This property is so peaceful, gorgeous and relaxing! So close to everything, yet you feel like your away from it all. The house is well stocked, with all the modern convenient taken into account and the view was awesome.

What a wonderful place to stay! I cannot say enough good things about this cottage and the absolutely breathtaking land around it. My husband and I (and our dogs) stayed here for a weekend and had the most relaxing stay. The house was clean and well stocked and perfect for our dogs. The views out of the floor to ceiling windows were spectacular and we took full advantage of the trails that were right outside the house. Our dogs had a blast swimming in the pond! The owners were so welcoming, both before and during our stay, and were extremely responsive to any questions or concerns we had while staying at the cottage. Within the first couple hours, we were already planning the best time to come back again. Thank you Trey, Jeffrey, Basil, and George for sharing such a wonderful place!

Nice, small house for 4 adults! Comfortable beds, good sheets and pillows. Kitchen has everything you need. Medium drive from Anderson Valley wineries, but definitely doable, and it’s nicely remote in the evening. Check-in and checkout were the easiest we’ve had on Vrbo (in 10+ years of renting).

The house is a perfect combination of modern touches, efficiency, and comfort. Everything is so thoughtfully appointed and it may be the most well stocked kitchen of any rental house where we have stayed. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and hiking around the ranch for a couple of days before we mustered up the will to go into town and encounter people again. The property is spacious and beautiful. Our dog enjoyed it so much that I think he's depressed we came home.

My husband and I spent a relaxing holiday week at Dogwood and would go back in a heartbeat. Jeff and Trey are terrific hosts and go above and beyond to ensure guests have what they need. They provide clear instructions about the property ahead of time and helpful recommendations to maximize your stay, whatever your interest. The pictures of the property are great and it is even better in person: clean and spacious, with a chef's kitchen and a bottle of bubbly waiting in the fridge. It has excellent internet connectivity, a cozy fireplace and jumbo tvs should you find yourself with a rainy (snowy!) day or two like we did. The property is fenced and our dog had the best time running around, and the walk from the house to the main gate is just long enough should you need a walk/run before heading out to Boonville and beyond. Dogwood Cottage is one of the best of the many VRBO properties that we've stayed in over the years. Thanks again, Jeff and Trey!

It was an absolute beautiful stay. The hosts were so communicative and helpful. They have a very well stocked abode and really care about making sure you have a good experience. The sunrises were majestic, the occasional acorn dropping on the roof was whimsical and the location is heavenly. The only recommendation I would make is to have window coverings for the master bath, as the area outside is a shared space, so just be sure to let everyone know when your taking a shower/bath as they are exposed. I have zero stars for checking in because of VRBO failing to send me the check in information, this was not the hosts fault. The hosts are marvelous.

This is our third time staying at the property and will not be our last. Such a peaceful location and plenty of fenced property for our golden retriever to wander. Wineries and restaurants are a short drive away if you want to include those in your itinerary, but the property is also perfect for getting away from civilization and enjoying some peace, quiet and a sky full of stars.

Large windows with views of oaks, madrones, and little valleys with a cute pond. Seems to be completely fenced in—so we will bring our dog next time for sure. Just 15” to Ukiah and should be fairly easy to Boonville although with the ‘bomb cyclone” we mostly hunkered down and very much enjoyed ourselves in place. If you are looking for a relaxing, clean place to stay, away from it all, this is the place. Except for a drive into Philo for 2 wine tastings, we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of Dogwood. “Highly Recommend” and “Excellent Space” reviews below are very accurate and much more concise. We have rented a fair amount of VRBO homes, and this was the cleanest, best stocked in the kitchen (cooking utensils and paper goods) that I have stayed in. Things I always travel with (foil, napkins, saran wrap, paper towels) one would not run out of while staying at Dogwood, as we have at other homes. The tubs were very tempting, but with the water shortage I couldn’t bring myself to use them (I did save a lizard in the jacuzzi). Pictures show exactly what you get and it was worth it. We changed our coffee drinking seat every morning, finally ending up outside at 7am, as the animals started making their noises. Traveling light, we couldn’t begin to fill up the large master bedroom closets (even had a shoe rack), but we did use a drawer for our kitchen dry goods. The bedroom black out curtains did their job well, as you could feel the heat when you walked by them to get to the patio. We closed the house up in the afternoon and the air conditioner worked great, until it cooled down outside in the evening. We were able to sign into all our TV stations, that we pay for at home, with no problem. We enjoyed the hike around the Meadow and walking around the pond. Our Springer Spaniel enjoyed running the hills (next time I would bring her “Out Fox” mask, not for COVID but for the foxtails). Although there were only 2 adults and Tara, Dogwood would be very comfortable for 4 people. Noon check in/out also is a very nice convenience. We stopped at El Molcajete in Ukiah, on Jeff’s recommendation and brought Mole Chicken enchiladas up to eat for lunch, delicious. I always received a quick response when I was communicating with Jeff and all my questions were answered. Although Jeff sent us excellent directions, the turn into “Your Little Piece of Heaven” comes quick (and we missed it the first time), but a little turn around led us to a wonderful long Labor Day weekend that we hope to return to in the future.

