This hotel is a great place to stay with a family. Convenience stores close by, grocery store walking distance and Shinjuku station close by. It was nice to stay close to the station but a little out of the chaos that is the station hub. Laundry on site, there was always machines free and detergent is included. Dryers take a long time to dry but the rooms include hangers for drying so we used that often. Staff was amazing and so very helpful during our 11 day stay. Kitchen was stocked with the basics and there were more appliances to borrow in the lobby as needed. We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and we will always look to stay at Mimaru hotels when we visit Japan.

Great stay

Friendly staff when checking in and out, let us know everything we needed about the hotel. Large laundry room with a lot of washing machines and driers that are coin operated. The room we had was huge! We really liked having the kitchen, able to have light meals there while sat at the table on the tatami or the western style table and chairs. We were on the second floor (first floor if you’re British), we were facing the busy main road and we couldn’t hear the road noise which we were surprised about! Not a 5 star review as the beds were a little bit too firm for our liking and we could hear the automatic voice in lift. It would be nice if the floor announcements on the lift could be turned off, or be made quieter after 10pm. The location is great, took us around 10 minutes to walk to Shinjuku station and it was around a half hour walk from Harajuku.

It was a really great hotel. Although it was far from Shinjuku Station, it was the best accommodation that was easily accessible by WE BUS.

This hotel was comfortable enough for a family of 4. The family room had a kitchenette and we each had our own single bed. Shower and toilet were separate which was great. The area was nice and quiet and about a 15min walk to the JR station and the shopping district. Some lovely restaurants and a 7 eleven were within 5mins walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. When i realised i left my shopping in a taxi, they assisted me in tracking it down. Love this country and highly rate this hotel. Only downside was that the week we were there it was extremely hot so even a 15min walk felt like a lifetime when you are hot and exhausted.

Lovely little apartment hotel, good facilities, comfortable, good value, a large room for Tokyo and well maintained. Desk staff were consistently helpful, and would absolutely look at a Mimaru again. Particularly worth considering if a family, which the rooms are well set up for. Very mild negatives - it’s a little bit of a walk from Shinjuku station (about 10 mins, but not unreasonable for a city hotel) and the laundry was not the best.

The amenities were new and we took a bedroom for 4 and had a wonderful stay here. Located on the quieter side of Shinjuku, this place is suited for families, JR line is a bit of a walk like 800m away but works for us as I was travelling with 2 teenage girls. The beds were comfy and we had good space in the room. Modern setting - has everything you need really. The shared washers and dryers on level 2 makes clean laundry a breeze 24/7. Makes for a great base if you are travelling to other parts of Japan and wanting to come back to Shinjuku. The hotel can store your luggage for you at 5,000 yen per day per piece. This is also an excellent location as there is direct airport limousine at the Washington Hotel just behind this apartment - 3 mins walk away so zero hassle making your way to either airport. Overall, superb stay. Will be back again for sure!

I stayed with my wife and two girls. Girls loved the bunk bed. For Tokyo where space is limited this felt very big. Very affordable as well. Highly recommend

Rooms were spacious and good enough. Hotel is at least 15 minute walk from Shinjuku JR trains, not ideal during the summer. What my complaint is the constant threat that staff gives to guests. 1000 yen if you lose card( we didnt lose a card but heard this numerous times with other guests) I’ve never heard of a hotel charging for lost cards, at least they dont say it in your face. 5000 yen for checking out late. We left the room 7 minutes late and received a call threatening a 5000 yen charge. Although we never used any extra cleaning service anything outside of the scheduled room service will also be charged. Feels like the hotel cheaped out on staff and made the customer pay for every little thing. Checking out 7 minutes late was our fault however the staff could have been more tactful instead of always using money as a threat, just makes the hotel feel cheap, especially after giving them our business for 11 nights. If you’re going to charge premium rates stop acting like a cheap hotel and give the guests the benefit of the doubt instead of threatening them with all these extra charges. What could have been a great stay was offset by the hotel’s insistence to continually remind us of extra charges like we are children. Do better for your guests’ impression of Japanese hospitality.

Superb location. Modern, clean, and spacious rooms. And the thickest and softest bath towels in all of Japan!

Great place for a longer stay. Close to Shinjuku station with no traffic / train noise (12th floor).

The hotel is about 9 min walk to Shinjuku Station and pretty much close to everything. Just FYI don’t leave anything on the floor or the house keeping well think of it as trash.

Very comfortable and clean hotel with plenty of space for myself, my husband, and two teenage sons. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being close to public transportation and plenty of convenience stores, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance. Excellent service, location, and amenities. Highly recommend.

Clean and new hotel with all the amenities we need during our stay. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, they always try their best to help facilitating our queries and issues. Walk to stations and shopping area is reasonable. Definitely looking forward to revisit this or the other Mimaru branches again.

Old building, No AC in hallways of each floor. Like the coin washers and dryers. Like the room space but the building is very old and dark in the hallway. Family member got bitten by either mosquitoes or bed bugs or spiders. Would not come back.

We had stayed at another Mimaru and the comfort is really good. But for some reason this Tokyo spot had the softest mattresses ever! We could have wished for harder ones.

Very clean and nice staffs

I stayed for two weeks, the hotel only cleaned the apartment fully only once the entire time I was there. The property only took trash and changed towels daily and every third day day they changed the bed sheets.

A great option for families - with bunk beds and a small kitchenette. It’s a 12-15 min walk to JR Shinjuku with small children. A range of convenience stores nearby - Lawson, 7 Eleven and FamilyMart (for the famous famichicki)

Friendly and prompt customer services from the hotel staff whenever we asked for help. Hotel located within 15 minutes walking distance to the Shinjuku station. We especially enjoyed the in room microwave and dinner table which made trying various convenience store bought foods very easy. While the hotel itself was very clean I have a minor complain about the constant odor coming from the toilet room, it was probably due to the old pluming system.

Excellent that we can borrow kitchen utensils for cooking. But the mattress is quite poor not much elasticity. Also, there is no place to hang clothes in the shower toilet, which is not convenient. Hope these can be improved.
