We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makin Memories. The house was very clean, very well stocked and maintained by the owners. In addition, the communication sent by the owners was very detailed and useful. They also responded quickly when we had a question about operating the boat lift at the dock. Fantastic experience.

We enjoyed our stay!

This property was beautiful and well equipped for a family of 12. The grandkids got to sleep in their very own area which was a major hit! We loved the easy access to the dock, that we could swim off the dock and that we could pull the boat we rented into the dock. The owners were so easy to work with. Very accomodating, quick to respond and even made some great suggestions for our trip. We definetely plan our making our way back here again. Beautiful home and beautiful lake! This is a great place for families! I really loved how the house was stocked with plenty of plates and everything you needed for the kitchen. A huge plus was the gates they had inside which we used to keep our baby safe! We will definitely be visiting again in the future!

The eight of is stayed comfortably in this home, no complications. Excellent views, water access, gathering areas. We were not an easy bunch to please but the owners were so accommodating in every way! Thank you for memories.

We had a wonderful stay!! We came up for a tournament, but ended up getting sick and I couldn't think of a better place to be stuck inside. The view was spectacular, with three mallard ducks who visited every morning. The covered dock was very convenient whereas we were able to park the boat and get on the water when we could within a few minutes (and get off when we got tired). The host Ben was really flexible and understanding. We were able to delay our arrival due to us feeling ill and adding the time lost to the end of the trip. He was accommodating. We will definitely stay there again and recommend to friends!!! Craig

We enjoyed our stay, the house was very nice and such a beautiful view! We chose this location for our family Christmas get together to be able to visit with our grandson and his wife before he is deployed in March. Much to our surprise another grandson and his wife who are doctors in Rome. GA were able to join us for our Christmas evening meal before having to head back. This gave us the opportunity to visit, eat and play games and have a great family time. All in all we have a wonderful stay and also appreciate your kindness considering the long drive some of us had that you let us have access to the hose before the 4:00pm check in time. : )"

We booked this house for a family getaway. We met my sisters and their families here. The house was plenty spacious. We loved tubing, fishing, watching the water . The house was exactly as described. It was Soooo clean!! The kitchen was very well stocked. It was like being in my own kitchen. The owners were so easy to deal with and communication with them was great!! The boat ramp was really close. My husband could easily unload and load his boat with out having to drive miles to do so. We all are looking forward to meeting up and staying here again soon. Thank you for sharing your house.

Property was just as pictured. Very clean and the large room over the garage is great for kids or a large fishing group. Shirt drive to Cullman and a few local restaurants with good food and service. Already booked for next year.

Our family of 4 and a few friends stayed here for the week of the 4th. We enjoyed everything about the place, the lodging, amenities, location, you name it. The house was clean and well organized. Easy walk to the dock with plenty of room to hang out by the water. We could see the Smith Lake Park fireworks from the dock. 15 minutes to Cullman, walk to Smith Lake Park, take your boat across the creek to the marina. Thank you for a great experience!

We’ve been vacationing as a family for 38 years (since our boys were little), and always stay at an ocean front house in SC or FL. We decided to try something different this summer and rented this lake house…it was the best decision ever!!! Everyone LOVED it!!! The house was immaculate and the best equipped I’ve seen of all the VRBOs at which we’ve stayed. No matter what you want to prepare in the kitchen, you’re set: knives, cooking pans, blender, pots and pans. It’s all in new or almost new shape. Dual coffeemaker. Plenty of space for a large family to eat together or play games. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of pillows and blankets. Thankfully, there were very few steps to the dock. (Smith Lake is clean and gorgeous, but many of the houses have prohibitively long stairs to get to water. The dock had plenty of room for our ski boat and jet ski. If you enjoy water sports, this house is ideal! My husband pulled grandkids kneeboarding every day from 9 am to 5 pm. (Note: there’s a small marina right across the lake to get boat gas). You wouldn’t have to have a boat though to enjoy this house, there’s plenty of room on the dock for sunning and jumping off, as well as a ladder so you can climb back up easily. The grands all enjoyed the hot tub (just be sure to make note of house rules to keep it clean for everyone). Probably my favorite part of the house was the porches, upper and lower, for enjoying the peaceful view while having my morning coffee, reading or talking with family. One more huge plus: the owners could not have been nicer and were always quick to respond to any questions we had both before and during our stay. All in all, a 5 star stay. We made so many fun family memories at Makin’ Memories! We’ll be back!!!

The house was so pretty and clean! Having two washers and dryers was very nice. Spacious rooms and multiple areas for kids to hang out. Three full bathrooms was great. The boat dock isn’t far away or too many stairs like some I’ve seen. You need to know ahead of time, however, that you do not have access to the slip as pictured. Their boat is parked there so you have to park on the side and not covered. We were expecting to park our new boat under the awning out of the Weather so that was disappointing and felt misleading. Also the pet instructions are very restrictive and not fully relayed to you until you walk in the house. Most folks let their dog on the furniture or beds but here they aren’t and not even allowed upstairs. Our friends that were coming with their small dog just opted to only send half of their family to visit bc of strict dog rules. They should probably just say no pets. All in all was a great stay though.
