We had a wonderful stay at Malcolm's home in Moneta, VA. The house is lovely and in a great location to get to a wonderful restaurant within minutes and a general store that has everything from fresh veggies to homemade donuts. And everything in between. The ride to get to a grocery store is about 15 minutes. And they have the best park in the world in Moneta for dogs to run around for acres and acres. Malcolm's home was very nice and had two distinct levels so that multiple families could stay. The yard is wonderful and the lake views were beautiful. The kitchen had everything you could need and was well stocked. As it was winter we didn't do any lake activities but imagine that this house would be splendid for that. The surroundings are magical. We had a heron land right at the edge of the water. Sunsets were amazing as well. I highly recommend Malcolm's place to stay for a wonderful trip to visit Smith Mountain Lake.

The property was as advertised. The owner was so good to work with and the house was in the perfect location for our annual fall fishing trip!

This home was perfect for us! It had everything we needed and more! The house was spotless and the yard was perfect. The furniture was super comfortable inside and out. We loved not having stairs to the pier. The oak trees drew tons of squirrels and deer providing entertainment for our dogs. Malcolm was very responsive to all our communication. We’d definitely stay here again if returning to SML!

We enjoyed the house and grounds, it was pretty quiet and we liked the view. The flooring proved to be a little slippery for our senior pup, Malcolm was very kind and offered to try and fix it but we were able to improvise a solution. We found the house to be everything we expected and Malcolm was a great host. We would definitely recommend staying to our friends.

What a great place to enjoy a multi generational family vacation. Everything we needed was available. Communication with owners was awesome. Location on the lake was awesome. We used the firepot, the dock, the water mat, the paddle boards, outdoor gas grill, dock. You name it we tried and used it. We loved our vacation. Highly recommend to anyone.

We have been to SML several times and this property was by far our favorite. There are so many properties that have really steep steps from the house to the water or that have obstructed views. This property is about as flat as you can get at this lake and the views are awesome! The house was clean, the layout was great, and the furniture was really comfortable. There was plenty of seating for our whole family. The bunk room was INCREDIBLE and perfect for our granddaughter. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed and we also used the gas grill. We were also able to bring our dogs with us, which we were very appreciative of. This property is close to great places to eat (Jake’s is our favorite). We rented a pontoon and were able to easily dock at the house. Another bonus was the ice cream boat that came up to the dock in the evenings. You can listen up for the music or track them online. The swim area in front of the house was great and the stairs made it very easily accessible. The swim area is set back far enough that we did not have any issues with the boat traffic. There were plenty of kayaks, vests and paddles and they were in great shape and kept in the garage so they were ready to use, which we did daily. Lastly, Malcolm was a great host!! He responded so quickly anytime I reached out to him and answered every question I had about the property. He was wonderful to work with and has done a great job updating this property!

This is a great property! Everything was as pictured in ad. A lot of new renovations! The kitchen was well stocked. Everything we needed. There were great views from the decks. So many water toys and kayaks available! It was great having a dock for our rented boat. Neighbors we met were very nice. The restaurants had different schedules so probably easier to just cook at home! We did manage to try out a few though. Enjoyed them all! People very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

Have been down to SML multiple times so was familiar with the area the house was located. Very central to the roanoke channel with easy access to the mountain or around the blackwater side to Crazy Horse marina Incredible property with every amenity we could have asked for. Floating dock and boat house are in great shape. Communications with owner were incredibly easy. Hopefully will find myself staying there again :)
