This property is amazing. Very close to the national park, the host is great and is great to talk to. The breakfast and dinner that is provided is traditional Sri Lankan food and dinner is eaten under candlelight, which is an amazing experience. The safari experience was great also and good value. Couldn’t recommend this place more

The room is simple but does the job

Our experience at Wildhideaway Wilpattu was the highlight of our Srilanka trip. It is an amazing experience. Situated right on the edge of Wilpattu National park these minimalist cottages provide an authentic feeling of oneness with nature. The srilankan cuisine served every evening was a curated menu of traditional Srilankan dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Served under the starlight the lantern lit dinners were highly enjoyable and very relaxing. The main reason we would always choose wildhideaway wilpattu to stay and safari with is its owner Mr Anto. His inimitable passion and dedication towards wildlife and photography is inspiring. He keeps himself aware on the animal sightings to give those who safari with him a greater chance of of catching a glimpse of these majestic creatures. On our safari we saw, leopards, elephant, sloth bear, hyena, python, crocodile and several others. The stay was simple comfortable. The rooms have been thoughtfully and sustainably designed. Tea and breakfast can be had while relaxing on the verandah. The stay at Wildhideaway Wilpattu taste of the raw beauty of Srilankan wilderness the memories will last us a lifetime.

The accomodation is really close to Wilpattu national park. The owner of the place and the whole staff are superb. They can cook exceptional dinner for you with local flavours. They also organize full day safaris with a really enthusiastic staff for a good price (the owner of the place is a pro photographer so they are a really good option for safari if you would like to do some wildlife photography). The safari car is a jeep which is a better alternative than a pickup according to me. Of course it is not a luxury accomodation but has really good value/money ratio.

Anton was an absolute star throughout our whole stay (as was the chef who cooked such delicious food)! We went on the half-day safari and Anton’s professionalism , friendliness, knowledge, and passion for nature and the animals made for an unforgettable experience! We felt very comfortable at the Wildhideaway and would thoroughly recommend staying here and going on their safari!

We loved our stay at wildhideaway, the food was really nice and served under the stars. We also went on the full day safari, this was perfectly arranged with breakfast and lunch. We saw a lot of animals and the host shared details about the animals. We really recommend the accommodation and safari, you will get the most friendly and warm care from Anta, he will make sure you will have a wonderful time!

Such a beautiful quiet place perfect for the night before your safari! Would definitely recommend going with wildhideaway for your Safari! Definitely opt for supper we ate by candle light and was so amazing seeing all the stars !

Myself, my wife & our 1 year old daughter had a great time staying with Anta at his Wildhideaway lodge. The lodge has a rustic charm to it which is befitting for its location & purpose. Anta also provides a brilliant safari as he is so knowledgeable of the park & where its remarkable wildlife is. We did two half-day safaris & saw all the ‘big 5’ of Sri Lanka! We loved the care & attention he gave our 1 year old too & we were treated to some delicious home cooked food with a candlelight dinner under the stars. If you’re looking for an authentic experience when you’re in Wilpattu then this is the place for you!

The hotel is simple but clean and comfy and, most importantly, offers a really good safari. The owner is a photographer and shares amazing shots of all the animals you’ll see. He speaks great English and has a lot of knowledge about the park. Highly recommend taking a half day safari with him. After the safari its nice to come back to a warm shower, comfy bed and lovely dinner in a candlelit garden.

Best value in Wilpattu, guide and owner is very attentative and organized. He is an avid photographer and leopard seeker. We did a full day and half day safari. This was the highlight of the trip and ended up seeing 3 leopards and a sloth bear thanks to their patience and skills. Not to mention candle lit dinners every night.

The perfect location to stay if you are in for a Safari in Wilpattu NP. Hi Almost next to the entrance. We recommend to book a day tour in the park with the owner of the lodge. Anta is a super host and a super tour guide and can tell a lot about the wildlife and the park. The lunch and breakfast in the jeep were excellent. On your return you will be treated to a delicious 3-course meal in a romantic setting in the garden. Always different and very tasty. Just a big THANK YOU!

Host is extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The dinner was really cool thanks to the chef and host did everything to accommodate us and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Anta is really passionate about nature and guided us through the full day safari tour which was awesome as we were able to see many animals including 3 leopards. the property is 10mn from national park, has AC, and is located in the middle of nature near the road + there is an access to a huge lake just behind the property field with birds and animals

Owner was great. We arrived pretty late. They were flexibel and stayed up late to make is a private dinner. It was really cozy. The day after they provided a really cool Safari in the park.

Perfect stay with super friendly owner, chef, and guide. They are passionate about the wildlife and super knowledgeable, very helpful and flexible. We saw tons of wildlife (I recommend doing at least two days in the park if possible, there is a lot to see) including a leopard and sloth bear, wonderful! Thank you so much!

We had a great stay. the location is very close to the main entrance of the national park. The rooms are practically furnished - hot water and wifi worked good. The food was great, freshly prepared every time (they even organized a cake for my birthday 🙂). We had a full day safari. Great experience - they really try to find the animals and know their job.

Perfect hosts and very caring. Rooms were clean, WiFi worked great and the Safari was amazing. Anta is super kind and helped me with everything and has a lot of knowledge of the animals and the park. Food was great and freshly prepared for every meal. On the safari they made gave everything for me to see all the animals and I did. Bonus: Anta has an amazing camera and sent me pictures of the animals that we saw. I loved it there and will recommend to everyone to stay there!
