Other reviews mention similar things as below, and please note that pictures made it look a lot nicer than it actually is. I rang ahead to ask if the rooms had a mini-fridge. The older woman on the phone was lovely & said they can put one in the room, or I could leave food in their kitchen fridge labelled. The disappointment began at check in. The young girl at the desk was extremely dismissive & made me feel like an inconvenience. Yet I was the only guest around. She said there were no mini fridges. She gave me a room on the ground floor & I asked if it was a quiet section of the hotel, as I was staying 2 nights & working from the hotel. She assured me it was. She ended every sentence with "is that alright?" & made me feel rushed. I got to the room & it was VERY dated. The red carpet had a musty smell. The furniture was extremely old & had marks on it. I tried to close a window that was left open & the old, cheap curtain rod fell straight down. There was an old radiator in the room. The doors to the rooms all slammed & there was heavy footfall outside my room. I woke up several times both nights & it was one of the worst sleeps I've gotten in a hotel. Upon checkout, I had the same girl as when I checked in. She asked how my stay was & I said honestly not great, explaining it was dated & loud. I mentioned the mini fridge again & she questioned who I spoke to. I said the name, & she said there was no one by that name who worked at the hotel. Disappointing customer service

We felt that we definitely overpaid for our stay at this property. Supposedly a 3 star hotel, it is closer to a 2 star. Run down facilities, disappointing breakfast, definitely below standard for level of cleaniness and overall vibe: old fashioned, average food, etc etc. Positives: the leisure Center was better kept and we could enjoy the pool and there was a soft play area for the kids that was a nice touch (even though it was run down and very dirty). Photos of hotel on the expedia site definitely don’t reflect the actual state of the hotel nowadays.

Service and breakfast was good. The hotel itself however has seen better days. Seems to be undergoing renovations. Switched rooms because toilet didn’t work. New room was a bit modernized, but bathroom was just as old and moldy as the previous room. The men’s shower facility by the pool also needs an update. Moldy curtains. Game room features at several games that don’t work. Again, service was ok. But I felt the room was way overpriced for the end result.

The place needs updating especially the bathrooms. And Mattress. However staff at Front Desk , restaurants and housekeeping are awesome. Walkable to town . They also let me check in Early after our flight ✈️ that was the best!!

We stayed here on a recent trip to Ennis for a night. The staff were very friendly, bar and breakfast was great. The room was disappointing, there was water leaking from a spot light in the ceiling. We didn’t notice when we checked in as they had it taped up, so the issue was known when they put us in the room.

Very very basic hotel. Very old style. It’s a pity as it is in a good location to get to town so if it was upgraded a little it would be good. Rooms very small, only one tiny window, wasn’t very clean. Iron wasn’t working in room. Staff were nice and helpful.

Internet not working, one elevator not working, no hair conditioner provided , body soap to use as a shampoo. No extra pillows in closet, could only use an outlet behind chair for coffee make.. will never book again ..

Property was very tired. Rooms had lots of staining on carpet and bathrooms were old and poorly lit. Pipes squeeled upon use and bathroom sink continuously dripped. Property is great for those with kids, however not relaxing for those without as there were many kids in the restaurant and bar and running up and down the halls. Very loud at night.

Fantastic value for money. Great free leisure centre (pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room). Nice breakfast at a reasonable price. Hotel is a bit tired, but the bed was very comfortable. Can't argue with the value.

Rooms are really old and outdated. Not massively well cleaned. Overall the hotel feels run down. Breakfast was disappointing.

Our stay was adequate, that the best we can say, the staff on reception were very pleasant, but everyone else were rude. The room we were given was basic and just did the job, nothing like there photos on there site. It had cracked tiles it the bathroom mould round the bath. The carpets were very dirty and the bed was sunken on one side, definitely needed changing. For the price we paid we were discussed with it's condition. And will never stay there again.

Breakfast - 4 mornings- was the worst I have ever experienced from a hotel. One morning looked like a war zone after 3 coachloads had been there. All mornings no alternative to cooked, only bread and packet cereal. A real waste of my money.

Staff are excellent Good family hotel

Stayed here for work. The hotel was close to where I needed to be.. When I got to my room, the tv wasn’t working and the room was cold. I contacted reception to enquire about the heat and was told it had just been switched on and the room should heat up in a few minutes……. The heating never came on in my room! I did contact reception a number of times regarding this and nothing was being done…. No offer to change rooms. I eventually called reception and asked for a heater. Room heated I went to go to bed….. bed sheet was dirty! I asked the porter for fresh bedding and changed the sheets myself! We are in the middle of winter and a pandemic….. I don’t think no tv, no heating and stains on the bedsheets is a standard to strive for. Not to mention how the tv remote never seen a wipe of a sanitiser. I skipped breakfast purely coz everything else about the stay was disappointing

Quaint and convenient being literally around the corner from my father in law, but I feel as I felt 4 years ago it's a bit rundown. Besides the bar, I never noticed the other restaurants open and had no idea when the little cafe was open - everytime I walked by it was closed. The doorknob was falling off the bathroom door. I also requested a queen bed - which i got - except there was a single bed shoved in this room as well (128) which I could not figure out. And the fire alarm at 830am last week - could have done without that.

The hotel staff really made the difference! They were so kind at check in and check out. They gave us recommendations on local places to dine! They were so friendly and made it feel like home. The location is great, basically a straight shot to the Cliffs of Moher. On my next trip to Ireland, I will be back! Thank you Owen for being a wonderful host! ❤️

Had good time enjoyed hotel

Overall my stay was good, the hotel was extremely clean. The hotel could do with some TLC and modernisation in the bedrooms. The food was OK and there's not much verity on the bar menu in the evenings if your not into fish and chips, burger and chips etc. The staff are very polite and professional. The housekeeping made my daughters bed as in the photo and she loved it.

Staff and sevice are excellent. Rooms are dated and a bit grubby. Bathroom needs an upgrade. Leisure facilities are good pool is spotless.

Mix up with rooms. People walked into our room. Breakfast very basic. Hotel badly in need of renovation.

The room was very good but there could have been more things in it, like even a bottle of iced tap water in this hot weather. The dinner was very good but the breakfast was very poor. No proper cereal like muesli or granola, bowls of fruit that looked very like tins of fruit cocktail and the quality of the bread was poor too. The quality of the fruit juices were awful, obviously very cheap, Im not into large plates of cooked breakfast, and scrambled egg should be made on demand. On the positive side most of the staff were very nice and helpful, and the cost was very reasonable as against the appalling rip off prices I was asked for in other hotels in Clare. I suppose Ennis isnt really on the tourist trail.

Firstly we did not receive the room we booked, but we decided to stay in it. When we went to the bar for food pretty much all of the staff did not wear their face masks correctly which was very worrying as we are in the middle of a pandemic and guide lines are pretty clear for everyone at this stage. Staff behind the bar didn’t wear theirs at all even as they served people from the bar, lounge staff kept removing theirs in particular when they were speaking. Also getting tables cleared from plates and glasses was very difficult and we had to keep asking for the plates and glasses to be cleared, lounge staff would simply bring a new drink and leave the empties until we asked for them to take them away, very frustrating. First morning breakfast room was very clean and tidy tables and floor, following two mornings not so clean floors very dirty and whole room very untidy. Only upside was staff were in general very pleasant but lacked a lot of training/direction from management.

Have to say, the standard of food was a let down. Breakfast each day was awful, and the evening meals were only ok. Overall, a very decent stay.
