A pleasant hotel with very friendly staff. Lots of shopping areas around, and walking distance from the train station. Got a simple room which is not large but still of reasonable size. It had a proper desk to work, a wardrobe and good wifi. The only downside in my opinion is the water saving shower head, that blows so much air that it's cooling you (maybe nice in summer but not in winter).

We were there to attend a high school reunion, and the hotel was a reasonably priced option for everyone. The location couldn't be more convenient. The breakfast was very good, although I would have preferred the bacon more cooked. The service was excellent throughout the hotel. I recommend the street-view rooms over the less expensive courtyard ones if you are staying more than one night. We will stay again for sure.

Location is terrific, about one block from the Cathedral and still walking distance from the train station. The staff is friendly and it is almost supernaturally quiet at night.

The hotel is a little old but comfortable with modern conveniences. It sits at the bottom of the main street for shopping and restaurants with a nice view of the cathedral across the street. Very easy access to a few restaurants — all walking distance. It was a couple of hot nights with no air conditioning so we had to open the windows. It was a bit noisy with some late night traffic but it died down and we got good sleep. Staff is superb, friendly, and anxious to help. Can’t ask for a better stay in sleepy (?) Fribourg.

It was ok for a night, not the most modern, or best kept hotel.
Breakfast was OK.
All this could be because of the church bells waking me up on the hour, every hour... not the hotel's fault, however if the room had an air conditioner, i'd have had the windows closed...
Nice town, and the hotel is well located. Parking is a bit hit and miss though.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the Fribourg Altstadt. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is well worth the cost as the selection and quality rivals many other hotels where I have stayed. The hotel has no dedicated parking but on street parking can be found and the staff will explain how to pay for that. I would not hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to Fribourg.

Wonderful location! Beautiful town. Lots to see, convenient for walking. Our room faced the Pl. Notre Dame and Cathedral St. Nicholas. Is parking next door, can buy pass at hotel. Ask staff as you can time purchase of pass to suit your needs; parking is free overnight. We loved it here.

Lovely hotel. The best breakfast! Wonderful comfy bed mmmm so good where do you get those pillows??!! Friendly and kind staff. Wifi not good on one of the days but then it was great again on my last day. Perfect location near the old town and super bars and restaurants nearby. Best place to stay in Fribourg no question.

The hotel is really convenient for the centre of Fribourg. It is walking distance from the station but is also within an area that has multiple places to park (really handy for my friend who had a car). Our room had a view over the cathedral but we could walk to the city walls and the old town. The staff were helpful and friendly.

I booked a superior room and my room was NOT as described and on the pictures. The pictures I saw while booking were showing a bright and large room with a separate sitting area. My window faced a wall and the only equipment available was a desk and a chair (on which the lamp was broken). I mentioned this to the staff and instead of a solution or an apology, I was met with indifference and with an explanation that I was wrong and that my bed was apparently a few centimeters larger than a regular single bed. You can do better...

Excellent location. Close to the gorgeous old town. Easy to get to everything else. Quaint old hotel with rooms of a slightly more modern decor. Comfortable beds. Was a little noisy if you left the windows open from some traffic out the front so maybe would ask for rooms towards the back of the hotel next time.

We were in the room facing the town square. the two, beautiful, huge churches had some amazing bell towers. They rang and unsleepable levels every 15 minutes, all night long. One of the worst nights of sleep in awhile. Be sure to get a room that does NOT look right at those two church towers.

Great location in city centre, but that includes traffic and church bell noise. Not air conditioned, but with windows open for evening, then able to close them and use provided fan at night, outside noise not an issue. Very comfortable beds.

At the centre of this very cute little town. The hotel was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The only thing they can improve on is installing a/c and a fridge. Street parking can also be a little difficult to find, but we loved our stay overall

Since there was no air conditioning open windows was a must. Unfortunately between non stop church bells from multiple churches and rowdy people screaming, honking horns, and causing a ruckus not much sleep at Hotel De La Rose.

It’s an excellent hotel, but we were there during a heat wave. With no air conditioning, providing a sheet rather than a heavy duvet would have been better. Breakfast was good.
