Carried Away was so amazing! Our family enjoyed the amenities and ambiance as well as the community. John and May were great hosts and their staff overdelivered!

House is set on a beautiful setting right next to the lake. House accommodated the entire family and we never felt crammed in. Having double appliances throughout the house was also great. 2 refrigerators, dishwashers, cloths washers, and dryers made our stay that much easier. Space in the basement was great for the kids to have some of their own space for games and pool. Hot tub was a nice bonus on the cool nights in February. I would highly recommend this place for a large gathering of family or friends to enjoy each others time and company.

Absolutely perfect accommodations! Spacious and spotless home, primo boat dock and cozy fire pit! Enjoyed every moment of our stay. The water by the dock is shallow enough for the young ones to play and have fun! The kayaks and paddle boards served the teenagers and even a couple of us older folks with hours of relaxing exercise. The pontoon boat looked and operated as if it just came off of the sales lot! The property owner/manager and his staff are second to none! Professional, courteous and kind! They made the stay even more enjoyable! We will certainly be looking at a return trip! Well Done!

We had 15 of our closest friends come together to celebrate a 40th birthday. The house was perfection -clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, gorgeous view, amazing property, amenities galore, lawn for all the yard games, easy check-in/check-out, plenty of parking. Can’t say enough good things about this place! Will stay here again and will recommend to anyone!

A much better option than being trapped in some downtown hotel for 3 days.

We had 11 adults come together from 9 states to do a few days of work and rest together. It was PERFECT. Everything felt new and fresh. I especially appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was with cooking equipment. We could make and serve everything we needed to. I also appreciated that John always answered the phone when I called with a question and he arranged to have lights on in the house when we arrived after dark. I highly recommend if you are gathering people who want to be together, but don't want to be on top of each other. Great location on the lake with a good sized grocery store less than ten minutes away. We highly recommend!!!

Carried Away is truly a one-of-a-kind property and home. The Sunset views from this house are just incredible. I am not sure I have seen a more beautiful Sunset and right from the back deck of the home! I would also like to say this is the absolute cleanest home we have ever stayed in. The bedding was remarkably fresh, even the comforters we could tell were freshly washed. Everyone staying remarked how comfortable the bedrooms and mattresses were to sleep on! There is so much to do at this property, from shooting pool in the amazing walk out basement, to bathing in the gorgeous spa. We could not have picked a better getaway!!

We had such a relaxing and memorable stay at Carried Away. Words cannot do it justice; this place was amazing. You can certainly tell there is a lot of thought and time put into this home. The kitchen is just absolutely perfect for hosting big groups. The cook ware is all top notch, not something we would normally see in a vacation home. Some of our favorite moments were relaxing in the awesome hot tub watching the Sunsets! This was truly a refreshing and amazing experience staying at Carried Away!

Spacious, functional, equipped, comfortable, clean, something for everyone ... Hands down, this was one of the best vacation homes we stayed at. Comfy beds and linens, super functional kitchen, great internet / TVs, awesome grassy lawn / lake access for play, spectacular dinner table that comfortably seats 14, fun hot tub / pool table / games for fun ... Can't wait to return!

This is an amazing home. Perfect for a girls trip and birthday celebration. It was clean, organized, and spacious. Great fit for our party of 8 people. All the bedrooms were beautiful and huge bar downstairs as well as a large dining room table was perfect for group dinners. The lake views are absolutely beautiful as well. Already planning a 2nd trip!

This property was really nice, only things I can complain about what the water pressure is pretty bad, we had 20 people in the house and only one person could shower at a time, my 2 yr old got althetes foot for being barefoot (inside), they say u can use the grill but u have to fill the propane tank yourself, they have a fire pit outside but u have to get ur own fire wood, ($75 for them to bring it) for the price to stay there you would imagine these things would be included. We had the hot tub company come out in the middle of our stay to drain and clean the hot tub, which should be something done before we come or after guests leave. These are our complaints as a group, the house was clean and pretty spacious, was a nice week away with family.

Our family gathered at this lovely home to celebrate Thanksgiving and our parents’ 60 th anniversary. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate! We had plenty of room to spread out or to find a quiet place to be alone. We ate several meals all together at the massive dining table- seats 14!! The sunsets were something to look forward to every evening and especially enjoyed down by the fire pit. We can only imagine how fun Carried Away would be in the summer! We hope to be back- thank you for a wonderful place to gather with our people.

We enjoyed a long weekend at Carried Away. The house is beautiful, the location was stunning and the beds were so comfortable. The sunset over the water was something we looked forward to every night. We are already planning our next trip back!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed Carried Away for a week. We were able to moor our own boat in the dock slip and enjoy the lake views or the fire pit area in sturdy and comfortable Adirondack or lounge chairs. The expansive level backyard was great for our dogs. The house is thoughtfully furnished with spacious living areas. The mattresses are very comfortable and the beds are unique with USB charging ports in the headboard and 2 large drawers at the foot of the bed. The kitchen is equipped for a large group with 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers. The garage has a third refrigerator and ice maker. We especially enjoyed using the kitchen table for assembling jigsaw puzzles, a family tradition. The large dining room tables seat 14 or more, with 2 deck tables outside. The sunroom was used for reading and for a quiet place with door closed. We were grateful for the labeling of kitchen cabinets and drawers and light switches. We would certainly use this property again!

