Great place to stay, little village is historic and the hotel was top class

Amazing restaurant and pub. Very vriendly waiter.
Very unfriendly and unengaging staff. Felt as if I bothered them by checking in and checking out. And there was loud music till 12am from the bar downstairs. So you could not sleep at all.
And the houskeeping just burst into the room at 09:40 and then again at 10:00. But checkout is only at 11:00. So why not just allow me to shower in peace and use the facilities I paid for?

Staff were incredibly friendly. The inn has a unique culture of its own. The food was fantastic, the traditional pub grill style.
WiFi was inconsistent, and they have different access point names throughout the establishment instead of repeating the same connection. The WiFi configuration requires multiple password and not all of them are know by the staff. The food was amazing except the spinach was gritty. Perhaps not washed thoroughly. Other than that I would recommend a stay at the historical pig and whistle to any traveller passing through Bathurst. There is a great coffee shop around the corner called that coffee place. Note the location of the inn is on the main road through Bathurst and there can be traffic passing through that may disturb the peace at times.

The Pig & Whistle is part of the history of the area. Although not historians, we appreciated the area, through which we enjoyed a 2+ hour walk.
Great little coffee shop just around the corner which serves a superb breakfast - highly recommended

Owner of this establishment is very hands on - from booking in to booking out she was present. Really a pleasant experience to stay in such a historic place. Food was excellent, staff was very friendly and they know what customer care is.
The load shedding and the absence of an air conditioner in summer. I know it is not a 5 star hotel, but might be an option for the future

The bar was nice, the food was good but it did take a while to get our order. Really like our rooms and we the beds were comfy!
The parking situation isn’t stellar, just finished a 10 hour drive and I’m not even halfway to my boot before there’s a whole flock of car guards staring over my shoulder, and they continue to harass you through out the night, if you’re staying over, make sure you got everything in one trip!

The old feel of the historical building and the resident in-house ghost.
We were not told before hand that there wouldn't be any water in the morning due to load shedding and only once we had been shown to room advised TV wasn't working, otherwise it was a pleasant 1 night stay.
