Didn’t know it was hotel, that was misleading. Thought our two rooms were adjoined,they were not. Hotel staff was great.

Our party (of 5) stayed last Thursday, (07/20/2023) at Best Western River North to celebrate 50 years of friendship established while in college. We enjoyed several outings in the downtown area, so the hotel's location was a great convenience, as was its parking. The staff seemed friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, we did not entirely enjoy our stay due to the following issues: 1) We were required to switch elevators to access our rooms (on the 5th floor); the lobby elevator did not serve our floor. It was very inconvenient transferring our luggage from one elevator (on the 4th floor) to another (4th floor elevator) to reach our rooms located in a different tier of the building. The reverse was required at check-out. 2) The carpeting in the halls and rooms was dirty, especially along the baseboards, and it smelled. 3) The rooms had no refrigerators or microwaves for cooling or warming our left-over restaurant food. Glad none of us had medicine to refrigerate. 4) Ice was available one floor beneath ours, which meant utilizing the same unusual elevator arrangement to access ice. 5) AM Coffee was not available for guests in the lobby; the machine was broken on Fri. 07/21. What we paid for a 2-room, 1-night stay was a savings compared to other facilities. However, we were expecting accommodations like those featured in the photos, not what we found and experienced. Should've known -- "You get what you pay for."

Property had an odd smell when entering door two. Although it was a non smoking property, this wasn’t the case. I believe other guest are anxious for the dispensary that will be opening across the street in the near future. Walls were thin and there was lots of noise and commotion to be heard until 2am. Because of the set up of the hotel, unless staff walks to other doors, they have no way to monitor what’s going on.

The hotel exterior could use some curb appeal and the elevator was small and stuffy. But those were the only negatives. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very spacious and clean. Great location and overall a great place to stay!

We had a great time here and everything was just as listed, we had a great view as well and very close to a lot of things downtown, the only problem we had was checking in it took over 30 minutes waiting in line and then also took awhile to verify everything and I think could have been done much better but other than that it was a great time! Would definitely recommend a stay here!
