We received a warm welcome with a fresh watermelon juice. The cabana was right at the beach and the view from our veranda was stunning (the turtle beach is right in front and we indeed saw several turtles). The beds are comfortable with a mosquito net and the bathroom had a huge shower.

It takes a 5 to 10 minutes drive with a Tuktuk to the next city (restaurant, bars).

The location of this hotel was situated on turtle point which was great (keep in mind that this means it also gets very busy throughout the day but stunning in the mornings). It was nice to lounge on the sun beds within the property and have easy access to the beach. We especially liked the bathroom of the hut, it had a great hot shower!

-Electricity was unreliable. We couldn’t use it till later on in the evening. - If you’re not an insect person, like me, it is difficult to relax and feel comfortable there. - Although the location is great, it is very expensive for what it is. The facilities are standard.

Great Location directly on the Beach, very kind staff; the whole team from manager Deepika, chef Nuwan, steward Keerthi & Room Service Chamod was great and did everything to make my stay perfect. The restaurant was very good- wonderful grilled fish and seafood.

Gorgeous large bedroom on 2nd floor with huge balcony and view of palm trees and the Indian Ocean. Rooms are beautifully designed and bathroom was great too. Big 4 poster bed and flowers in our room. Staff friendly and helpful. Only one small complaint, it is a little on the expensive side for Sri Lanka, and we were disappointed that at £100+ a night that breakfast wasn't included (it was at everywhere else we stayed, even at £30 a night).

The request to pay cash upon your arrival was a surprise and we had not allowed for but staff were accommodating. The rooms are great but are a little tired (items worn out and an electric shock off the light switch. The beach is popular with visitors who camped against the beach /complex wall in front of the cabanas so no privacy when on the balcony

Very lovely place just in 5m from the beach and sea! Giant turtles just right on this beach - you can feed them with sea cabbage! Concerning the room - you can relax on your own huge terrace with the fantastic view on the sea and waves. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served just on your terrace. Very tasty food and drinks. Very friendly and welcomed stuff. Great bungalow with all necessary facilities inside with really open windows - you feel you living right in nature and on the beach. Squirrel visited our bungalow inside - it was very cute :) Staff provide anti-mosquito things.

No air conditioning but it was quite comfortable during the night. No fridge in the room.

Right on Turtle Beach, amazing view. Natural swimming pool in the ocean for swimming. Saw 10 big turtles. Staff extremely welcoming and attentive. Food delicious

A few mosquitos here and there

It was our first accommodation on Sri Lanka. We saw trutels and bioluminescent plankton which is unusual here. The bungalows were very clean and nice. Dipeeka with whole team are people which are making job with love. The whole atmosphere was just amazing.

We had the best time staying in one of Galawatta’s cabanas. I don’t know where to start trying to describe our stay there. lovely and friendly staff that by the end felt like family. Really looked after us and accommodated every need. Went above and beyond for us and we really appreciate everything they did for us. We also got married in Sri Lanka when staying in Galawatta. Our cabana was beautifully decorated with fresh tropical flowers and we were served a delicious dinner. we also had the best experience of swimming with turtles as they are in the ocean just outside of the cabanas pretty much ever day! can’t wait co come back and stay there again!

Amazing villa literally right on the beach with giant turtles steps from your door. Food was fabulous and staff went above and beyond to help with any request. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return!

This place is magical. Beautiful, comfortable and sparkling clean cabanas right in front of the sea, lovely staff and delicious food. We were greeted with ice cold fresh fruit juice and sent off with water for the road. They let us borrow snorkels for free, booked a car for us to Colombo, shared stories about the area. Most of the staff have worked there for 20+ years and have a lot of insight to share if you just ask them.

Great location on the beach. The lagoon/brake water means it is safe to swim (in March) at any time of day and there are many turtles. The staff were very friendly and arranged meals on our veranda as well as trips and transport to Galle.

I wish we could have stayed longer at Galawatta Beach resort, because this was our favorite relaxing spot of our entire holiday. The private property is very big with room for only 4 cabanas and 2 villa rooms, which makes the place even more beautiful. It is very quiet, located on the beach and you can swim with sea turtles right in front of the cabana. Because this popular spot, it can be crowded on the beach somedays, but it doesn’t bother at all because you have your own private property. Furthermore the manager and staff were very friendly and good to know: we loved the rotti and dahl and the vegetarian rice and curry!

That was the best choice we could make it the region. The photos speak for themselves but I would like to stress out that this is the only resort in the region that has a sea without waves, thanks to the natural pool just in front of it. Also, these huge turtles that you see in the photos are really there! Swimming with such huge sea turtles was a unique experience. An additional benefit of this resort is that the personnel is genuinely friendly and helpful.
