The friendliness of the reception staff particularly Tania and John made us feel very welcome and our stay extremely enjoyable. Waking up to kookaburras and watching the kangaroos roam freely from our room was fantastic. The dinner restaurant menu prepared and cooked by John was delicious.

Have to be the kangaroos around the motel. Even had a Cockatoo tapping at my patio door to say hi.

Property canceled my booking minutes before we arrived, without a phone call, jυst a message, which I had not recieved. They explained that as we were to arrive after hours (which I had said to them a couple of days earlier) they required full payment, since that hadn't been made, they pulled our booking. I had no idea this was their preference. No where did I read this and as I said, no phone call was made to me to explain this! After debating this discrepancy, my family were allowed a room. The saga continued, the 'daily' housekeeping didn't exist. Our dishes sat, we couldnt use them for the following meals. The shower was dirty, with an indecisive water temperature, still had hair in the drain, hand soap spilt on the floor, floor hadn't been vacuumed, moved bed to the centre to tuck my daughter in to discover hair, food, rubbish etc down the side of her bed. Filthy! The only plus, the natural beauty of the grampians and the wildlife.

We enjoyed our one night stay. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Beautiful settings and superb views of the Grampians with lots of kangaroos around. The accomodation is comfortable but dated but this is reflected in the charges to stay there. Great Value for your money. We would definitely stay again.

Always stay here when in halls gap and will continue to do so.

From the moment we arrived our experience with the hotel was amazing . Friendly service excellent location and clean … we were surrounded by wildlife (kangaroos, deers, cockatoos, and kookaburras ) it was just perfect in every way . Thank you so much . We highly recommend it

The aircon did not work properly which is why we faced a lot of trouble sore throat,fever and the weather of the night was very cold The mountain view from the room was very disappointing and and this is the worst view i have ever seen as i have been different hotel in grampian various time A lot of insect came underneath the door which was very disturbing. Otherwise the entrance and front part of the hotel was nice

The rooms were very cold and the heaters were not strong enough to heat it. The bedsheets were stained so were the basins.

Definitely not a 5 star resort but you can see there is love for the motel and the guests. Appears to still require some updates in places however alot of updates have been completed recently and some detail upgrades could be focused on in the future.. keep up the great work and look forward to stopping past again soon. Staff were great as always.. :)

2nd time stay same best experience as first stay. Bonfire in evening perfect, kids called this place as Kangaroo party. They love it

No internet service,no toilet paper, they demanded $20 to clean the room ,No hot water in the night?it was awful

The sliding door to my room had a gap down the bottom which let in the cold breeze and had plenty of room for creepy crawlies to get in. The reverse cycle heating was insufficient. While it was better than nothing it definitely did not warm the room up. Thankfully the electric blanket worked well. Plenty of wildlife around the property with a spectacular view which made for lots of wonderful photo opportunities.

Excellent choice for wildlife encounter :D We love animals and we can spot them inside our room over the big glass door. Excellent design to balance the view and let your family to interact with animals under safe conditions. You can park right in front of your room and save the effort to move your luggage. The hotel is pretty easy to spot along the road. Don't expect fancy interior, it's clean and comfort. I brought my own shampoo and towels. The electric mat on the bed is a life saver and deserves a 5-star.

Our stay was short but good. They are organized. As we arrived late in evening after 6pm we have requested late check out at our booking, we have to re request again n again to persue felt a bit odd. Staff was friendly probably under presuure from management though it was not bisy at all. Environment is good. Beautiful location. Worth staying

The room was spacious and clean. It was a bit dated but this just added to the charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was really tasty and good value. The wildlife is right on your doorstep, literally, I opened the door and there was a kangaroo right there. Cockatoos everywhere and emus just strolling about. As a Brit on holiday, this was just wonderful.

Set in lovely grounds. The room like us was old and slightly frayed around the edges. It is in the midst of an upgrade though. The restaurant and bar area were a little dated but that was made up for by the fantastic staff: helpful, entertaining and welcoming. The bed rather sunk in the middle...too much closeness at our age is not that romantic. All in all no real complaints

Beautiful views of Grampians, nice and quiet and plenty of wildlife

For a property in such a nice location, we found basic maintenance to be disappointing. Jammed doors, taps that were hard to turn on or off, TV remote only partly working and half the power points didn't work. This was a standard room, so hopefully more expensive rooms fared better.
