We went for thanksgiving and it was amazing! Wish we had went in the summer. Swimming would have been great. We had 10 people in our party and the house accommodated us well. Garden of the gods was an hour drive from there and we visited twice. It was beautiful waking up and drinking coffee with the wonderful view of lake Egypt. The beds ranged in firmness so there was something for everyone. Host was very nice and house was stocked and clean. Dollar store was within 15 minutes and there was an ice cream and souvenir shop close that we also visited. Great stay over all and host informed us there were upgrades coming soon.

This property was so wonderful! My sister, friend and I will be back next year! It was so cozy, clean, and relaxing. We made new memories there and decided it was such a great time that we would be back so that we can visit more locations around the area. We sat by the firepit in the evening, we did not get a chance to go Kayaking but hopefully next time we will! Gerald was such a wonderful host, very friendly and knowledgeable! I recommend this property to everyone!

Let me start by saying that this home is beautiful. It is very well decorated, has all the nicest ammenities, (beds, coffee pot, chairs, outdoor seating, stove, fridge, etc.) and we felt at home. There were special things we did not expect like snacks, coffee, and popsicles. There was a launch for kayaks if you want. I spent all day Saturday cooking on the pit. The gazebo is amazing. The owners wanted nothing more than to make sure we were happy. And it showed. Both in communication and in the small subtleties in and around the house. I could go on and on, bit I won't. Bring your family, bring a couple of friends (like I did), but stay here. Did I mention we cooked breakfast on a Blackstone, on a coverd patio, while we over looked the lake.

This property gave us the ideal place to rest and play in a beautiful setting in a beautiful area of the state with more things to do than we had time for. The accomodations were 1st rate and exceeded all our expectations. Wouldn't think twice to return.

Gerald was a great host who demonstrated exceptional care in preparing to ensure that guests have a quality experience. The towel warmers, available snacks, and overall attention to detail serve as evidence of his hosting excellence. The property is well maintained and in a beautiful location. Having a washer/dryer with all supplies provided was a plus as well. Gerald was very helpful and professional in our interactions. It is no surprise that he is a “Superhost.” Thank you Gerald.

Had a wonderful time! Plenty of room and you took care of every comfort and amenity item that we could possibly need during our stay. Gave us lots of info up front and tips on local boat rental, which we did rent a pontoon and had a wonderful day out on Lake of Egypt! I will give the location, property, and host 5-star ratings and we will definitely save this in our trips folder for the future.

We had an exceptional stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. It was apparent that the host truly values providing an excellent experience and to that end has provided everything needed for a fun and comfortable stay. Everything was pristine as if new. We appreciated great and prompt communication from the host who made himself available but was never intrusive. We hope to return soon!

My family and I stayed at the Eagle’s Nest Chalet over Labor Day weekend as a last hurrah for the summer and had a wonderful time. Gerald is an excellent host, thoroughly communicating everything we needed to know to make for a perfect weekend. The property itself is beautiful and exceeded all of our expectations. Plenty of room for the eleven of us and tons of privacy from the neighboring properties. You’re peacefully surrounded by trees, with only a view of the lake. The amenities were a huge plus too. We had a great time kayaking, canoeing, and swimming off the dock. We could not have asked for a better setting to close out the summer with family. Thanks Gerald!

My wife and I met up with 4 friends from college. Gerald was a great host. He provided information on the wineries and hiking trails nearby. We enjoyed the lake and rented a pontoon boat one day which was delivered to and picked up from Gerald’s dock. Great experience overall.

The chalet is a great place to stay. Everything that is needed and more - knives that are sharp, towel warmers, snacks, games , kayaks and so much more. Gerald is so welcoming and Larry was so helpful. Getting kayaks in the lake for us, preparing the fire pit and offering to help us with luggage. We can’t wait to go back
again. Highly recommended!

We had 4 adults & 3 children spend 6 nights at the Eagle Chalet. Communication was excellent from the owner Gerald & contractor Larry.
Larry oriented us to the property including the dock. He helped my husband access the boat ramp so he could dock it. The grandchildren ages 5-14 had a blast swimming, paddle board & kayaking. We used the fire pit but missed out on the silo fire pt because the days were so full. Gerald let us know of restaurants accessible by boat. We utilized the kitchen & grill with all we needed - I had brought several items as with past experiences elsewhere had identified needs but did not need to. The location is close enough to also do other things with great parks. Great place with Gerald & Larry very accommodating for any needs!!

We enjoyed our stay at this Chalet so much! Easily the best host we have ever had through VRBO! Check in with the house manager was fantastic and all through the house was extras that were extremely awesome!! The house itself was great too! Clean and very accommodating! We fished and used the paddle board, kayaks, and lily pad to have fun right around the dock there at the chalet! We rented a boat one day and enjoyed being able to dock at the chalet for lunch. We will be back to this place!

