One of the windows was unable to be closed and locked. Although this was in a very, very low crime area, we would have liked to secure the room when we left. The bathroom was small without adequate space to put "things". Generally, the room was comfortable and pleasant.

Fantastic stay. Rita was exceptional. Staff, room, and ammenities were only eclipsed by the view. I highly recomend the 1661 Inn.

Have stayed on Block Island many times over the years, by far the best property we have rented. It will be our go to in Block Island from here on out. Its association with 1661 Properties was a big plus, lots of benefits and one of the nicest buffets breakfasts on the Island.

We loved that it was an old house remodeled to what we are used to now...everything was wonderful. We will be back for sure!

Great room! Towards the front of the house so you can hear people on the porch. Comfy bed. Definitely need to request more TP in the bathroom during your stay because they give you only one roll. Convenient Bike racks in the front !

Staff are fantastic! Friendly and professional. I love the cottage, very cozy and clean. Breakfast is terrific especially when Rita came around with fresh veggies from their farm across the street from the 1661 Inn. If I were to have any complaints it would be hot water. It’s been years since I’ve stayed anywhere where the hot water disappears when your neighbor turns on their shower. It’s an easy fix. Also, maybe a chair in the room. Doesn’t have to be big or elaborate, just nice to sit and watch tv or read without having to mess up the bed. Oh yeah the bed could use a new mattress. It’s a bit saggy. Overall the place is nice. I will be coming back, maybe to stay at the Inn.

Enjoyed our stay at the Dodge House. Location was ideal, close to town. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Housekeeper did a great job making sure we had clean linens every day. Especially liked sitting on front porch! Breakfast at the 1661 every morning was an added bonus!

Tough to check in up the hill at 1661 only to go back but worth it. Great location close to everything in the town center.

Great location, right in town. Room was very clean. Had a private bathroom, AC and floor fan as an extra bonus. The staff at 1661 are so nice and accommodating (even after checkout). They kept our bags and gave us beach towels and offered their showering facilities after also. Breakfast is included too w bottomless mimosas!! We had a great time. Would definitely stay here again

We stayed at the Dodge Cottage, which is just down the road from the main 1661 Inn. It’s an adorable cottage, very clean and quaint. Only drawbacks we found were the tv was very finicky, and also the exterior walls did not have good soundproofing being an older building with old windows. People were outside talking on the porch at night and in the morning and it sounded like they were almost in our room since we were up front on the first floor.

Overall, it was a lovely stay. The 1661 Inn staff was amazing as was the included breakfast! The location is also a big plus. The only somewhat negative was the mattress/bed which my husband and I did not find as comfortable as as hoped. Also, there were knobs missing in one of the bureaus with the screws sticking out, and two cracked light plates. Little things, but am abit surprised by that. However, I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful the staff, location, front porch setup and the breakfast were!!!
