We loved the location and the condo!

We have stayed at the Mana Kai multiple times in various units. We love the location! The view is amazing. 808 deli is on the main floor, they offer delish salads, paninis, wraps as well as grocery items. This unit was clean and maintained. It had plenty of kitchen supplies. We would stay there again.

We have stayed in this unit more than once. It is well-equipped and very comfortable. The management company was excellent at communicating with us, and the views are fantastic!

But then...Arrived to our overly warm unit to discover that the only A/C was a window unit in the back bedroom! Ceiling fans were only effective in moving the warm air around, and since day temps were 86-90, having the patio doors open were only helpful at night. When phoning guest relations, and also revisiting online reviews of this unit, we learned that this was a known issue, but had not noticed that detail prior to reserving. Never has this been an issue in any of the other Mana Kai units we’ve stayed in. The unit was otherwise clean, but the only updates were new bedding, newer sofa, and nice TV’s. The rest of the unit was very tired, deck furniture very old with bird droppings. The $250 cleaning fee was only for cleaning upon our departure of 11 days. Our prior stays at Mana Kai were much better, and we will be back. But we won’t recommend this unit, and will be far more attentive to photos and reviews (which we thought we’d done) when returning.

The property was great and the beach was away from busy touristy hotels. Perfect location and walking from local shops and food. Could use some maintenance on the AC unit as it was not blowing cold air.

You can't do much better on Maui for location.That said, when considering value, Mana Kai is an older property and is undergoing a lot of renovations. It's on its way to returning to its original glory, but guests should keep in mind when figuring value that it's not perfect. There was a lot of construction going on while we visited. The store, restaurant, and fitness gym were all closed, the basement is under renovation (fitness gym and yoga room), many condo units are being renovated and can be loud near them, and the water was shut off for an entire night. The unit itself could also use some updating, but it has everything you need and is very clean. The write-up and pictures are accurate and you'll spend most of your time looking out on that view.The noted inconveniences didn't affect us, so no complaints, but might be considerations for others. The positives of Mana Kai far outweigh any negatives. The on-site staff was friendly and great; the lobby, pool and other facilities are beautiful, excellent options for renting beach toys from the on-site rental company (boards/kayaks/snorkels/etc). Highly recommend and hope to return soon.

The view and lanai make this the dream condo for your next visit to Maui. We comfortably fit 4 adults and didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Amazing location. Unit comes with multiple beach chairs which is a huge plus. Would highly recommend.

Great stay. Best beach view from 8th floor room. Property under construction now only one elevator working. Restaurant is being redone so not operational and the mini store also closed for renovations. Our AC unit didn't work well but only 2 days were hot. Great breezes cool you off. 😎

The location and view from this place are amazing. The building is very nice, and the staff is kind and helpful. I give the staff, beach, and ocean view a 5 star review! However, there were a few surprises that were disappointing. First, the AC unit does not work AT ALL. We thought this issue would be fixed by our trip because the rental company said a new one was being installed in response to previous bad reviews. We have a digital room thermometer, and the AC, which is in a small bedroom that should cool easily, never dropped the temperature below 80 degrees by the time we went to bed (even after running it 24 hours multiple times to see if it would work). Also, the instructions for the rental say that you are not allowed to set the AC below 70 degrees to avoid breaking the unit. It's a moot point because it doesn't work at all anyway. Second, the supplies are very stingy in this unit. Upon arrival, we found 6 rolls of toilet paper for 4 adults for 4 weeks. They did end us giving us a bit more 2 days after telling us we had to buy our own (so we had already gone out and purchased it), but be prepared to purchase all the basic supplies that you would expect to be provided for your stay: toilet paper, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, paper towels, soap, toiletries, etc. They provide what they call a "starter kit," and then you have to purchase your own. I have never before stayed at a place that is so stingy with supplies, which is surprising because this is the most expensive rental I've booked by far. They provide 1 beach towel and chair per person but no other beach equipment like an umbrella, cooler, etc. Again, we had a great stay because we still loved the location and people, but we heard from a number of people who live in the building that this apartment is pretty out of date compared to the other units. I'd say to book a different room if you want to stay in this building.

This condo is a slice of paradise. The views from the unit are spectacular and peaceful. We enjoyed watching whales from our lanai and listening to the waves day and night. The unit was very comfortable and provided all that we wanted, with one exception. There was no air conditioning. This was rather disappointing. The listing information on the unit indicated that there was AC. There was a window unit in the guest bedroom that did not work. There was no AC at all in the living areas or primary bedroom area. There are ceiling fans in each living space which made the unit sufficiently comfortable. Fortunately during our stay the outside temperatures were moderate.

The only problem was the rental company not calling back for 2 days after leaving a message that we had to use most of the towels to clean up the floor from the storm. After they knew about the towel shortage they were very quick in replacing them. I would recommend this unit and would stay here again.

805 is a great unit at the Mana Kai. It does not have the updates the other units we have stayed in here (finishes, A/C, furnishings), but still nice and clean with everything you need to be comfortable in the unit. Easy access to the beach, restaurants and good information and compliance everywhere on the resort property.

La vista es la que observas en las fotos, está hermoso y hay mucha fauna ahí mismo en la sección de playa del condominio; está muy limpio el lugar, muy cómodas las habitaciones, con excepción de que la B no tiene aire acondicionado, si sufres con el calor la habitación A es la opción. The location is breathtaking. The room had a few cleaning problems but housekeeping Came right away to fix the problems. Unit Could use updating and there was only AC in guest room. The view made up for these things. Great snorkeling right On site, many fish and saw 2 sea turtles Within 1 hour!

Nice location since we stayed there before. The fridge didn’t work well. Our food went bad because it wasn’t cold enough. I had to throw away few things. I called at Saturday night (July 17) to leave a message about the fridge, nobody got back to me. I finally put everything in the freezer which was only cold, not the freezing temp. I wish they stocked more shampoo and conditioner. Considering the whole week stay with only 1 small bottle of each are not enough. No extra bath towels and beach towels either. You either use them for the whole week or wash them yourself. Those little things don’t cost much but they will make guests feel good. Just my opinion. Overall it was a nice stay for us.

The rental shop, restaurant and mini store are located on the property. There is a Yoga studio that we took a class from and it was amazing! I highly recommend making time to do at least one class. The pool is a nice change from all day at the beach. We love the grass area for the kiddos. The unit was comfortable and had everything we needed for a 10 day stay. Pans, dishes, glassware, kitchen ware were plentiful. Each evening we went to sleep with the doors open to let in the ocean breeze, it was lovely! My only suggestion would be that housekeeping should be part of the price for a 10 days stay. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay!

The location and beach access were great. Room and building were well maintained and clean. Parking was not ideal. Even with a reserved spot the parking was tight and on several occasions someone had parked in our spot.

The beach views are great on both sides of the building. The only issue we had was with the fact that there is no AC in the front kitchen/dining room/bed area. There is AC in the back bedroom. It is worth noting that it never got too hot for us, and opening the doors really got a draft going but the fact is that there isn't AC in the whole condo. If you're okay with that then this place is recommended. We would stay here again.
