We fully enjoyed our stay at Bird Rock. The room was small but very comfy. We enjoyed the shared deck and outdoor seating. Yes, it's a shared bath but both baths are very clean, with good showers. The lobby area and outdoor patio are charming and very welcoming. Expect morning street noise when early-morning ferries arrive with delivery trucks, but the hotel very helpfully supplies earplugs in every room. I'd love to return!

I loved the suite, having a patio, kitchenette, etc. Great location! Two challenging things . . . the staff could have been more helpful about a place to secure and expensive bike. They were just a big "no". I did have it on my patio vs. the entry courtyard. I popped it over the railing and locked it to my patio table. Also, very noisy room. Otherwise, a pretty fabulous place!!

My husband and I stayed here and we both really liked it. The hotel has a great and convenient location. Walking distance to restaurants, the Orca museum and the ferry. Communication is great even though is through text and email. We had a shared bathroom, which I was a bit nervous about. But the bathroom was clean and spacious.

Really enjoyed our stay here! Separate bathrooms were very clean and the location is great, Friday Harbor is very walkable.

The bed wasn’t comfortable and the TV was not positioned properly. Had issues with getting into room and bathroom. Anyone can come in while in use.

I think it should be clear that when booking a room, What level the room is on. For example that the hotel doesn’t have elevator access or that the room is on the 3rd floor. Room was clean and pretty modern. The bed could be updated as it was very low to the ground and mattress was a little uncomfortable (bumpy). It should also be noted that walking on The 3rd flight of stairs are not up to standard stair width (very narrow) and steep. People with large feet have to walk sideways up the last flight. Loved how checking in was remotely done. Keypad to enter hotel and room was easy. Main floor was well decorated and stocked with amenities like utensils, coffee, etc. 2nd floor had a dedicated area to log into a computer should someone need to access their information remotely. Great location and it was peaceful during our stay.

The room was great with shared bathrooms that worked out fine. The Keurig did not work properly and the coffee in the reception area was cold at the night and in the morning.

This was a last minute booking for my wife and I and we couldn't have been happier. Shared bathrooms and a very small but very comfortable room. The whole place was clean, quiet and inviting. The Bird Rock made no-contact check in so easy they just keep doing it, and it works beautifully. This is a place I will return to, for certain.

I am not going to take any points for the nosiness of the outside, it may not be the hotel’s fault. However, the cleanliness left some to be desired. Our bed was not made properly. The sheets were not even stretched properly, it seems like the maid only roll the covers and tucked them in. That in my view is not acceptable. He/she left the wet towels on top of the bed and were han hanged properly. In short, not cleaned properly. The noise was a BIG issue but we were told that in advance. We tried to use the ear plugs but, the noise was strong. Like I said, no points deducted from that area. Having the car on Friday Harbor is a big pain. You STILL NEED A CAR THERE so please don’t say that we shouldn’t taken our car. How else are you going to visit the state park and other things? Perhaps was the season but, there was only one decent restaurant Downriggers (I guess?). Many, many businesses closed or shutdown. Not likely I will ever visit again.

This was the perfect little boutique hotel. It’s location was amazing. One block from downtown and only a block and a half from the ferry. Very quiet incredibly clean, and everything you could need for amenities. Super cute and loved working with the staff. It was a most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. Our room even had a view of the harbor which was fantastic.

This charming hotel was just a few blocks from the ferry. Lots of restaurants in the area. The staff were very responsive. Quiet - the shared bathrooms were convenient. If you have trouble walking be sure to ask for a room on the first floor as there are steps involved.

Hotel rooms dont have private bathrooms. Our bathroom was 2 flights of stairs down, shared with other guests. I dont think Expedia should even list this kind of property in the same search results as hotels that have bathrooms, and should specificy "dorm" or "hostel". No elevator, so questionable ADA compliance.

Very cute and clean hotel in the perfect location! Staff was available via text message at all times before, during and after my stay. I just wish my room had AC!

This was a nice little Lower Floor Room, that was initially hard to find as it and another room had a separate entrance from the rest of the building. It was a nice little apartment style of hotel room with Kitchen facilities that came in handy, as many restaurants in the area were not always open when they would have liked to have been, due as we heard, to staffing issues. Luckily we were next door to a grocery store, so we were able to get food there to prepare in our room. The only complaint about this particular room (probably the only room with this feature), was that there was a very small step between the Living Room and Kitchen areas that we kept tripping on as it was so visibly unnoticable. Luckily we didn't have any falls, but this could be a hazard for an older, less agile guest.

Great facility. Needs an in-house breakfast in order to keep from waiting in the long restaurant line. Parking is a little tricky.

We stayed in Whidbey and found it very quiet (perhaps because suite next to us was unoccupied). Location was very convenient. The room looked exactly as it did in the photos, sparkling clean, and it has more of an apartment feel rather than a hotel room feel which made us feel more at home in the space. There was a microwave and mini fridge, and cups, plates, bowls, silverware in the drawers. We could have used more blankets in the room. The heater worked well in each room and was not that noisy old fan type, so that was nice. (We usually like to turn the temp down a bit more and sleep w more blankets.) Bedroom bed comfort was ok (we like extra firm and this one was softer) but the sofa bed, expect typical sofa bed comfort... prob fine for kids. Bathroom pleasant and had lavender scented shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soaps, and plenty of plush towels. Shower water was hot but could use a bit more water pressure. As other reviews stated, parking from 8am to 5pm is two hour parking in front of the hotel, but mostly we were out during that time, and the one morning in we drove it to another lot during that time so it wasn't too bad. Be aware that free bike rental might not be a thing in the off season so check w management about that if that is important to you. Lastly the online checkin and keyless entry worked well for us, loved our private entry in the back of the hotel, when I reached out by text to the hotel they were very responsive and made us feel cared for.
