The Madsen was situated in a beautiful location. The staff were thoughtful, brilliant and accommodating. The only issue I see is the accommodation needed a lift, however due to heritage restrictions apparently this is not available. This makes people with disabilities a problem. Would definitely stay here again, just need to ensure I booked lower level.

It was by the sea, lovely and quite, walked to dinner, the room was acceptable.

Location great for walking to restaurants. Unfortunately very noisy (delivery trucks at 6am) and no privacy as room window faced driveway at ground level so needed to have curtains closed at all times. Would choose differently next time.

A lovely and quiet place to stay in Penguin, Tasmania - a small seaside town on the North-West Coast of Tasmania.

Great spot! Could not fault anything about our stay. We will be back!

So relaxed and right in the middle of Penguin.

A beautiful property, the owners have done a fantastic job turning an old bank into a truely boutique Accommodation right in the centre of this wonderful sea side town.

If you enjoy listening to guests talking, walking around and going to the toilet then this is the perfect property for you. Bring industrial earplugs if you want to sleep. Property looks nice, staff friendly but hugely disappointing to pay hotel rates for motel standard

Room is in desperate need of repairs, bathroom sink cracked, big crack in ceiling above our bed and stained carpet. Very noisy hotel, as we could hear the guest in the room above us snoring and guests coming down the stars in front of our room being loud, which woke us up at 6am.

We had such a nice and relaxing time at this hotel, our host Phil was so helpful and knowledgeable about the area and made excellent suggestions of things to do in the area.

The Madsen was a lovely old building, but being old there where no lifts and had to carry suit case upstairs. The service was very basic. The room was not very big and was not value for money. Over all I thought it was over priced.

stayed in the Penthouse, spacious room with sea views and high tech devices, large spa bath and king bed. only down side would be the stairs to get access to the room.
