We had a very lovely one night stay in the Buckhorn Cove room. Overlooks the ocean. Loved having a real coffee pot with good coffee in the morning. There was a personalized note with a bottle of local chardonnay waiting for us. The staff/owners could not have been any nicer!!

It's a beautiful spot

The location is fine and the ocean view was beautiful. We caught a full moon over the Pacific. But the place had an over abundance of ants despite our effort to keep it clean. It was not cleaned well before we arrived.
Staff was friendly and accommodating, but outside of being a place to sleep, nothing much else there.

Very clean and quiet very relaxing

Great property of cottages. We got the water tower cottage with the hot tub and spent a grand night at the Inn. We even watched the last bits of the sunset on top of the water tower. Would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat!

The floors in the unit were not in good shape, including a hole that could let bugs come in, and there were bugs in the room, walking around both ants and other kinds of bugs as well as spiders and extensive spiderwebs on the ceiling directly over the bed. The air conditioning was broken and there were no fans in the room and none available at the front desk when requested to move that area around so the room was stifling Lee hot

My dog loved it here! Fenced yard and a big field to play ball.
Quiet and relaxing. Great staff at check in.
Shower molding needs cleaning but I didn’t mind and took off my eyeglasses so I couldn’t see it. Sure would be nice to have the spa back

We liked the view of the ocean, although foggy.
We we really disappointed in the water pressure and how long you had to wait to get hot water. This with signs all over about saving water!

The property looks a mix of victorian and art deco styles and smells of honeysuckle right now 😄🙂 as well as a gorgeous view 😊

Initially very good communication from the property, then when I had feedback or questions before checkout I received no response. The heat in my room did not work even with the Troubleshooting tips given to me on the paperwork, and the fridge made a ton of noise that kept me awake much of the night.

View was good. Bed was comfortable. Despite loads of instructions, they were not completely clear.

The room itself looked nice, just like the pictures so very picturesque. I loved the little patio, the welcome surprise, and the ease of check-in since it all self-check-in style. What I didn't love and me and my husband really struggled with was the horrible bathroom (shower looked as if it was falling apart, took forever for hot water to come, and the showerhead was really bad), the horrible wifi (would connect for maybe 1-2 minutes before dropping, even when connected would be really really slow which sucked since there was no service in the entire area), and there were so many loud noises during our stay. While it looked great, we just really would not stay here again because of those issues. If you don't mind those issues, it is a decent stay for the price.

We had a wonderful time staying at Schoolhouse Creek. Perfect for traveling with dogs. Our cottage was clean and very comfortable. Grounds are beautiful. Staff is friendly, helpful and eager to make your stay excellent.

Lovely facility with quaint updated rooms in a beautiful surrounding.
We had a lovely view of the Pacific and a great place for your pups.
Lot's of fine dining in the area too.

We loved every minute of our time here. Great view of the Pacific and surrounding forest. Our room was comfortable with everything we needed. The dogs loved the fenced yard. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with good appliances. The tub was relaxing and the bed was super comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck watching the deer grazing in the meadow and listing to the waves crash. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a beautiful collection of lovely little cottages spread over and up a hill in Little River, near Mendocino. Most every cottage has stunning views of the ocean from balconies, decks or even a tower. The staff are so welcoming and friendly to travelers and their pets. There is a large grass meadow for dogs to run and play. It’s kept clean and well-manicured and the whole property is so well-lit that you feel comfortable walking around both day and night. The property is beautifully landscaped with wildflower gardens, barbecue areas and a pond. The pool/hot tub were not in service while I was there, but my room had a large spa tub…so relaxing! The bed was one of the most comfortable on which I’ve ever slept. My dog seemed to think so too! I felt so relaxed and we enjoyed The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek and nearby activities so much, that I was reluctant to go back home! I’m looking forward to my next trip!

The sink in the bathroom barley worked, and the sink itself was dirty and stained. The view was pretty but right next to others.

Our stay was superb at SchoolHouse Inn Pomo cottege. Nice stocked kitchen. Lots of space and nice hot tub that fits people.

