Excellent stay. Room has all you need, restaurant is excellent, beach close to walk to. We've stayed before and will go back again.

This place is fabulous! There are two sections, each one with its own pool. We stayed in the newer, two-storey section. We were lucky to get a room on the 2nd floor, which had a lovely balcony. We did a lot of bird watching from here, especially at dawn and dusk. We could also watch our kids playing in the pool. The room is clean and comfortable and everything seems pretty new. We had one of the best meals of our 14-day trip at the restaurant, which specializes in Argentinian parrilla. It's not cheap, but it's not outrageous either. We spent about $100 for 4 dinners (including drinks). Most of the folks at dinner were not staying at the hotel, so that's a testament to its quality. The staff was really friendly and hard-working. The property itself is quite small and has an "in town" feel, but it's such a small town that it's actually kind of nice. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Beautiful, clean, relaxing.

Location was great with an onsite steakhouse. New section of the hotel had 2 pools with plenty of tables and umbrellas. Really enjoyed my stay here with 3 other ladies. Only negative comment was one of the rooms the door did not close tightly at the top. A second mirror (other than the bathroom) would also have been handy. Hotel staff were very accommodating for a late check-out as well.

We traveled with family and had a wonderful vacation. Clean, very friendly staff, excellent service, excellent food. Would definitely vacation there again!

Clean, spacious, good food. Did have some ants, sprayed and took care of them, but what do you expect... it's Costa Rica there are insects there.

Although their restaurant was closed, the breakfast was very good, rooms clean, nice smaller pool for refreshing after the beach (which was walking distance and had Excellent waves and was very warm)

Great Argentinian grille next door! We liked the location and the room, but would stay in a different one if we went back because of kitchen noise. Room 6 is right next to the restaurant kitchen door. Pool is nice, also warm, which is a big plus for us!

We really enjoyed our stay at El Colibri. The cabins had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. We had maid service every day, which was nice. The pool was a lovely spot to cool off and hardly used. The cabins is a short drive to the beach which was great for our morning walk. There are two great food stores within walking distance. The restaurant is incredible, one of the best in Costa Rica!

El Colibri is an excellent choice for a week long stay in Playa Carrillo. Our kids loved the pool and were very comfortable roaming about the property and surrounding area. The walk down to the beach was very reasonable, as was access to the market and several small restaurants. Of course I need to mention El Colibri's outstanding Argentinian parrilla. We usually dine at different location every night, but we enjoyed the parrilla so much that we came back for second round. I thought that the hotel was an excellent value, especially with breakfast included in the rate. The owners and staff were kind, helpful, and welcoming.
