Great find on Mersea island

A small but perfectly formed room in a great location - some lovely extra touches too. The host was very friendly, quick to respond and very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Relaxing break

The Nook was very cosy, clean.and quiet. The addition of a tea tray, crockery and a fridge was a nice touch as we're the toiletries. Close to shops and beach. West Mersea is a lovely place.

We couldn't close the bathroom door as it was so heavy and appeared to be stuck. The shower was difficult to adjust. The temperature kept fluctuating between extremely hot and cold.

Book The Nook, by hook or by crook.

Very well appointed cosy accommodation in a comfortable, luxury chalet style. As well as being thoughtfully curated by a great host who gave us helpful local recommendations such as where to breakfast, the secluded garden setting is perfect. We loved watching bats feeding around the trees outside the window and really did relax and switch off from the world, yet it is within easy reach of everything you might wish to access in West Mersea. Given the size of The Nook, we were impressed by the use of space and all the amenities and extra touches provided. Thank you Simon for the delightfully cool and refreshing welcome gift that you left outside after our arrival - a really lovely touch, most especially in a rainstorm.

Bed was just a touch too soft for my liking but perfectly comfortable for a 2 night stay. The sliding bathroom door got stuck & was almost impossible to open from the inside so that could be potentially difficult.

Disappointing

The Nook was centrally located in West Mersea.

The bed was so saggy that we both had sore backs for a few days afterwards. The television screen was very dark - hard to see at times and couldn't figure out how to correct it. The sliding wood door to the bathroom was heavy and not on rails - took a lot of effort to open and close

Overnight stay at the Nook

The nook was small warm and comfortable. It was perfect for our overnight stay.

A lovely stay at the Nook

Everything was as we expected and the photos of the apartment were exactly as it was. Very comfortable and super clean, had everything we needed. Also to receive a suprise bottle of proseco was an added treat. Thank you

Perfect little getaway

We loved our stay at the Nook. We were visiting Mersea Island to attend a wedding at the vineyard and the Nook was a perfect little place to rest our heads the night before and after. Very clean, very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities which is always appreciated. We hope to return another time to explore more of mersea Island. Thank you for having us.

if need somewhere to stay just for the night it’s perfect

i liked the fact we had cutlery and plates to use for a take away.

not really anything bad to say about the property, the tv kept playing up but that’s probably due to reception point of views.

Lovely clean comfortable room with everything you could want.

Location excellent lovely and peaceful . Hosts were very accommodating and the glass of bubbly was a lovely surprise and such a nice thoughtful gesture.

Comfy stay in Mersea

Location very good. Easy parking. Very clean and fresh.

Poor Wi-Fi. Sliding door to bathroom looked stylish but was very awkward to open especially from the inside.

Nice property, good location. Comfortable.

The communication with the hosts was slow and ineffective. I requested early check-in due to the timing of the wedding we were attending and there were lengthy delays in responding. I was told the owner was liaising with the cleaner to see if it was possible, but when I arrived, the room was dirty and the cleaner was unwelcoming, saying that I'm not supposed to be there earlier; she had not been asked about a possible early check-in. The hosts never came back with an answer.

Superb

Beautiful self contained annex. Lovely comfy bed and great bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee. Also the bottle of water was a nice touch. The proprietor couldn't have been more helpful. All in all a great place. Would love to bring my wife for a longer stay

Great location. Just 5 mins from the coast, shops, restaurants, etc. Very quiet area. Easy parking. Private entrance.

Bathroom sliding door was heavy and stiff - not a major problem but annoying.

Lovely and quiet. Extremely clean and private. Very relaxing place to stay. Will definitely book again. Thoughful facilities including books about the local area and a pack of cards! Nice to have an outside area.
