We had a delightful extended family gathering in this home over Thanksgiving week, with 15 of us comfortably fitting in this home. Great location on a gorgeous stretch of OBX beach. Fun hot tub. A minor detraction was that the house was not particularly well supplied with certain kitchen items (forks, food containers, bowls). Would happily return though.

We kept watching all the people staying in the houses across the street lugging all their beach gear down the street everyday to the periodic beach access points and were so glad we had our own private access to the beach! Also, our part of the beach was less crowded the areas by the public access points which was nice. The pool and the hot tub were also nice to use when a break from the ocean was needed. Although the house was a little outdated on the inside, we didn’t spend too much time inside! Even if we had to there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out!

We had a magical week! The photos in the listing are accurate with one exception: as previous reviewers noted, the property is closer to the beach than it looks, which was a bonus! We had two 75 year-olds who had no problem getting up and down the steps to the beach. Our beach area felt very private. The pool was clean and a perfect temperature. We had five young children ages 3-8 swimming in the pool + sometimes adults and there was plenty of room.
The house itself felt very secure and safe. It is a bit weathered, as the photos show, and is decorated like a typical beach house (just the basics - not luxurious like some of the neighboring properties). This was fine for our group with so many little kids tracking sand in and out. The A/C worked great, with thermostats to adjust the temp by floor. When we arrived there was no vacuum or hangers. We told the management company, who promptly dropped some off the next day.
My only criticisms of the property are 1) the beds were uncomfortable and VERY loud and 2) we were responsible for purchasing EVERYthing we needed during our stay. There is no hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent or cleaning products of any kind. We purchased Swiffer Sweeper Wet Pads and 409 spray for our stay. There are only a few wine glasses and no cocktail glasses.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The ocean views are breathtaking and the location can't be beat!

the freezer would look like it was closed, but it wasn't closed completely. maybe the seal is getting bad. we did lose some of our food because of it.

We had a group of 10 adults and 7 children stay in this home, and our stay was perfect. The home location and access to the beach was something I’ll always look for when renting again. It was like we had a private beach and not having to lug things anywhere but up to the deck each night can’t be beat. The pool was a perfect spot for when you didn’t make it the 50 steps to the beach too!
We didn’t really use the game room on the first level but it was perfectly equipped and well maintained. There is also a closet with plenty of beach and pool gear there to use - even though we brought our own.
Each room having its own bathroom was another feature that was pretty great with such a large group.
The house itself might not be the biggest or the newest on the block but it was absolutely perfect for our group and we couldn’t have asked for a better week together!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The ONLY things in the house that don’t need updating are the appliances. All the furniture is not only old, most of it is musty smelling. Most of us adults went out and bought pillows as soon as we got there. The ones on the beds smelled very bad and we were afraid to use them. The bedding is nothing but an old bedspread like you would find in a cheap hotel and some sheets.
The house was very poorly cleaned upon our arrival, which I did report to the management company. However, the house just really shows its age. The staircases are narrow and steep) not recommended for anyone elderly) and the carpet on them looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years.
The TVs they advertise are all antiquated with canoes running all over the place. Yes there is a game room, but again, everything is in poor shape. We purchased some WD 40 to get the foosball table working properly.
I could go on, but I think I have painted a pretty good picture. I cannot understand the higher ratings here unless they are from people who haven’t stayed at other beachfront homes or VRBOs in this price range.

The location and house was perfect for our family. We had such a great time. I had thought we would use the game room however being that close to the ocean, we spent our time exploring the beach, city and enjoyed meals together in dining area. The space was great when we needed to spread out and have down time. Lots of beach items to use. Beautiful and perfect location in the middle of the public access to beaches so it was not over crowded. Watching the sunrise from bed was amazing. Prior to arrival, the hosts were extremely fast at responding to our questions.

Terrific location with private beach. Very quiet the week we were there as things just opening for the season. Listing was accurate and great to sit on deck and listen to the waves crashing.

The pictures accurately reflect the house except for one thing; the beach is much closer than it appears! The house was clean, the kitchen is well stocked. And though the listing says there aren’t any beach or pool items provided, the first floor closet is full of boards, floaters, sand toys, and chairs. There are also now 2 infant flotation devices. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying here! Great location, lots of beach in front of the house away from the public beaches. We had plenty of space in the house to eat meals with the family. We saw sunrise and moonrise come up from the ocean from the third floor deck. We watched sunsets from the third floor screened in porch on the front of the house. The pool was perfect to cool off in when you’re hot, the hot tub was great when you were cold or wanted to just relax. The steps over the dune to the beach weren’t too bad, we had grandparents with us that could go back and forth without trouble. The kids went ghost crabbing almost every night. We rented a golf cart and could take it to food lion or ice cream through back roads when we needed to take a quick trip. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to your family as a perfect getaway!!

