It was not good at all the man at night was terrible to me and my family I was there to have a thing for Mother’s Day the ladies loved it some stayed on the property but he don’t need to be in the front

I was skeptical because of the exterior of this motel, however I was very pleasantly surprised upon entering the room. It was very recently updated and was very clean and comfortable. New bedding, paint, cold A/C, and a wonderful view of the water from the room we were assigned. The room is small but was perfect in every way. The lady the front desk was polite and check in was smooth. I will definitely stay here again.

The room smelled strongly of smoke, and although it’s nothing the hotel can control there were angry yelling people making the stay scary and uncomfortable. Also the breakfast is extremely limited, and the nighttime desk staff was cold and not willing to help with basic requests.

If you just need a place to sleep, this will do. The bathroom door didn’t shut well, we had a massive hair clump on the bathroom floor, there were mold stains all around the tub (not active mold it seems), and the beds were hard. Breakfast was prepackaged donuts and juice. It’s across the street from the beach, but there are many other hotels in the area that looked much better.

There are a lot of reviews of this place that don't do it justice. This Motel is an older style, but has been recently renovated. It's location is the absolute best. It's parking situation is the best.
The rooms are a little small, but the beds are comfortable and the linens were clean. I dealt with several employees during my stay and they were all nice or at the very least cordial. (The younger the nicer)
I will likely never stay anywhere else on Galveston Island. You'll never find a clean motel with this good of a location for anything less than double the price! Give it a shot!

Everything was great but we could of had a better breakfast than little Debbie snacks

The Econo Lodge was the nastiest hotel I have EVER stepped foot in. The non-smoking room wreaked of smoke. There was black mold in the bathroom, the sheets were dirty, the outside of the refrigerator was filthy and I would not have let a dog step foot on the floors. We did not stay the night. We left & went to a LaQuinta hotel similarly priced that was IMMACULATE. The owner/operators of Econo Lodge went to the room after our complaints and told us the room was clean & they did NOTHING. They did refund half our price but I would NEVER recommend it to ANYONE!

The property is apparently in the middle of being renovated. I think I was in one of the older units and I can see why they needed to fix it up. For the price it was hard to beat but it was definitely not the best of facilities.

the property was conveniently located, the rooms were small but efficient. The bathroom needs some work.

The property was being remodeled during our stay. We have not received a refund for being billed twice.

The door was extremely stuck and difficult to open. Key reader did not colorize to where it would notify in green that the door was unlocked. The floor was completely covered in what looked like crumbs. The bed was made however there were chip crumbs all over the bed making it unsightly. There were no towels in the room either. The lady at Checkin seemed extremely annoyed/bothered with us checking in.

The sheets were clean, but had cigarette burns. The room smelled like smoke (although not smoke). The bed was comfortable enough. The toilet was not bolted down on the floor, and every time you sat on it felt as though were going to tip over. The shower tap was not normal, and no hot water ever came out, and the shower floor seemed to be peeling away. The air conditioner/heater unit in the wall worked very well. There was some newer furniture and some very old furniture in the room. It felt like the owners were trying to upgrade, but didn’t want to do it all the way. There is no sign out front at all, as apparently it is changing from a Knight Hotel or something like that to an Econolodge as of January, 2024. The guy at the front desk was very nice.

I appreciated that they put me in a room away from the construction. Wi-Fi was problematic; it only worked if I was up against the door.

Absolutely horrible!! I never leave bad reviews however this place left 6 kids and 2 adults stranded at 1am in the morning after guaranteeing as they were a 24hr checking and would be there when we arrived. We talked to a women 3 times the day of arrival to inform about flight delays, and transportation delays due to accidents and wheather. Thanks God for the hotel next door who woke up and helped us with a place to stay at a discount price. They also told us this hotel does this often to the clients and are horrible to deal with. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING OR BOOKING THIS PLACE. STILL WAITING FOR A REFUND !!!

This is the second time we have stayed here. It’s not a 5 star hotel but it was perfect for my husband and I. Iour room was literally right across the street from the beach. I will stay there every time I go. I don’t have to have anything spectacular.

Perfect place to stay. Close to bars and food. Right across street from beach

The bad:
First of all, I feel like the pictures in their ads are either really old or photo-shopped. This place is very run down. Our door has issues unblocking with the key card, the phone only works off and on, our toilet didnt flush from the get go and we waited for about 1.5 hrs for someone to come and fix it. Now, its already running slow again. Also, the Wifi hardly works and the room is very dirty. (Smells of old smoke even though non-smoking room, stained sheets, shower gross, questionable stains on wall and behind toilet, a/c filters and pretty much everything else filthy) I would have left or asked for a different room but they already charged my card over $180 and they filled up with customers really fast after we got here. However, I would appreciate being contacted via e-mail for some kind of compensation.
The good:
The workers were nice and were able to get us in early after getting off a cruise ship. The location is good. Its right by the ocean and Paradise Pier. We enjoyed a great lunch at The Spot and visited a cute souveneir shop also. However, I could never recommend this place to friends because it was the dirtiest place we've ever stayed at. (Even worse than Motel 6) Sorry to be so brutally honest. I hate complaining, but I don't want anyone else to have the same issues we did.

Had a good stay and it is walking distance to the beach

The price was acceptable compared to the surrounding area prices which are outrageous. The location was nice but the bed did not fit the frame and was hard as a rock which made for a not so great night of sleep. There were stains on the shower curtain and the restroom was dirty.

I have stayed here 3 times now. The rooms are clean no roaches. No complaints with the rooms.I have always felt safe here. I enjoy having the ocean just across the highway.(seawall). The air conditioning in the room is great.

Great location...all we had to do was walk across the street to get to the beach. The bed was very comfortable and water pressure in the shower was great! They also let us check in early which was amazing and much appreciated! Our room wasn't clean and we had to request clean towels but we weren't expecting five star accommodations.

Little run down but a good value when you have one night before boarding a cruise ship
