This is our second stay in this stunning house and it absolutely wont be our last. We are a mature group who enjoy the ambience and spaciousness of the house and its location. In fact it's a home, and that's how it feels stepping in through the front door, it is amazingly welcoming with the host having an open fire blazing for us on arrival. We were also well stocked with logs and wood to keep the fire going through out the weekend. The outstanding views and gardens have a country, 'away from it all' feel, but yet it is so close to 'Stroke City' centre, lol. We adore coming to Fountain Hill House to let our hair down and recharge. It is a very special place to visit, with an exceptional host in Michael, were nothing is any trouble to him. Thanks for having us Michael, see you again hopefully soon 😊

The house was great and for a large party served all our needs. Michael the owner was attentive and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Highly recommend.

A gorgeous house that's also a well loved family home. There was plenty of space for everyone, we were a family party of 13 adults and 3 small children (4 generations) and with 2 large sitting rooms and dining room we were able to spread out. Also good for hide & seek!! The garden was lovely and the boys were able to play football in between the many showers! And the views over the city were beautiful. Michael was very helpful and had lit a fire for us, and left plenty of logs & coal. He also told us the history of the house.

The house is a bit hard to find, even with Google, so make sure and ask for directions. Be aware that Derry is hilly and the house is up a very steep hill, so taxi might be needed, or drive up & down and park at ebrington!! My parents also found the stairs a bit of a struggle up to the bedrooms, as they live in a bungalow, but managed.

This is a beautiful house with lovely grounds. Lots of space and reception rooms. Comfortable beds, everything we could need in the kitchen. Michael was extremely helpful and welcoming.

The location and size of the house was great for the purpose of our visit along with the garden area.

I wish to raise a few issues that we had with an accommodation that I stayed in recently. I, along with another coach stayed in an accommodation from 16th-19th July with 13 girls from our under 13 team, the host was aware of this. During our stay a number of issues arose as detailed below: 1. The host had his dog staying in the basement throughout our entire stay. The dog which appeared to be a black labrador was only let out of the basement by the host once/maybe twice per day for very short periods. The dog barked constantly throughout our stay, understandably it was probably frightened, and we would be concerned about its welfare if this is a regular occurance when guests occupy the house. 2. The cleanliness of the home was not to a high standard, there was dog hairs throughout the house, especially on the carpet and we had to ask the host to leave us a hoover, the host hoovered the carpet whilst we were away one day but within a few hours the hairs which are probably embedded in the carpet reappeared. There was also dog hairs on a window sill in one of the bedrooms. The kitchen utensils were not clean, some of the glasses had cracks in them and there was mould on some of the dishes. The bottom of the kitchen bin was also dirty. The host had all his personal food items in the cupboards which were very untidy. 3. There was two showers and two toilets in the home but only one toilet and one shower was in use. One of the toilets wouldn't flush and one of the showers only stayed warm for one shower. This was far from ideal with 15 of us acquainting the home which the host was aware of. There was also no bins in the working bathroom downstairs from a sanitary point of view for ours girls not good enough. 4. The dishwasher wasn't working, the host said that it was due to food blocking the drainer but continually after that it was still not working regardless of rinsing dishes. 5.

The property was spacious which suited our large group of three families. Plenty of outdoor space along with a great view of Derry City. Good privacy too.

Great house. Great space. Well located. Very ameniable host.

Guests found it a little strange that the house was ordinarily lived in, and felt a little imposterish. Also a few issues with hot water in some of the showers. Would definitely consider for again.
