It is also wonderful for a family ready to enjoy beautiful trails and time in front of the indoor wood-burning stove with games, or outside sitting near the fire pit roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.The home has everything you need to prepare home cooked meals. (We even had waffles one morning!)For outdoor activities, the start of the Salmon River Trail head is only 3 min. away from the cabin. It is one of the most picturesque hikes suitable for little ones too.The Zig Zag Inn, 5 min. away, is nostalgic and offers great Italian food and especially pizza. The Dragonfly Cafe, 10 min. away, offers amazing prime rib dinners on Fri. and Sat. nights.We will definitely be back.

We get inside, No wood stove for heat, just a sign saying “sorry it’s broken” during January in the mountains, somewhere where power was out. The power goes out often, and they are so unprepared. I shouldn’t even need to say more but to save someone else from this experience I will.
Door was locked when we got there, door code did not work. We had to wait an hour in the cold with a 2 year old waiting for them to come open it.

The electricity was off all weekend. The property owners knew an entire day before we checked in and offered no Warning so we could bring lighting.
The people who work here offer no help, they are rude and do not care. I do not recommend staying with this company. The cabin itself was beautiful so it was a huge shame. There was also a huge tree that had fallen on the hot tub. So dangerous! The floors were also dirty when we got there and covered in someone else’s dog hair. It was truly a nightmare. Had to get refunded for the whole weekend thankfully after I was yelled at and lied to by Trish from their office.

Reviewer Comments: 1 of 2 issues: Considering we had 8 people we needed more than the 2 cars "allowed" so I called and was told that we Might be able to fit a 3rd car in but they couldn't promise and we weren't supposed to park on the street. We were told we could park in the grocery store parking lot over night if we had extra. ??Does the grocery store know you tell people that?? The guests made huge efforts to get everyone who was coming at different times and from different directions into only 3 vehicles. Which also required us to figure out a safe place to leave the other vehicles. When you arrive to that house it is Obvious that we Easily could have fit 4 cars in that driveway and a fifth if we had put any vague effort into it. The coordination and time required was Unnecessary. There should be more specific information for each house so they'd be able to tell us the truth versus vague assumptions. 2 of 2 issues: Having to go to the office Before 5 to pick up Anything is Ridiculous in this day and age. Why exactly do you feel you need to lay eyes on people?? Between key holders and key codes there should be no reason in 2019 why we should have to go to your office. Again, time and coordination I shouldn't have had to deal with. (I don't have to go to any office with Vacasa!)

Though it is near a road, it is not a busy one and we felt secluded in the woods. There were a few items missing (lighter for the wood stove and kitchen towels). The staff promised them the next day but did not deliver. The living area is very dark - if you like to read (or anything else non-electronic) bring a lamp or two.

We’ve stayed in LOTS of cabins over the years and Cozy Bear is our fave! The kitchen is the best stocked I’ve seen for a rental, the open floor plan is awesome for one of us to be doing a puzzle at the dining table, one to be cooking it up in the kitchen and the rest to be watching movies - but we can still talk and enjoy our together time. Cozy Bear is clean, quiet, private but easy to get to and a quick run to the store for provisions. Three of our group work in property management (so we’re picky about rentals) and the team at Mt Hood Rentals is professional, friendly, helpful and responsive! Definitely will be coming back for years of girl’s trips!

Reviewer Comments: This is definitely rustic... not our ideal for a family of five. Heavily wooded to a creek on one side with road on another. Almost haunting, including neighboring weird A frame & property across stream. Driveway nor path to cabin are paved rocks) and presented a mess with rains. Advertised sleeps 8 and shows 2 twins upstairs... only had a queen instead. No sheets, pillows or comforter for the pull out couch bed that was nasty.... we looked everywhere. Can't be that expensive to have a backup set in a closet. As a result, we had to raid the other room beds for a night before the mint company came out the next day. Also didn't like that the only bathroom downstairs was right off the main room. The main room also needs a warm, big rug rather than furniture sliding around on pseudo wood floors. Not for us.
