It was horrible hair in the tub, dead bugs in the bathroom it was terrible

The hotel advertised a restaurant. They didn't even have a continental breakfast available. I realize the place is undergoing remodeling. but really? There was NO chair in the room to utilize a desk for my laptop, the phone was not even connected to a cord to call the desk. The room door was very difficult to close, and then hard to open again. I was hesitant to even sleep in the bed with everything else in disarray. Had to carry the coffee maker into the bathroom to find an outlet to plug it in. The exit door at the end of the hall was NEVER LOCKED, so I felt quite vulnerable. There was nothing in the room to show amenities (TV Guide, restaurants nearby, etc) The hairdryer in bathroom was in pieces, but I was able to put it back together to use, It was not the relaxing sleep I wanted. Slept on top of the bed.

Place was discusting, filthy. Floor in the rooms were not even swept. Mattresses stacked up in the bar, restaurant, and pool area. No access to the amenities posted in the add. Do not go to this place. Went to the front desk saying that we wanted a refund because we wouldn't stay in such a mess, ended up the charged me a second billing insted of a refund

General cleanliness was awful. Hallway walls and carpet were filthy. Our bathroom was so bad that we were afraid to shower. Both beds in our room were broken! We got in late, we’re exhausted, and knew we’d be leaving early so it wasn’t worth trying to change rooms. Never again!!

After I made my reservation I received an email from the hotel manager that renovations were taking place at the hotel. Upon arriving I observed a note taped on the door regarding the pool and hot tub stating that the temperatures were off in them, and the receptionist told me they left the note up because the temperatures were inconsistent but were okay today. Upon entering the hotel itself it was disgustingly filthy. Extreme laziness and poor organization made the entire place one of the scariest places I have ever been. If we were allowed a refund I would have left. Glad I brought Lysol and my own pillows and blankets. The smoke/fire alarm did not have a cover on it but I was assured it worked. I did not shower in the moldy bathroom. I did not walk with bare feet. There was a sticky residue over the wood, and when I washed the table and bed frames the cloth was dark with dirt.

Honestly, we didn't even stay long enough to see the actual condition of the room. From the looks of the place, I doubt we'd have been impressed. (The actual hotel looks absolutely nothing like the photos, btw.) That said, we really weren't looking for anything fancy - literally just a room to throw a sleeping bag on a bed and get a few hours of sleep. So we checked in, but upon heading to our room we found the entrance to our room was in between a handful of shady looking characters smoking and drinking outside their rooms (at 1:30am.) We asked to switch rooms, but the only other two open were just a couple doors down from the group. When we went outside to head to the new room, the group had progressed to setting a fire on the sidewalk outside the rooms. We then read some reviews that suggested this place was only good for junkies with nowhere else to go... harsh, but sort of checks out. So, we opted to say "no thanks", returned the room key right then and there, and went searching for another hotel. It was 2am at that point and we were lucky to find one open room at the Quality Inn. Not much better in quality, but worlds better in safety. (No one sitting outside setting fires.) For what it's worth, the Comfort Inn just down the street from Travelodge was probably the nicest hotel we saw in the area and had really helpful staff. They were booked, but helped us find a safe place that wasn't. If I were staying in Gaylord again, I would go there.

They were very helpful and very nice. Good customer service but it was really nasty and smelled like died animals or something. Toilet seat wasn’t even on toilet. We understand they were remodeling but the smell was really bad and couldn’t take it. But would like to thank the counter for all their help.

Canceled the stay and went to another hotel, room wasnt touched by housekeeping, hallways stunk. Awful. Asked for our money back which i have to get from you guys, and they didnt even want to know why

The hotel is a little outdated and could use some tidying up (maintenance on the grounds). Also, our bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. As a former executive housekeeper, I frown when I see hairs in the bathtub. Other than that, It was ok for a single night stay

There was a dead fish smell by one entrance and trash spilling from the dumpster by the same entrance. Trash in the hallways and they looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in months. The only nice part was the pool area. Our stay was definitely NOT worth the money we paid.

This hotel is being renovated, and it should be closed during the renovation. It’s bad. Our room had mold on the bathroom ceiling, cracks in the walls in the bathroom, and the worst tv setup I’ve ever seen. The staff was courteous and that’s the only nice thing I can say about this place. I will never stay at this place again.

This place was filthy. It smelled like cigarettes and mildew. The pool water was brown. They are remodeling; stay away at least until that is complete. Even then, I would not stay again. The front desk staff were friendly.

Pool was still open, no food on site , we had to move room s112 to 118. 112 the bathroom door lock was broken and got locked in also the pool access door from the room wouldn't unlocked, also had construction debris in the walkway to the pool. We were moved to 118 the toilet was so loose it slaed dow after you used it, the room door to access the pool was so warpped that the only way to shut it was to slam it

Staff seemed high when checking in..... And you could definitely smell it. The property was dirty outside and inside. Found to beetles in room. Floor was sticky including the carpet. And the pool area was stacked with furniture from chairs to mattresses.

The entire hotel is under construction with materials and discarded garbage everywhere - it does not appear that any forward progress or improvement is actually happening, it’s in complete disarray. While the accommodations were subpar, the gentleman at the front desk was helpful and quick to respond with the multiple issues we had.

The property is under construction. Did not know that when i booked the room. Bedroom was way outdated. Found three ticks in the bedroom. Pool area was being used as storage. Place was dirty. We could here conversations in room next to us.

Exterior wall crumbling by door, metal door rusty, sticks, have to slam to latch. Tub doesn’t drain so 2nd person couldn’t shower. Solid window curtain track is detaching from ceiling and almost came down. Dead bugs/dirty windowsill. Noticeably deteriorating walls.

We had booked a room with a single king bed and got a room with 2 double beds.

The staff people were very rude. I checked in and then check out within the first half hour. I was threatened by one of the staff members and should have called the police on him. I will never visit this property again and will let everyone I know about my experience at the Travelodge in Gaylord.

Hotel under complete renovation after recently being acquired from American Lodge. The outside doors looked like they had been battered and they didn’t seal well. Rooms, beds and conditions of bathroom facilities were dirty and atrocious and the drywall and or concrete dust was thick in the air everywhere. Hallway carpets were covered in white construction dust and random public areas had piles of old mattresses. Tried a second room but the air quality and conditions continued to be so poor we had to leave. I was trying to talk to the front desk concierge and It was difficult to speak as I had no spit left in my mouth because of the dust! Horrible conditions! I was left coughing all evening, itchy burning eyes, congestion and still felt awful for most of the next day. The only bright spot of that day was the young front desk concierge who was very kind. Whoever owns that place and thought it was okay to rent out rooms to people amongst that mess should be ashamed! If I hadn’t prepaid I would never have set foot in it.
