No heating other than a small log burner and as it was September it was cold from midday onwards. The "miniscule" tube heater in the hall, to our knowledge never came on, ditto with the bathroom heater. The cottage had very little pressure in the water system. Our greatest issue was in finding the location as all we originally had was a Booking .com email with no address/post code to validate the address. On arrival we spent over 2 hrs driving around asking people, finally speaking to a kind lady who knew of Pannanich cottage and found the post code online. We contacted the owners the following day and they stated it was a Booking .com at fault which had happened before. This could have all been alleviated if the email sent by Booking .com had arrived to me prior to setting off , as we had no internet on arrival These are not complaints but observations, in summer it would have been ideal, Ballater is after all, reputedly the coldest place in Scotland. Overall the cottage was central and comfortable and we had an enjoyable stay, thankyou. Quirkly the house next door (no 4) had heating, water pressure was no problem and an abundance of logs for the log burner, not to mention "Internet". They were catered for by " AIR B&B".

The cottage is central to Ballater, well presented and very accessible. We really enjoyed our stay.

I would say there are a couple of minor improvements that could be made, but they didn't distract from us having a lovely stay. The mattress was very soft, there was no table so both breakfast and dinner had to be eaten from a tray on our knees and I think we were missing an email as we didn't receive any instructions on how to get into the property, however this was easily resolved by ringing the host who was very helpful.

The cleanliness, comfort and location were excellent....1-minute walk to the Co-Op, restaurants and bars! There were unexpected facilities like the use of two bikes, outdoor rug and rucksack, disposable roasting trays, and binoculars!

There were only two slight negatives (but did not spoil our stay) - the code for the key-lock box given to us through Booking.com was not the correct code ...but the host was available within minutes to sort it for us and give us the correct code. And there was no wi-fi, which would have been useful, though not essential.

Loved this cottage, very central. Very well equipped with everything we needed, lovely and clean. Comfortable and cosy. Would highly recommend it.

Excellent 1 bed house in the heart of Ballater, very clean and comfortable. Everything beautifully clean and everything you might need has been thought of. Outdoor space a bonus.