This home provided us with EVERYTHING we needed to have a great week. The house itself was amazing, the dock added to the experience, and the weather we had was almost perfect! The lake water was clean, the kitchen was the nicest one I've ever cooked in (the labeling of everything made it so easy to find everything), a place for every person to sit and eat. Honestly, the house could not have been more perfect for our needs. With family spread out, it was so nice to meet at one location, space for everyone and just enjoy each others company. I would recommend this home without hesitation, not one bad thing to say about it!!

This house was newly remodeled and it was beautiful. We had family from NY, PA, CT, SC and CA. Tons of room for everyone with lots to do - including ping pong, pool table, video games, hot tub, kayak and paddle board. We rented the pontoon boat and had lots of fun pulling a tube for the first time. We also loved the fire pit and fishing from the dock. The house had tons of dishes/silverware/cooking supplies all nicely labeled. Ice machines in the garage and lower level as well as double refrigerators, dishwashers, and washing machines were very convenient for such a large house and many guests. We would definitely return to this house.

What a beautiful home and property, not to mention, the lake! This is our 3rd year coming down to lake Gaston and it didn't disappoint. We had 3 generations ranging from 4mo to...let's just say grandparents! Everyone had a blast. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Gorgeous views of the lake from the house and deck.

This property was amazing. With our large family (18) there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own privacy. The fully stocked kitchen was our center point with dinners and everyone enjoyed the large sunroom for there morning coffee & chatting time. After our first day of rain the remainder of the week was beautiful and we relaxed at the large dock most days. We took the opportunity to use this beautiful lake backdrop for Family Photos with Lymariepjacksonphotograpgy.com - they turned out great. We even had a surprise engagement that was captured during our visit. We will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacations.

I selfishly don’t want anyone to know how amazing this house was, so I’m able to rent again next year.😬 But this house totally exceeded our expectations!!! It was beautiful, spacious and perfect for a multi family vacation. We spent so much time just floating in the lake. S’mores by the campfire, big dining room inside and out so everyone could sit together. Breath taking views from the deck of the lake! Kids spent endless hours playing and fishing from the dock while the adults appreciated the bar areas outside and downstairs. And can’t forget the hot tub. They’ve thought of every detail. Food lion is 5 mins away and Jenny’s is a must. We golfed and hiked and had the pleasure of seeing deer in the yard. Just book it you won’t regret it!!!!

We booked Carried Away for our entire family to come together and share an amazing week together! We had 4 generations, from 2 different states, and ages ranging from 2 1/2 yrs. old to 86 yrs. old. Finding a house that would accommodate all our family was a challenge, but Carried Away delivered "big time"! Every bit of the 7,000 sq. feet was renovated, and awesome! 9 bedrooms fit our family perfectly, and 2 levels offered plenty of space to relax, play games, & have fun! The large dining table was a huge plus, because we always love the conversations that happen around the table, & just sharing a big meal together. Kitchen was fantastic, well equipped, beautiful, clean, & stunning. Both the upper balcony, and lower were perfect areas for playing games, having breakfast & coffee, and just enjoying those sunset views. The double decker boathouse was beyond amazing. The shade it provided was key to my parents being able to enjoy being outside with all of us most of the day. The bar & tv were a "win-win" for evenings down at the dock. Fire pit was great, plenty of chairs, and amazing sunset views! The lawn was perfect because we could all easily walk back & forth from house to dock (great for the littles)! We really enjoyed the kayaks & paddle boards, which was so great that the owners provide those for the guests. Another added bonus that the owners thought of for guests, was the ice machine in the lower level. Huge game changer for enjoying "summer", and refreshing drinks! The location of Carried Away is perfect because it's an easy run to the grocery, gas station, or to grab a bite out. Being able to also rent a pontoon boat from the owners was fantastic! On a lake this beautiful, and calm, you gotta have a boat! So my advice is to definitely go the extra mile to rent the pontoon with this property! The owners of the property were absolutely awesome, and so easy to work with! I would absolutely rent from them anytime, as they're such great people! Knowing that you're renting from good people, who work hard to make your experience wonderful, is priceless! If you're looking for the vacation spot to be on Lake Gaston, this is it! The owners spared no expense at making this the perfect large family or multi-family vacation spot. They did an amazing job with renovations and the house was immaculate. The home includes so many thoughtful details and had everything we needed for our trip. The water the so clear, fishing was great and we spent most of each day down at the dock. We rented the pontoon which was awesome for sunset cruises, tubing and even wakeboarding. The sunsets were beautiful and we enjoyed everything about this house and property. The renters were very responsive when we needed assistance (coming out immediately when the hot tub wouldn’t heat…. We accidentally put it in sleep mode…. And when we found broken glass). Huge kitchen, stocked well and with tons of room. I think 4 ice makers!! Even a fridge at the dock. They really went all out. Consider yourself lucky if you’re able to rent this house. Worth every penny.

This a property we could stay at any time of year and it would not disappoint. The house is amazing with 10 bedrooms and all the bathrooms. Beautifully decorated, so many great amenities. The lake frontage, flat lot and views are amazing, you don't have to move from the house to start enjoying it as the views right from inside the house are amazing.

Carried Away is truly lake living at its best. We couldn't have asked for more out of a vacation home. From the incredible mile plus long lake views (Sunset views!), gorgeous water front and flat lawn, HIGH END house with all the luxuries, INCREDIBLE KITCHEN, I can't say enough how awesome that kitchen is for anyone especially big groups. We have found our spot at Carried Away!