This is our second time at the School House Inn staying in the Pomo Cottage. We love everything about it ( privacy, hot tub, kitchen, dog friendly) except the bed. I don’t recall this bed last year so i think it’s pretty new. It is Rock hard, my husband compared it to worse than his military cot, that’s how terrible it is . However, some people like hard beds, we’ll be back but definitely will be bring a mattress topper :).

The location is easy to get to and the setting is lovely. Even in the cold, I enjoyed the patio and listening to the ocean. Unfortunately, it was not for me. The bed was too high. There was no chair for sitting at the pull out leaf of the table to eat or use my laptop. I arrived at 7 at night when staff is not available so I had a bit of trouble finding my room, walking in the dark on uneven ground. The bathroom ant attack was not a fun way to begin my day. Not their fault but ruined my experience.
Most people will find this place delightful. I was coming off a grueling week and had I 22 hours to relax. It just was not a comfortable or relaxing experience for me.
I considered just letting it pass and not writing a review, but I know I rely on honest assessments to choose my stays. And I hope it helps the Inn be successful in their customer service.

This is a quaint collection of buildings set on a gently-sloping lush green hillside, and our room was cozy and comfortable and offered a view of the ocean. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay!

Exceded my expectations. Pacific Viewroom gave great privacy, ocean view from upstairs bedroom, greatfull kitchen with gass stove for cooking, fenced back patio. With outdoor seething upstairs and down to each the sunset. Warm fireplaces upstairs and down keep the house warm and cozy however to make noise at night as the house cools and heats up again.

This Inn is a “best kept secret” for those who haven’t yet stayed there. The innkeepers go out of their way to make the entire place dog friendly, even leaving personalized notes for our little puppy. Clean and comfortable rooms and our Captains Watch room had a view of the ocean and we could hear the waves throughout the night. Wonderful place!

Perfect little cottage for the two of us a 50 pound dog! Definitely planning on coming back.

We had the Captain’s Watch Deluxe Room. It had the perfect view out to the ocean morning and night. The area was quiet and serene. This is our first time here and we will definitely be back!

Only issue was in room spa tub was not working (or there was a water shortage??) Also, spa on the property was working. Coffee maker had to be removed from the shelf it was on in order to fill it. Difficult since it was plugged in.
otherwise room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

Quite, nice, relaxing. Great property.

It was disappointing that, having specifically reserved a room with a jacuzzi, we found a card that read, "This tub is out of service". I feel management should have informed me ahead of time. They called me a couple of days before arrival to ask questions (name of my travel companion, whether we had a dog) and could have warned us the facility we had reserved was not available. Although we were told they would give us "a small discount", the point is that we felt we really needed the jacuzzi for after our long hikes, and that situation detracted from the pleasure of our vacation considerably.

Beautiful view, and friendly staff. Leaky faucet despite the signage to help conserve water.

The place is very nice and very relaxing.
Just need to fix the chairs and bed. The bed sqeaks every time you move. The chairs' legs are falling apart.

The grounds and the room were gorgeous. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. I wish the restaurant and spa had been opened, but the stay was lovely. I highly recommend this place and plan to return.
The Captain’s Watch room was perfect.

Super great spot to visit the beach with your pup. The fenced yard was so great to have with our cottage and we used the bbq one night to make dinner. Would love to return!

My family enjoyed our stay at Inn at Schoolhouse. The front desk was great reaching out early prior to the trip to make sure we have everything we needed for the stay. The 1 bed room cottage was comfortable for 4, has kitchen for light cooking. Hot tub is nice after a day of hiking and for sky watching at night. The whole unit was not on level ground and actually slightly slanted, which makes me dizzy for the first 2 hrs ... other than that, it was perfect for my family trip.

The staff at the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek was very friendly and attentive. The room had everything needed to make the my stay pleasant and comfortable. There were a few things that could use and update but overall very nice. It will be even better when the restaurant is reopened (even if only for take out).