We enjoyed all things lake, kayaking, swimming, and relaxing, even some star and satellite gazing. I wish we had spent a whole day lounging at the lake. The variety of song birds around the house is impressive. The location is great for visiting many Shawnee National Forest/State Park sites.

We had a wonderful time at the property situated on a quiet cove in Lake Egypt. They went above and beyond the day we completed our booking by answering and giving recommendations to all my inquiries. Gerald (the owner/neighbor) and Jerry (property manager/neighbor) met us at the property upon arrival. While Jerry helped unload our luggage and food, Gerald gave us a tour of the lake house. No small detail was over looked. We were pleasantly surprised with the complimentary breakfast items/snacks. The quality of the sundries was appreciated. Jerry was quick with fishing recommendations and was always available if we had any questions. Though the property is already wonderful, they were/are making improvements to it. The store leading down to the home were recently done. A new path with lights was made to aid in accessing more shoreline. They told us a new dock was being constructed and they intend to clear the flat area between the house and the shore. We were very pleased with our stay and if we come back to Lake Egypt, we will gladly stay here again.

We fell in love with this chalet as soon as we stepped in the front door. Our party of 4 had plenty of indoor and outdoor space to unwind in comfort. All the additional thoughtful touches added to the charm of this lovely home in addition to it's gorgeous view of the lake. Gerald and Larry went above and beyond to our needs and we felt totally spoiled.
Look forward to coming back in the future. I've been told of some exciting additions to the dock and pathway.

I have nothing but good things to say about this property and the owners and workers that helped us during our stay. These people were more than accommodating and willing to go above and beyond for absolutely anything we would have asked for. My girlfriends and I had an amazing stay and will love to come back, hopefully sooner rather than later. The silo in the backyard is adorable and a great place to gather and enjoy an evening outside, rain or shine! Can't wait to come back when the summer hits!

The Chalet was more than we expected! Absolutely one of the best I’ve stayed at. Very clean and well appointed. All the comforts of home! Beautiful views of the lake and the changing colors of the leaves. A very peaceful and relaxing visit! Host Jerry, and Larry, were great! They made sure everything was just right! I’d highly recommend this lake house. The house itself was very clean and perfectly set up for our arrival. It’s set on a quieter section of the lake which was really peaceful. Gerald was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. There were lots of things to do on-site, fishing, kayaks, canoes, games and a fire pit and the location was great. We will definitely rent this place again next time we visit the area.

I can't say enough good things about Larry & Gerald. Great people who made us feel right at home. They made sure our stay was perfect! Every detail is covered. The property is beautiful. Great location close to everything you could possibly want to do. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and you can't beat the peaceful view of the Lake. We were all sad to leave! Perfect place to have all the amenities of home but be able to ejoy nature. We will be back!

We have stayed in numerous VRBO houses across the nation and The Chalet is the best! Host Gerald is incredibly accommodating and helpful. His maintenance manager was extremely friendly and available to us if needed. Gerald has created a home that is welcoming and relaxing. It felt like we were in a resort! Nestled in a cove on Lake Egypt we had access to many water activities and privacy. Gerald provides many ways to enjoy the lake and is planning to add to the dock area next spring and that will be incredible. The house is spectacular with numerous places to sit outside and enjoy nature. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room for sleeping, enjoying meals together and being outside. The decks and sitting areas are lit nicely. No mosquitoes. The kitchen is well supplied - with complimentary water, snacks, coffee and cereals. Again, more than any other VRBO that we have experienced. The driveway is steep but our car had no problem. We had a great time and will be back! Thanks to Gerald for providing such a lovely place.

This place is a beautiful chalet lake house on a secluded lake with lots of privacy. There is easy access to hiking, water sports, wine trail, relaxing, nature and more.
Owner is amazing and goes to great lengths to make sure you have what you need to enjoy your stay. I would highly recommend and plan to visit again.

We enjoyed our stay! The teen boys loved fishing , canoe and kayak. It’s a relaxing setting, the yard is private and great for an evening by the fire pit.
The house was cozy , clean and stocked with everything we needed. The hosts go beyond what we expected! Friendly, helpful and greeted us for a quick tour .

Our host, I should say the "team" did a great job. Delores and Larry met us at the steps. Everything was great. They greeted us and showed us the place. Then, later Gerald checked on us and didn't hesitate to address anything we needed. These folks go above and beyond. Larry had a grill put together and Delores had all kinds of snacks and goodies neatly organized. We will be back for sure.
