The Tide is Turning is just lovely, with all you need for a wonderful week on the island. Rooftop views for sunsets, the sound right out the back door, quiet neighborhood, and lovely inside, with enough space to gather as well as places to read a book by yourself. The kitchen is well-equipped. The owners ensured we enjoyed our stay.

The kitchen is great with high end fixtures and easy to cook in. Cargo Lift was a big plus, the ease of loading and unloading was incredible. The roof top deck is incredible, great view of the entire sound. We are definitely returning next year!

New beautiful comfortable home with magnificent view of Pamlico Sound. Close to shops and restaurants. Private and tranquil, has everything you will need open floor plan with great finishes and wonderful decor— stained glass and multiple decks.

I stayed at this little cove 50 years ago as teenager and swam, sailed and clammed here. The owners, Kathy and Bob, have preserved the feel of those times in their lovely home, overlooking the sound and soaking in the silent laughter of the splashing sea. The home is immaculately designed with every feature cleverly conceived and positioned to offer Ocracoke's sounds, smells and views. It was so comfortable, relaxing and rewarding, we didn't want to leave during the day. The home is stocked exceptionally well and Kathy and Bob responded immediately and helpfully to any question we had. The VRBO ranking system does not provide sufficient metrics to adequately praise this home and its owners.

Kathy and Bob your home is so warm and inviting. You have a wonderful attention to detail which is appreciated. We got married on Saturday and the weather was great. We had a champagne toast from the deck to start the celebration before heading to the Flying Melon for our wedding dinner which was fantastic. We watched many fabulous sunsets from your rooftop deck. Coffee on deck to watch sunrises. The kayaks were used to paddle to Silver Lake and back (1 hour total), very fun. It was so perfect we didn't want to leave. We can't wait to come back!!!

This was without a doubt my favorite property I have stayed in in more then 32 years of renting. Every single detail is well thought out and astounding. I noticed something new and special every day. The details are incredible. You won’t be sorry renting here. The pictures do not do it justice even though they are fabulous. They hosts are great and super friendly. Been coming to Ocracoke for over 30 years…this brand new home transported us-felt like bald Head Island. It’s rare to be on the water in Ocracoke and ever rarer to AU e you own little beach. House is exciting to discover, location can’t be beat. You will love this place. The master suite is incredible, bunk room made the youngins super happy. Two other small but cozy rooms on bottom floor. Great kitchen!!! Special house.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about our time here. The home was thoughtfully designed with water views from every room. Great little sandy beach in the back for fishing and kayaking, extremely clean, and well stocked. We can’t wait to get back!

I’m a property owner on Ocracoke so I already know how special the Island is…abundant nature, history, friendly people, escape from it all, and the house is as special as the Island. Everything was outstanding, the house is in a great location, is beautifully furnished, has awesome views and plenty of space to gather as well as to be alone. The owner responded immediately to questions and made us feel very welcome. I can’t think of anything more we could have wanted other than a few more days to enjoy it!

Fabulous property right on the water! With great views and plenty of space for extended family in town for a wedding at Berkley Manor. Very clean-modern kitchen for entertaining friends and family. We really enjoyed our stay!

Ocracoke is a wonderful place to visit, and this house made our trip even better than expected. Hosts were super responsive and helpful. We watched sunsets from the rooftop deck which showcases the home’s amazing location. Views and balconies galore. Easy walk to the village center for shopping or dinners. The home was super comfortable, well appointed, very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of space for everyone. And being able to kayak in the sound was another treat. Would love to stay here again and again! Thank you!

