We loved our stay here and the staff was wonderful! Would definitely stay here again!

We had a handicap room. We unintentionally booked this room. We checked with front desk about switching. Unfortunately there we no rooms with king bed and bath tub available. This was fine. The issue we want to bring to your attention is when the shower is used the drain isn't set up correctly or the shower curtain needs to be longer as we had to mop up water from the floor each time we used it.

Nice, clean new fresh well appointed property. Only problem was the bed was too soft and the linens did not smell fresh

Site states pet friendly but you really have to look closely for the additional $75 fee information for the pet non refundable deposit. Found out at check in.
I’m new to taking a pet with me (12 pound pup) so not aware that additional NON-REFUNDABLE payment would be added, even if no damage or mess was done by the pet.

No fault of the hotel but be warned, this hotel is on a very busy street. The traffic from Mission was loud enough to interfere with a good nights rest for.

Overall the stay was great. The room, staff and location were excellent. We particularly enjoyed walking two minutes to the Westside neighborhood with all of its delicious food and drink options. We will definitely choose to stay at the Hampton Inn on our next visit to Santa Cruz.

Clean, great location in a nice safe neighborhood. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We loved our trip here and the hotel was an easy drive to everything. Plenty of parking too! Bed and pillows were comfortable too which was a plus.

Room not cleaned despite sign that said every other day; when pointed out to staff, they said room was only done every four days; had to remind them of their own policy and then they didn't work with me on another time to have the room cleaned. They did send up a person and I got towels but they did not clean the other room we had for my family. Nothing on website indicates their cleaning policy

Very nice hotel. Water was turned off during night but was restored quickly in the morning. Noticed dog doo near the elevator.( Dog friendly) hotel. Urban Neighborhood. Not sure of safety of area but experienced no problems.

Beds are about as bad as sleeping on the ground and the TV is in the middle of the room to where you have to turn on your side to see it. Not comfortable at all when sharing a bed. I was in such bad pain in the morning! Why hotels do give you the options of picking a soft bed or hard bed is beyond me. That’s the one thing most people are paying for!! I want be using them again for my trips there

This was a beautiful property . On a return visit I would request a room in the back as the street noise is loud . The rooms were excellent and clean . Large bathroom . Breakfast was so good and convenient.

We had a great stay at this property! It is immaculate, nicely updated, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is on a main drag, and since we faced the road I was concerned about noise but there were only a few incidents that were bothersome. It’s a great location! Short walk down to Safeway, coffee shops, breweries, and burritos. The coast is a straight 15 minute walk and was wonderful for a morning walk with our dog. The boardwalk and beach are a short drive, but just note that you can’t see the ocean from the hotel. The complementary continental breakfast was nice with eggs, bacon/sausage, breakfast potatoes, waffles, and cereal/yogurt/juice. Good coffee, too! All in all, a nice stay.

Everything was perfect, the cleaning staff was super friendly, rooms were clean and well taken care of. my low rating is because the manager is rude. When I did the check in, the lady in the front desk charged me again for my room when it was already paid for through Expedia, not a big deal, but wanted to make sure that my card wasn't double-charged so I asked the morning after, that's where I met the rude attention from the manager

Great location for walking or biking around Santa Cruz. Close to everything! The rooms are somewhat small, and the beds are not that comfortable. However, the convenience of being close to downtown makes it a great place to stay for a few days.

Great staff and very clean. One thing was the water in shower was lukewarm, didn’t get hit. Would’ve notified the front desk, but we were exhausted and didn’t want to risk moving rooms if that was the alternative. Other than the water issue, great hotel and staff in an awesome location.

Great location and the room was clean however the bed and pillows were not the best. All the pillows were very flat. The mattress is on the firm side and it has seen better days. You hear some noise from the cars but it's not terrible. Microwave and refrigerator is a plus. 24 hour coffee downstairs was great.

Great price for great location. Our shower had mold in the shower door track, but the rest of the room was clean. The bathroom has is a "barn door" style which did not stop sound and was slightly uncomfortable. Overall, would stay again.

Liked the modern decor and cleanliness and wonderfully comfortable bed and linens. Didn't like room location facing noisy street. Also room temperature was difficult to get room to a comfortable temp. There aren't any instructions on how to control thermostat other than calling front desk.

Had a great stay here. The room was clean, updated and comfortable. Our car was safe in the open parking lot and the hotel was able to hold our e-bike overnight. Unfortunately, we booked only the week before move-in weekend at UCSC and the rate was exorbitant.

The fridge wasn’t cooling and I wound up having to leave early (the night before I was planning to leave)because my medicine spoiled and I wasn’t going to have what I needed for the AM. It’s a real bummer. I truly enjoyed my stay.
