Worst place we ever stayed

Where to start? We booked the property for a couple of our employees to stay while they were working in Grantham. They wanted to have a few home conforts while staying away but how wrong could they be. We had reams of forms to fill in online and had to upload ID and a copy of the card we had paid with on booking.com, before arrival. The house is not unique or exclusive; but it was filthy and rundown. It is the middle of a housing estate and you park at the rear. You are greeted by a bright blue garage door and a tatty bit of land maskerading as a garden. The back door was smeared in dirt and the property had not been cleaned in a very long time. There were smashed sockets, dirty marks all over the walls, the bathroom was full of mould and the floor was filthy, the toilet hadn't been cleaned, the crockery was covered in grease, the kitchen tops were worn and even the table mats were curled at the edges. The TV didnt get signal as the aerial (the sort you use in a caravan) was hanging off the fence at the front, where you had a view of a burned out house over the way. The patterned cushions on the beds which you see online were covered in stains, but the only saving grace was the bedding was wrapped in cellophane. It looked like something out of Shameless. It ranked as the worst place they had ever stayed. Needless to stay they left. We complained to the property company who told us we were being "judgemental" and they couldn't see anything wrong and refused to refund us. They also implied I should have checked it out more thoroughly before booking as we had the address, so get yourself on Google Street View and look for the blue garage. They also had the cheek to take £500 damage deposit from our account. I have lodged a complaint with booking.com. and the property company said we hadnt been in touch and they knew nothing about our complaint! Do yourself a favour, avoid all the hassle and don't book it in the first place.
