AMAZING time! We were greeted by Justin who offered a complimentary upgrade to a room in the Avalon House that came with daily breakfast and afternoon snacks at the Dewey House on the property. Thank you, Justin! Each morning at breakfast , Ophelia greeted us warmly and the woman making omelets always greeted us with a smile. We went in 3 of the 4 pools - all were great. The Pineapple pool had a DJ or other music. The Shores pool had music or a live guitar player. Both had full bar service with friendly staff. The beach right next to the Shores pool was never crowded with plenty of lounge chairs. Our room was beautiful and housekeeping was great. I’m usually one that winces at seeing resort fees, but the service and hospitality made it well worth it. Walking around Key West and seeing other options, we felt like we had the best location with the best amenities. We didn’t want to leave!

Clean spacious rooms, helpfully staff and it was nice to be remembered by some of the staff. Three pools to choose from and a great beach bar/cafe.

Staff was friendly. Place was clean and the beds where comfortable. Location was nice. 3 pools and a beach.

Wonderful location and amenities! Pools, cafes, activities and relaxation were outstanding! Only down was such small coffee cups in room. Good news is there are several coffee shops and great bistros nearby! Gym was very handy as well!

We had a lovely time here due to the delightful staff and lovely setting BUT(and this is a substantial BUT) the management should do a better job explaining that the “ocean view Balcony king” has a communal balcony on the other side of the walkway- there is no view from the room because you have to keep your curtains drawn or folks walking by can see right into your room. This was not what we were expecting- which could have been a problem- but honestly the staff was so excellent that you decide it’s not a big deal.which is a theme for Key West- come prepared to be easygoing- you will have a great time. And the resort is a very nice place to stay. Allen, Guillermo, Diane…just to name a few. Everyone I saw who was having fun was being nice to others. Folks who want to stake out chairs, control space, and “get theirs” you will be frustrated.

I find it necessary to write to you about my very disappointing experience at Southernmost Firstly I booked a room with an ocean view, I got that but it was a shared walkway - i did not see ANY photos showing a shared walkway Due to the shared walkway the area directly outside my room had some tables and chairs which were used by other people and this was directly in front of my room / view. (six feet from my window) This meant I had to shut the curtains and could not see the view, period, ridiculous Alexa moved us after my complaint, to a room which i would describe as a partial ocean view, not a full view because I had to go outside to see the view and I looked directly opposite to all the other rooms / balconies I was going to complain again but I was so irritated by the whole experience, I decided to leave it and write to you instead When I checked in and due to my status i should receive an upgrade but what i received was a room degrade. To add insult to injury i just paid over $350 in resort fees After spending over $1,000 + per night i expected much more from a hotel described as an international getaway

Beware before booking this resort! The extra fees are ridiculous! Parking it says 42.00 per day but actually it's 44.15 PER DAY due to taxes. Thee resort fee 56.00 per day for what??? You can't even get a chair at the pool. In addition to that they couldn't even give the courteous to let us know city construction was happening outside our hotel door. I didn't travel from NJ to the Keys to hear construction. AND I understand it's Not under the resorts control but at least comp us No parking fee or No resort fee. Paid an extra $500 when I left just on resort fees. My recommendation save your money and go elsewhere in the Keys I know I will be next winter
