with ahead of time and said that they could borrow her kayak and have direct access to the lake. She also let me know her family would be using the main house for the beginning part of the week. Con: Several interactions during the stay with Donna's husband who was not as welcoming and accomodating. Pro: The cabin was just as they'd imagined, all wood, with a screened in porch, cozy, clean and stocked with beach chairs, games, books, even candy and dog biscuits, a nice touch. Cons: The cabin is not in the woods per se. It is in a neighborhood located behind a large house where the Gillis family was staying, within a neighborhood of even larger houses that are part of an association. There were rules imposed by the owners, neighbors, and association about parking (only 2 cars allowed & no street parking) and lake access (no swimming allowed even when the main house was unoccupied). The walk to the public beach in the heat was tougher than expected for this elderly trio. Due to the lack of parking it was not really possible to host the family here, and our gatherings had to happen at the other rentals. We did have one afternoon game session but were told by the owner parking more than two cars would not be allowed in the future. Pro: Convenient Conway location just minutes drive from the siblings. Being able to put in kayaks right from the house was much appreciated and the best part of the stay. As far as suggestions for the host, I'd make the cabin location and parking & lake access rules a bit more clear in the description and photos. The cabin is set fairly far back from the lake; it would be good to replace the 3 photos of the lake taken from the beachfront in front of the main house with instead one showing the view from the porch of the cabin which overlooks the main house and has a glimpse of the lake.

The location was great. Off the main drag and close to everything. Cabin was fairly spacious and owner granted us use of their dock and kayak. Only a few issues while there. Many of the glasses and dishes were dirty but that was minor. The only suggestion I could make is to install a small AC unit at least for the summer month because it was quite hot in the cabin even with the windows open and fans going. All in all though, it was a great trip and a fun stay. Being dog friendly was a great plus as well.

Really enjoyed the location, hosts were excellent and would definitely stay at Overlook again.

This was an amazing property for a nice hiking and beach trip for our family of 4. My husband, toddler, dog and I had an amazing time!

After a 6 hour drive, pulling into the cottage was immediatley a warm/ welcoming feeling. Although we had the intention it was a bit more private it was still perfect! When we walked inside it felt like home and the longer we stayed the more we didn't want to leave! It is the perfect little place with incredible views all around everywhere you go. We had an amazing experience. I loved the little book left to write in. It was such a special touch and made the experience more personable. It so sweet reading what a good time other families are able to have as well. This cottage definitely holds alot of great memories with alot of families! 100% recommended! :)
