They were able to accommodate a late check out. Area around the property has a lot of construction so parking was a challenge but overall excellent. Thank you.

Great lodge in a beautiful place. Staff was great! Restaurant was a little over priced but convenient and good food. Rooms were a little small but cozy and comfortable!

Our bathroom door needed fixing. The housekeeper, Sara, was very nice and the room was clean! It would have been nice if the restaurant was open when we were there. I would come again.

Check-in was staffed by server in restaurant. Morning staff seemed much more "connected" with the hotel. Quaint log cabins from the 1940's, small but comfortable. Very thankful for the frig and micro. Very clean. Porch chairs were a nice touch. Room numbers have been painted over and are very difficult to see. Parking is tight, but we were able to park right in front of our room. The restaurant posted a notice saying they would not be open the next morning (disappointed) but staff recommended another place downtown for breakfast.

Nice place to stay after a long day of fly fishing

At check in the clerk was rude and not helpful.

No one told us we had to change out our towels daily. There was no hot water for 2 days. Bed was uncomfortable!

Nice little place. Service and staff in bar/restaurant is excellent. Keep your expectations low for the cabins and any services for your room.

Ater an initial rocky start with our original cabin (electrical issues) at the Sportsman, we were comped a room in another facility owned by the same people. We ended up staying at the McAllister Inn for our stay. Beautiful facility. Still, I would urge the ownership of the Sportsmans Lodge to tear those original cabins down and build new modern cabins. Those cabins have been there at least 50 years and have been outdated for 30.

It was a good stay, just very overpriced.

Great place

I really liked the quaint cabin and the location of the lodge. The bed was a bit uncomfortable for me but that could be because of my back. I do wish there was a mirror in the bedroom. I also recommend when booking to make sure and get a cabin away from the bar. Some of the other customers were quite loud and didn't consider lodgers. The food in the dining room was very good and large portions. The staff was top notch and very pleasant to work with.

Room stunk like cheap body spray

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant/casino was great with a good selection of food and drinks. We would definately recommend a stay at the Sportsmans Lodge.

This was a cute little place to stay. Only thing I think could be improved is by having a piece of wood above the air conditioner so the hot air isn’t being blown in. The staff were very kind. Our power went out and they had it fixed in less than 5 mins! We will stay here again on our next trip to Ennis!

The town of Ennis is great. The Sportsman was within walking distance of town. Cabins are being overhauled but #9 was not yet started. With that said we would stay there again but only in one of the cabins that were already done. Bar was great, enjoyed our service there. Front desk young women was not the friendliest. We had booked cabin#9 but upon arrival we’re told we were now in #10. Couldn’t give us an explanation as to why it changed and that’s what it is. We didn’t indulge in one but the homemade cinnamon rolls looked amazing. Met the baker and he was very nice.

Cleanliness, Service,Staff. All was wonderful.

At check in the receptionist was polite. After that at the restaurant and especially the bar the service was awful. If you were a local you were given courtesy & great service, but apparently tourists aren’t welcome. Be sure to check your bill at both places items were added to my bill. There are several other charming rustic locations in the area. I’d make this one a last resort & expect to be treated poorly & review your bill.

The room was okay but didn’t have enough pillows. The bathroom door was utterly disgusting. A good cleaning and coat of paint would help tremendously.

Our cabin was clean and what we needed after a day of fishing. Shower, bed, and relaxation. Ate at the Sportsman Lodge restaurant. Great food and friendly staff!

no one to check us in. Had to go find someone. Parking was bad. The restaurant was closed for a event. Water from another room was so loud we could not hear the TV. We would not stay there again .

Very comfortable and relaxing. Each cabin has two units side by side with private entrance and little sitting area in front.

All the Staff were very friendly and quick with response to requests! Excellent!!
