While closer to the road than we expected it didn’t take away from the experience. The property manger was a gem. Highly recommend

The booking and check in process was easy, thanks to the hosts from Sunny Day vacation rentals, Jacqueline and David. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and natural beauty! There wasn't anything lacking that was promised in the rental description, and we would definitely recommend this place to others. Though we went in the summer, I strongly agree with the 4 wheel drive recommendations for accessing the cabin in the winter!

We stayed two nights in the summer. The property is nestled about 50 feet from the main road and about 20 minutes from Salida. There are numerous decks and plenty of seating and bedding for 8-10. The couch folds out into a bed as well. Shower pressure and water temps are amazing.
There are some things I'd like to see before considering it again including screens in the windows, a welcome message through the VRBO app (you get a separate email from the property (Roaring River Mtn Lodge), and a bluetooth sound bar or speaker. Bonus ask: add/improve the outdoor furniture and put the gas fire back behind the cabin (its a bit tight on the front deck)
All around we loved the experience and would consider booking again.

Had a great stay here. The house and accommodations were excellent. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, great for walks. Lot's of stuff nearby too. Would definitely stay again.

Nicely appointed new cabin. It is by a road, but down the hill, so it is not too noticable. Great views and all the necessities were provided. Watching the hummingbirds was a blast.

Things didn’t go as planned but the property manager was very communicative & did everything in their power to help us out. Highly recommend renting with them. We’ll definitely be back to try this again.

We experienced a wonderful stay with our 3 adult children! It was perfectly located for our Christmas ski trip, just minutes from Monarch. Although the cabin is very close to the highway, it’s very quiet and we felt isolated. The views were amazing throughout every room of the cabin. We especially enjoyed the morning sunrise! The kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy for cooking our meals. Appliances were really nice! The living area opens to the kitchen/dining and provides plenty of comfortable seating for lounging and playing games. They aren’t kidding about the driveway! Although it had been plowed and snow wasn’t deep, it took chains on our 4x4 F150 to make it up. Our kid’s 2 Subarus made it up with no problem. The manager was great to work with and very helpful. We’ll definitely return!

We stayed here in late August. The location was good, but a little busier than we would have preferred. The cabin is nice and well appointed, but the upstairs bedroom mattresses were terrible. If they would upgrade the mattresses I would give them 5 stars

I treated my employees to a year end get-away at this cabin. We had a great time cooking together, being unplugged away from work. We rode mountain bikes on Monarch and in Salida for 3 days. Great little spot for a get-away!

I rented the house for a guys fishing trip. New property and well equipped with everything we needed, even a garlic press. I would definitely rent it again.

Cabin nestled in the woods!
This cabin is well appointed and welcoming! The light in the family room made for a beautiful gathering spot for dinner, game & to watch hummingbirds. The drive is steep but that suited our vehicles & gave it Authenticity:) Beds and linens are quality & comfortable. Gorgeous area!

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend. We needed to get out of the city and this spot fit the bill. We set up some board games on the table overlooking the Monarch river. Salida is nearby for dining and walking around.

Great cabin for ski competition
Stayed at the cabin during a ski competition for 11 year old at Monarch. Clean, bright, fully stocked. Some of the coldest days all winter in CO, helped to have the big space heater the house provided. One note: the listing says “4 Wheel Drive and chains” in the winter and it is 100% accurate. Do not attempt to drive the road leading to the house or it’s driveway without allwheel or 4wheel drive AND snow tires or chains. This is mountain CO at its best, which means the rental car is no match in the heavy snow we had this week.

We thought the property was very comfortable for our group of 8. It's equipped with everything you need. Our family skied for two days and it was very short commute to the mountain. The only issue we had was not being able to take in the Chiefs playoffs game bc the satellite service was down.