This property is absolutely gorgeous! The photos in the listing only hint at the loveliness of this home. The decor and location are stunning. 2 decks overlook the sound, and the roof top crow's nest has panoramic views of the island. There is also a screened-in first floor porch for enjoying morning sun. My husband and I were there for a couple's getaway. While the home is quite large, it did not feel like "too much house". Master bedroom on top floor with private deck and spa bath is like that of an exclusive hotel. The home could easily accommodate 3 couples or family with children. I would caution against very young children though. Due to the amount of stairs/decks this may not suit toddlers or younger children. Older children (and adults!) who would mind the home's environment would be fine. Large dining table and comfortable living room furnishings. Kitchen is well stocked with plates, utensils, cookware and appliances. Walk-in pantry plenty of room for your supplies. Great laundry. Kayaks underneath which can be put in right off the house, and room for your own beach paraphernalia. All this being said this is not a party house. This is a beautiful and tranquil getaway. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful and answered all our questions and concerns promptly. I cannot emphasize enough how much this felt like a high end vacation, even with the weather not completely cooperating. We will definitely be back, hopefully, for a longer stay next time.

This is an absolute beauty of a home. A brand new built home is nothing short of stunning. There is plenty of space for a large group or a small romantic get away. It is located on the sound with beach access and an incredible rooftop, as well as balconies at each main level. I can’t say enough about this property. Located a short walk, golf cart ride or bike from everything. We’ve been going to the island for a while and we absolutely loved our stay at this home.

The house is beautiful inside and out with mazing views! The set up is great for families, group or fishermen. The fish cleaning station is superb.

This is a beautiful property, complete with the latest styling and amenities. Located less than a half mile from the town, an easy walk, and steps from the sound. This has to be the cleanest house that I've stayed in and the owner made sure that everything was perfect. I really enjoyed all the extra touches such as the artwork, the right amount of seating, kayaks, luggage lift, water hoses, fast wifi and of course the rooftop deck. The modern furnishings and fixtures really made this stay feel special and luxurious. At the end of the week, no one was ready leave and I would definitely stay again.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, The Tide Is Turning is a wonderful place to stay on Ocracoke. This house is well-appointed and comfortable. We loved the porches, awesome top deck, and the bank of windows facing the sound. The kitchen is nicely stocked without being cluttered. There is plenty of room to gather in the house, and also little spots tucked in for solitude. Kathy was responsive to questions and very nice to work with. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again!

Incredible location on the backside of Ocracoke! Direct access to the water was ideal and we thoroughly enjoyed having the two included kayaks. Furthermore, the enjoyment of the view was heightened by an incredible rooftop deck where you can especially enjoy the Milky Way or storms by night and 360 vistas during the day. We love the well appointed open kitchen. All of the appliances worked incredibly well which is a rarity at times in the rental world.. We also loved the floor plan set up with the second floor being a central gathering area and cooking area and the first floor being home for two of the bedrooms with the master suite on the third. Is really a louder group a lot of flexibility and gathering. Our teenage traveling companions especially enjoyed the front facing first floor porch as well. Beautiful stained glass windows on every floor! Very ample parking both underneath the residence and out front. It’s on a dead-end street so traffic was incredibly minimal. Special areas for cleaning up after a day on the boat or on the beach included an extensive outdoor shower, foot cleaning area, and fish cleaning station. We took a bit of a risk on this house before even seeing pictures of the completed house and it exceeded our expectations!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Tide Is Turning set on North Pond of Ocracoke Island. The highlights of this vacation house are the views, the interior decorating, the location, and the enjoyment brought by the endless attention to detail. We spent many hours relaxing on the back deck watching the birds, the sound and the occasional boat. You have the same view through the clear, clean windows across the back of the house. We enjoyed watching the sunset on the roof top deck with a 360 degree view of the island. The interior has interesting design features like a custom staircase and modern lighting fixtures and stained glass windows that make the house fun to be in. The location on North Pond provided an easy access for kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming when we weren’t at the beach. The kitchen has everything we needed for cooking fresh seafood dinners. The glassware, dishes and utensils are high quality and stylish. Our host was very friendly and responsive whenever we had a question. She clearly loves this house and Ocracoke and enjoys sharing both with her guests.
