all hous was smiling like fireplace

It's a very private location & all the beds were very comfortable. If it weren't that the house stunk horribly & if it had been spring cleaned before our arrival, we would have enjoyed our stay.

The horrible combination musty/wood smoke smell. Fire alarm went off 7 times in 3 days & had to call the fire department twice the 1st night. Dirty floors & windows, oven didn't work, filthy shower curtain liner, & more.

Location was pretty and convenient, entertainment - games, large screen TV, and internet were great. Beds were comfortable, linens were exceptional. New bottles of antibacterial hand soap at each sink, Free toiletries. nice Dansk dishware (plates, coffee mugs, etc.) Clean refrigerator. Easy booking and key access on arrival. Would be great for winter visit due to access to winter activities - skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.

Initially difficult to find due to being set back off the road, house number hidden by foliage, and shared driveway. Extreme musty smell throughout. Window screens were not installed and were unable to be installed securely to keep out bugs and allow airflow in our high 80-degree weather (no AC). Oven and toaster oven needed cleaning. Spiral stairs to upper level are very steep - ladder like - and unsafe for elderly guests. High spaces not cleaned (e.g. top of shower curtain rod). Dated décor though this was clearly described in the online description. Dark interior with poor lighting. Listing says there is an ATM onsite, but THERE IS NO ATM. There is only one full bathroom. The upper level bathroom has only a toilet and sink, serving two bedrooms.
