Couch was dirty, stained, a/c broke down but fixed in a few hours. Also couch was so soft it hurt our backs.

What a fabulous weekend at Rock Ridge! Fishing, hiking, S’mores & laughter around the campfire, stargazing, the list goes on! 4 adults and 3 kids ages 8-12 - never lacking something to do! Allison was fantastic to communicate with, just made things go so smoothly.

Spent Memorial Day on the property with family and our friend's family. The drive up is gorgeous and the view from the living room is breathtaking. Perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or for stargazing at night. Property was well kempt and the owner was very responsive anytime we had a question. It was an easy drive to the numerous sites in the Shawnee National Forest. We would definitely stay here again and we would recommend this property to anyone interested in spending quality time with friends or family.

My husband and adult children spent the weekend in this lovely home for our daughter’s SIU law school graduation.The home has incredible views from all rooms.The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms were very comfortable.We were happy to have found this home and highly recommend.

Beautiful property close to hiking trails. We took our two boys (4 and7) who had a great time at the cabin as well as the surrounding hiking trails. Giant city was the best along with a trip to Boo park. The cabin is very nice with everything you need to cook. We had deer come around the property every morning and evening. If you want to get away, this is a great place to relax and explore.

The view is amazing. There's everything you could need at the cabin. Make sure to drive up slowly and take in the amazing view!!! We absolutely LOVED our stay.

Amazing house, with the most beautiful scenery. Pictures just don't really show how beautiful it is. Setting on the deck and being able to see a Hummingbird, bats and a blue tailed skink. Overall everything was great. A few housekeeping issues in the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is beautiful. Sitting on the decks in the evening and hearing the sounds of nature was so relaxing. The home was spotless, and had everything we needed. Great location for hiking and biking!

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The property is huge and maintained and the house is clean and updated. We couldn’t have loved our stay any more! The kids were able to play outside safely while we prepared dinner with the kitchen situated perfectly. We were perfectly located to take drives within 30 min to many of the state parks. We checked out Ferne Clyffe and Giant City. We also picked our own strawberries at hallsberry Farms, and walked the boardwalk at Section8 woods to check out the cypress swamp. We also got to spend ample time at the property to enjoy the pond and the views and dinners together! We didn’t have a single issue that we needed to contact the property managers but I have no question in my mind they would have been attentive to any issue we had based on their attention to detail in the house! Our trip was short but packed with so many great memories and we can’t wait to return to this property again!

We loved our stay here, the view is just amazing. Whoever planned and built this house did it right. We spent 90% of our time on the deck. The full moon nights were stunning. Bring binoculars, lots of birds to watch. The house was clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed to cook. Great ice maker in the fridge. A feature of the house is tons of windows, so bring an eye mask for sleeping up in the loft. The downstairs bedrooms are able to be dark. We loved taking walks up and down the long gravel drive in the morning and evening. Such a beautiful property!

We went there to get away from everything. Was perfect! Was a very hot time, so we spent most of our time indoors, playing cards, and talking. Was great in the morning to have coffee on the front deck.
Stayed out almost all of Wednesday night on the back deck. Crystal clear evening to see the meteor showers.
Looking forward to doing it next year also.

We had a nice family getaway in this cabin!! Our kids LOVED it! Everything you needed was there! We had issues with the refrigerator but Mary was very prompt in getting the situation taken care of. As someone stated in previous review, the loft is a little warmer in the summertime as there is only one AC unit cooling the entire cabin but there were fans in each bedroom to help cool ya down! This would be perfect for an adult couples getaway & hit the wine trails! We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!! We zip lined at Shawnee Bluffs Canopy (which was a favorite) - 15-20 min away...went swimming @ Dixon Springs Pool (30 min) hit The Chocolate Factory (yummy) & walked trails @ Fern Clyffe State Park (10min).

The views don’t get any better than Rock Ridge! There were some problems with hot water in the showers and upstairs tub, and we would have brought laundry detergent had we known that wasn’t provided, but the house is a dream! You will definitely love staying here.

We had a wonderful time at Mary’s property. She couldn’t have been more helpful and quick to respond. The views from the deck are breathtaking, and the property itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained, extremely clean and very welcoming. If you want somewhere to unwind and get away from the bustle of normal day to day life, this is it. Highly recommend.

Everyone loved fishing at the pond, (catch and release). My 7 year old granddaughter caught a white catfish; she was so excited! She also caught the largest fish out of everyone!
The house was great and the view from the deck was awesome.
