Great place to swim and paddle around.

Based on the VRBO listing, we expected more for this property for what we paid than what we got. The cottage advertised that it slept eight people. This is a stretch because of the size of the cottage. The add-on room which is supposed to be considered a sleeping area is in the main room beside the kitchen, so not really functional as a sleeping area for two people. The listing should’ve said that it slept six. We love Lake kawagama. We felt that we didn’t get to enjoy enough of the lake because of the very long and somewhat dangerous walk to the dock from the cottage. It’s not a walk that you would want to make too many times in one day. It’s not safe for anybody with the physical mobility issues or small children. The property manager was excellent and answered all of our questions while we were there. The dock is amazing. The water was fun to swim in and we had easy access to the lake for our boat. The Adirondacks and umbrella on the dock were nice to have. We had all the amenities we needed, though the cottage was a little rough in spots. Some of the windows didn’t open or had holes in the screens. Again for the amount we paid we thought we would get a little bit better quality.

This cottage is beautiful, located on a lake, with a spectacular view. The hosts are very responsive and amazingly sympathetic. Everything was clean, as described. Maybe just take into consideration the necessity to have winter tires (as a minimum) to access the cottage with downhills and uphills that could be very tricky with ice and snow. But it's worth it ! We were 7, so maybe 7 chairs could be better to all sit on the beautiful wooden table, and maybe 7 towels also. If you consider working a bit, the wifi may be a bit too slow as it sometimes stops. We sadly couldn't use Netflix properly. But the wood stove and the view are enough to enjoy evenings. Highly recommended.

Our family decided to have a New Years' get away from the loud city and spend a weekend for the New Year up north in a cottage. We have found a very nice cottage in a very secluded area that has met the criteria. The view from the cottage is spectacular. The sun would rise and warm your heart. In the evening we would spend the time by the fireplace and drink our hot chocolate. I would very much recommend this place to stay and have your own getaway from the noisy cities.

The home was spotless! It had every kitchen utensils you could ask for! The view was out of this world! The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. It is set in the woods, which we loved!

Beautiful cottage, with many thoughtful touches. Comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming with wonderful views from the inside and outside. We had a perfectly relaxing week. Spent the days swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and relaxing on the various outside sitting areas. And the evenings barbecuing, stargazing and sitting by a fire. The host was accommodating and quick to respond to questions. Our stay couldn’t have been better and we look forward to coming back soon. Thank you for everything, Ryan!

Beautiful spot on the lake. Loved using the kayaks and paddle boat. The cottage had everything we needed!

It was a lovely little getaway and Ryan was very helpful. They have made the cottage quite cozy and I would recommend it.