Beautiful modern property situated overlooking a valley with a lake. Relaxing and away from everything. Perfect place for me, my kids, and my pup. Loved it!!

Host experience was great - very detailed instructions provided for check-in and check-out. The house was spotless and welcoming and even had a few items in the fridge that were greatly appreciated! The bathtubs (both the inside and out) were the stars and made the trip that much more relaxing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a modern and cozy place to unwind.

This space exceeded our expectations. The natural light is just amazing and the surrounding area is peaceful and quiet. The indoor and outdoor tubs were also quite a treat! I would be delighted to stay here again. Thank you, Julie, for putting so much care and thought into this home.

We had an amazing stay at Welshwood. The accommodations were immaculate. The location was so beautiful. Every few minutes the scenery changed as the fog rolled in and out and in between the hills and trees. The wood burning fireplace was perfection.

We had an amazing time. The property is beautiful and relaxing. The fenced in acre and tiled floors are great for dogs. We will be back!

While the pictures do it justice, the feeling of being on this wide open property is wonderful, especially with the outdoor tub on a hot day. Like everyone else, the only thing missing is a sofa, even a loveseat. Thank you!

Don't be fooled by the plain exterior of this rental. The inside is beautiful with all the amenities. And the views are gorgeous. Julie, the owner, was very responsive by phone and email. Highly recommended !

Beautiful place, secluded, couldn't see another house. Nice and quiet, modern furniture.

We had such a beautiful stay..really couldn’t be better. Although it was raining most of our stay, we were able to sit with the trees and the hawks. The windows allow for continued connection with the spectacular setting. The oversized soaking tubs were incredible and so rare in that we can actually fit! We forgot to have cash for the cleaning person but there will be a next time. Thank you for a wonderful retreat!

I stayed here for 4 nights/5 days with my Golden Retriever just before Thanksgiving. I was a little apprehensive driving to Ukiah because my reservation coincided with the bad air quality days resulting from the Camp Fire. But, from the moment I arrived, all those fears vanished. I could not believe the spectacular 360 degree hillside views, the seclusion, the acres and acres of golden land, the views to and easy access to Piano Lake, the modern-styled guest house with HUGE windows, the fully fenced property --- I could go on and on! My golden retriever had a silly "are you sure we are staying here?" grin from the moment we arrived! My dog and I played around the fenced area, hiked to and from the lake, discovered trails around the meadow -- you name it! The satellite TV signal and internet access were great. The water pressure was strong. Julie provided milk, wine, yummy apple juice, water at the fridge. The guest house is fantastically furnished and looked like those you see on magazines. Oh, how I wished I owned this house so I didn't have to leave! My dog did not want to leave either and gave me a woeful look as we left. Just a magical stay at a magical place! Thanks, Julie, we will be back regularly!

We sure enjoyed our time here but our dogs loved it! Beautiful sunrises while sipping coffee was our favorite part of our stay!

We recently rented the Welshwood Guest house as a getaway for a week while touring Mendocino County. It was such a relief to find a place that would allow us to take our dog with us! The property and house is absolutely beautiful the photos here really do not do justice. We loved the place so much that we extended our stay twice. The owner was very accommodating and gave excellent instructions and check in procedure. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic setting this is definitely the place!

Beautiful location close to town. Great for dogs with a full fence. Makes for a relaxing vacation when you can let you pup out to explore and not worry he’ll get too far. We brought our kindle and books we haven’t had time to read and kicked back in the chairs and read for hours. Feels remote with beautiful views from the floor to ceiling glass walls, yet close 15 minute drive to town. Everything you need is provided. We look forward to our next stay.