Overall great. Location cannot be beat if looking to stay on north end, close to everything you need. Only consensus of critical feedback would be to update beds/bedding as most are outdated. The stairs can be a bit much for anyone elderly or with health issues but that is par for course with most OBX house rentals for large groups.

Our family is growing quickly and we need a place that would hold 10 adults and 5 children- this place was very accommodating. We enjoyed being so close to the ocean/beach and despite it being off season the weather was pretty good most of the time. The kitchen was well stocked with all things needed for cooking except we did have to supply dishcloths and dish towels.

This home met all our needs and more. The view from the top floor was gorgeous and everything in the home was in great condition. We traveled with 8 kids aged nine and under and they had a blast. Easy walk to the beach, pool in great condition and the game room was a big hit. Would love to stay here again!

Great location to see the horses also beach is awesome. Drawback, jeep rental is 50 minutes away, local beach dwellers at horse location are not as friendly as 3 years ago. Also problem with tv in game room kept losing signal and had problems with some remotes.

I had a wonderful time, the house is in the perfect location! Nears shops and restaurants. Also it’s about 10-15 min the 4x4 beach where you can get a day pass to do some 4 wheeling. The owner was great any little problem they came through right away. Clean house, beautiful Beach ! I would come back for sure.

We felt like we had the beach to ourselves. The house was perfect. Everything was just easy even with three little kids. Our dog was in heaven. I have never had such a relaxing vacation.

The pictures do not do this place justice. We loved the keyless entry on the lowest level to the game room and bottom floor. There were so many ways in and out of this house it made the flow with 16 people easy. There was nothing we did not use - the pool, the sand deck, the upper deck, the hot tub, pool table and game room, all 3 living rooms, front screened in porch, breakfast nook, shed, and more. We have rented in OBX before, however this house was the best yet! The house is in the middle of 2 public beach access points which pretty much gave us the beach to ourselves, closest group was 50 yards away on a busy day! We could bike or walk to the food lion and 2 shopping plaza's. Lighthouse and driving on the beach was less than a couple miles away. Kitchen had everything we needed. We had an issue with the spray nozzle at the kitchen sink, we fixed it, the property managers were attentive and great to work with. We had our elderly guests on the top floor where there were 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, like an inlaw suite. This was nice as they cannot get around very well. My mother in law did not leave the top floor for 3 days and loved every minute of the views and ability to be with people, have her own space, near the kitchen, etc. The middle floor has 4 bedrooms, 2 with attached bath. There is an odd bathroom in the hallway with a small stand up shower. It worked for our older teens, and we all shared when needed.
The pool area was really nice. We set up a tent, had some floats and pool balls. We filled it up a few times to keep it as needed, the hose is right there and set up, that was nice. There is shed to put things in, bring a lock if you want to keep stuff secure. We kept most things in the house or cars, that was mostly due to the hundreds of teens in the area for beach week.
There is an area outside to sit and cut up fish if you like. We just stored out shells there.
There are 8 doors out the back and 2 out the front. We kept the front locked most the time and the back fully locked at night. What was nice is we could fully lock up and people could still come in the bottom keyless entry way. Parking, there is big driveway. We had 6 cars and no one was parked in and we stayed on the driveway. 2 refrigerators, one in the kitchen and one in the game room. We kept drinks and ice in the lower level and food upstairs. We brought frozen meals for 4 nights, so this worked out well. . 2 laundry areas.

This property lists the top floor has 2 bedrooms with "queen" size beds. There are 2 bedrooms, but they both have "full" size beds not queen size beds. There are a few loose nails on the boards of the walk to the beach and in front of the outdoor showers. But with all the little things we would have still rented this property. You could not ask for a better location, it is located between 2 public assesses therefore the beach in front of the property had very few people. To be able to sit on the top deck drinking morning coffee while watching the sun come up, and then also watch the dolphins play from that same deck is simply amazing. It is close to shopping, restaurants, etc. and if you just want to spend all day at the beach you can do that do. We will be back to this same rental property.

Loved our stay - you can not beat the views this place has!! Watch the sunrise from the living room or decks - can hear the ocean all night long.. Property was very clean and kitchen well stocked.. Will definitely be coming back again.

This house is in a great location! We basically had our own private beach! The kids had a great time! Very kid friendly with an added bonus of a highchair for my daughter. ( I forgot her booster seat for the chair so we were very happy to see the highchair!)
