Our family enjoyed reconnecting this Labor Day weekend. We had such a wonderful time and the house left us in awe. We were so glad to see that the Ian struck neighborhood was rebuilding! The property gave us 2 rooms with lots of space, a huge kitchen to make breakfast and a laundry to dry our towels from the beach/pool every night. We hope to come back again!

We were pleasantly surprised by the interior of the property, obviously recently refreshed bathrooms, kitchen, and vinyl flooring and everything felt clean. The building itself was a little dated with some deferred maintenance, but not bad. The location was good, directly across from the Junkanoo area, and a short bike ride to Time Square. Could be walkable, but wouldn't want to walk it repeatedly. Also a short walk to the 7-11 for coffee and necessities. We would stay here again! Regarding some constructive feedback...we are property owners of a rental in Key West FL, so we have some experience with vacation property management. As a suggestion, it would make sense to provide beach towels and possibly a couple of inexpensive beach chairs, and maybe a cooler. These are all inexpensive and would be used by most guests, if they disappear then charge a fee to the guest. They are a pain for guests to go purchase and then have to throw away at the end of the week! A couple of things that didn't make sense was the requirement to supply our own garbage bags and toilet paper. Such an inexpensive item to provide, and a hassle for the guests to get on their own. Not all guests go grocery shopping, many are happy eating out. If necessary just add $15 or $20 to the rent for the week to more than cover the cost, definitely a silly position to take as an owner. Check out was ok, but we didn't think it necessary to be required to pull our own sheets off the beds, towels from the bathrooms, and make a pile by the door. Why ask the guests to do that when the unit needs to be cleaned any way? Also, the second bedroom which had a queen bed I believe, was half fitted with a single size sheet so instead of the cleaning crew getting the right sheet, they just threw the single on. And finally, the unit was listed as sleeping six, including a fold out couch, but no linens or blankets were provided for it. Overall a good stay in a clean unit at a good location, but wanted to provide some constructive feedback for the owner and property manager. Again....charge a little more if necessary, and provide those basic items, so simple to just do it right.

Great home
Just what we wanted. Close to the beach (5 to 6 minute walk) and yet privacy. Was able to find restaurant close by we enjoyed. Even a farmer’s type market we walked to on the two days it was open. Hope to come back.

Mixed feelings on this one. Pros: super cute house, very clean Cons: the owner leaves car in carport so there is only 2 tandem spots / on VRBO I listed we'd have our dog. On day 2 we got a call that we owed an extra $300 for the dog. I said, um no. Because I checked dog on vrbo. But the "vacation rental property company" has additional forms for you to fill out. I called and asked a question immediately after booking asking about the dog, and she said "nope I was good to go" | Then on the phone call when they said I owed $300 she said: "The owner saw that you had a dog" so that means the owner lives close by and watches the house while you stay. We saw him walk by a few times and check the mailbox. People rent houses for a reason: privacy. I don't like that the owner watches the house while we stayed. But in the end the company paid for the additional "dog charges." So it's a 3 star. Cute upgrades.
