We have been vacationing on Topsail Island every summer for over 30 years and Nauti Surf Shack is the nicest home we have stayed at on Topsail by far! The owners, Beth and Ken, are very friendly and were responsive to any questions we had, making us feel like our vacation was their highest concern. They even generously offered to let us change our stay by a day because of Tropical Storm Ophelia, which hit the day we arrived. Thankfully, there were no issues with the storm, and we had sun the rest of the week. Their home is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated – it is definitely more than a beach house! Although it is a piano key home, there are beautiful ocean views and easy access to the beach. September was a perfect time to visit Topsail – we usually come in July – and we will be back to the Nauti Surf Shack again. We had some family who live in NC visit for a couple of days and they all raved about how nice NSS is. Thanks Beth and Ken for sharing your beautiful home with us - I give it a rating of 10!

Cute property very well kept. Good views of ocean and just steps away. Nicely decorated and linen service a great bonus. Excellent communication with owners! This house would be wonderful for big families. As a pet owner I appreciated gates on the deck so they could snooze outside.

You can tell from the moment you arrive this is a well cared for home not a rental asset controled by a big company somewhere far far away. The owners are amazing and communication was fantastic. This house was actually clean not just tidy and trsh out but actually clean!
This is one of the few places I can say id gladly rent again and refer others to.

So many good things to say, but I will start with the amazing owners, Beth and Ken! Their communication is 5 star, and they truly have thought of everything their guests could possibly want in a beach home/beach vacation. My husband and I travel extensively and have high expectations; Nauti Surf Shack exceeded them all. The house was very clean and well appointed and had every amenity Surf City vacationers would appreciate--a great layout, gorgeous views, easy beach access, comfy beds, and close proximity to everything. We've stayed on the beach a number of times, and this ranks tops as a definite "return trip" VRBO! Thanks, Beth and Ken, for a wonderful week on the Atlantic!

Pretty house with lots of room. Very clean. Owner is very quick to answer questions. Short walk to the beach with wasn’t crowded. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay at the nauti surf shack. It’s at the end of a dead end street so it’s very quiet and just a short walk down the boardwalk to the beach. Only a mile from the center of surf city and all the shops/restaurants. Everything was clean with everything we needed for a great stay.

My family had a wonderful time in Surf City. The house was just as it was described and it was perfect for us! It was in a great location and very easy to get to the beach. We hope to enjoy another family vacation there again soon.

Ken and Beth were excellent hosts and we loved their house! What a lovely house with great ocean views and steps from the beach! Excellent seating options, indoors and on the deck. We absolutely loved the “puzzle” table with an ocean view! The beds where super comfy. It definitely seemed more like a home than a rental. Kitchen was well stocked and it was such a welcome convenience to have the basics supplied!!! We would absolutely rent again! Thank you, Ken and Beth

The advertisement pictures do it justice! Wonderful location with everything you would need to have fun at the beach. Private beach access was nice, too. Would definitely come back again!

This house in Surf City is in a wonderful location at the end of a street. Very private and quiet. Even though there are two houses in front of you, there is still a great view to the ocean and the sounds of the waves are so relaxing. The property managers were so accommodating and easy to work with. They responded quickly to every question/request! The house is so very comfortable and has a very well stocked kitchen! This is our second year staying here and we would recommend it to all of our friends and family. Within walking distance (1 mile) to the Surf City Pier and local restaurants!!

This property was great for our group of 8. Hosts were on top of everything , the description is perfect, the couches and beds were super comfy, the distance to beach is so short and easy, everything was just perfect. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. You do get ocean views and even with being a “row in” from the beach the breezes were perfect.

This was our family's first time to Surf City and we absolutely loved it! The beach was a quick walk from the house - the walkway was conveniently located right off the deck. The house offered great "hang out" space with a kitchen that opened up into the living room - plenty of seating for everyone in our group! There was also lots of space out on the deck too with rocking chairs and a picnic table. Each bedroom has sliding door access to the deck which gave every room a line of sight to the beach. Even though the house is the 3rd back from the beach, you could still see the ocean from most areas and it doesn't feel far! The house was well stocked with cookware, utensils, plates and cups (which was important for us because we cook a lot of meals). The house is located at the end of a road which is nice because there is almost no traffic. There is a large condominium property next door, but we had no issue with this - there is a fence in between the house and the other property, there was plenty of space out on the beach and we didn't have any noise issues. This house is a great find and our whole family would highly recommend!

Fantastic house steps from the beach for a large group
We had a wonderful stay at the Nauti Surf Shack. It’s less than 50 ft down an attached walkway to the beach. We had children of all ages and multiple families with us. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and the great room was perfect for gathering or game night. The decks are perfect for morning coffee, dinner, or just to stare at the waves. They also have gates which was great for our dog to sun bath and to keep the little ones in. The owner was very responsive and friendly. Decor is all tasteful, comfortable beds, and well stocked house. Outdoor shower and lower deck area were perfect to unload after the beach. The beach was never crowded, had the same 5-6 families around us the whole week. We’ve stayed at several houses on Topsail and this is the top one. You won’t regret booking.

While in Surf City, get some fresh seafood at the market, check out Nunzio's pizza, ride a bike, visit Unwined, walk down the pier, check out Herring's, Shaka Taco is the BOMB, walk on the boardwalks, visit the Turtle Hospital (make a reservation), find some shark teeth - just enjoy!

Great stay for a family with a toddler
The perfect beach house, affordable and while not technically beachfront the porch’s all have excellent views. Boardwalk for beach access is right next to the house and very convenient. Beach houses being taller by necessity make unpacking a workout but if you anticipate it it’s not a problem. Lastly, we had a toddler with us and the outdoor shower being heated and the bunk beds were both huge hits. Owner is amazingly responsive, I doubt I ever waited more than a few hours for a message and typically it was within minutes. Can’t wait to stay here again.

They especially loved the bright windows to look out and watch beach-goers walking by. Kathy was incredible to work with, the ideal host in all ways. We had no issues with the property, everything worked as expected. The beach access was easy and short, the porch off the top level was our main gathering place as there was so much seating provided. The beach itself was a little more crowded than we prefer but it's due to the location of the house and also the week that we were visiting. All around - fantastic vacation and we are so grateful!
