loved the peaceful location in the single rooms across kerelec. Room was great and gound level.. enjoyed small tables outside. great access to pool, lobby and ice through the back door across kerelec street. very close to the french uarter.
Only recommendation would be to put some hooks in bathroom to hang towels, clothes, etc.

Room about 1/4th size shown on website. No amenities. No daily service. Even a chest with paper wads under front legs because of unlevel floors.

Staff was friendly, room was dirty as soon as we got there. There were things inside the room that were broken. Housekeeping never came, never brought toilet paper, towels…
The bed was comfortable. The area is nice and the parking is convenient.
3.0
Great location! 1 block to all the activities of the French Quarter and 1 block Frenchmen St. Definitely has old world charm but a little shabby. They are doing renovations, so it should be really nice once it’s all fixed up. The pool was out of commission which was unfortunate.
2.0
The room didn't have a microwave and refrigerator. In addition, the cable TV in the room didn't work. The chair in the room had a large stain on it so it wasn't used and the dresser's top drawer wouldn't stay closed. For the amount of money that is being charged to stay here, a microwave and refrigerator should be in the room. The cable TV should also work, especially after the staff was informed about it 3 times. The only plus was the location, walking distance from Bourbon Street and several bars/restaurants in the area.

Very close to bourbon st, awesome history!

The hotel is historic and the courtyard was beautiful. The location was central but quiet and the employees were nice and helpful. My only concern was the room. It was very small and in need of some minor maintenance. All in all, I would stay here again.

Incredible place. Jay was fantastic as a host. Great pool and Jacuzzi. Would absolutely stay here again.

Grabs quite is best.
They’re up construction on some rooms happening. I do not consider that a negative it is what it is. An old mansion I don’t judge it negatively for being old.

Fantastic location next to the jazz clubs of Frenchmen Street. Convenient private parking at a reasonable cost.
Unfortunately, no breakfast is served, and renovation work underway. But we need to be reminded that it has to be done from time to time…

We stayed for a week at Lamothe for Halloween festivities, 2023. The checkin process was effortless, despite some logistics challenges with the ground floor salon hardwoods being refinished. The grounds are lovely, with a beautiful courtyard, and small pool and hot tub between the main building and the rear building where our room was. We took advantage of the hot tub and pool a few times, and the water was always clean and clear. The king-bed room where we stayed was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, a great AC and heat unit (we used both), and room for our luggage. It was quiet and dark and we had no issues with noise from either the street or the hotel. The room only had external windows on the door which were covered with blackout curtains. This might make some people feel claustrophobic but to us it felt cozy. To our delight, we were steps away from our favorite club on Frenchmen Street and within a half mile of drugstores, restaurants, and the craziness of Bourbon Street. Suggestions for room improvement would be to include a mini-fridge and a desk. Suggestions for hotel improvement might include offering a king bed room with a kitchenette. Otherwise, we loved the property and will seriously consider it for future visits due to amenities and location.

I think the next time I stay there I’ll request a room on the second floor. It was quite noisy in the mornings on the first.

A lovely property with an enclosed courtyard with a jacuzzi, situated on Esplanade. Easily walkable to Decatur and Bourbon Street in a quiet street.
This is the second time we have been here, and the staff are wonderful.

This hotel was not the typical commercial hotel. It had charm and reflected the neighborhood. The staff, especially Gregg, were great. I had a problem with the location of my room. Gregg handled it immediately. I would definitely stay there again. Location was perfect

This is our 3rd stay. The property is conveniently located to the French Quarter and around the block from Frenchman's Street.

Very cool old fashioned building with nice garden and pool areas. The stairs to the 2nd floor are a killer for us old folks, but loved the antique feel. Very quiet.

We loved our four nights at Lamothe House! Our room (in the main building) was spacious and clean and overlooked the courtyard/pool area. Hotel location is perfect with easy walkable access to the French Quarter as well as Treme, Marigy and Bywater so lots to explore. Registration desk (which yes is up a spiral staircase of about 20 stairs, but no big deal) held our bags before check-in and after check-out for a few hours. Greg at the desk was very friendly and helpful! Keurig in room for was such a nice amenity. We can't recommend enough and will be returning!

We had a nice stay at the Lamothe House. We arrived in town early and when we called the staff (Greg?) said it was no problem to drop our car and luggage early if our room wasn’t ready. Turns out the room was ready so they let us in early. The room was good. We were in #115 in the old carriage house. It lacked a mini fridge and microwave but otherwise had everything we needed. Parking, if you need it, is just out the back gate and across the street. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

It was beyond terrible! we check out with 3 of our 4night stay left! The manager Andrew would not even refund us the days even after we explained how terrible everything was. We arrived late at night the first night, and the front desk girl she was pleasant, until she started telling us how the place is haunted, and how sometimes she is uncomfortable finishing her shift and has to go sit in her car! At that point, we knew we felt un easy, and did not want to stay. We brushed it off, since it was late and needed to sleep at that point. We got into our room (107) and oh what a pleasant surprise we had! The room is not what they show in their photos (they must have given us the worst one onsite). You walk in, and you have to literally hop straight onto the bed in order to get in and close the door. The door barely closed properly which is a safety issue in my opinion, then the almighty bathroom! DUST everywhere, and the tub was disgustingly stained! The water pressure in both the sink and tub were basically droplets of water. The bathroom door does not close completely so you have to do your business with the door unlocked and open. Then, trying to sleep at night was simply a disaster it sounded like someone was plowing snow, but it made it so uncomfortable to sleep. There were large roaches everywhere outside the door, and the front desk was never around in the evening to pick up the phone or assist when needed. So we left and went to the Monteleone which was a major upgrade!

The Lamothe House is truly a gem tucked away in a great location. My spouse was excited to bring me here after staying on other trips with family. It gives a real taste of the New Orleans lifestyle and history. We will definitely stay here again.
Things to know. One, it's a very old building and exudes NOLA charm and character. If you're looking for a luxury experience or modern accommodations there are other options in town that may be better, but if you truly want to be a part of the city and culture stay here.
Two, the location is great, my spouse is a lifelong second citizen of New Orleans, and she chose this as the perfect center of the French Quarter. Easy walking distance to everything and just far enough away to be quiet.
Three, the staff were all exceptional, we had a small issue with our room lock and they bent over backward to have it fixed quickly.

Comfortable room in a good location. Nice pool area. Bathroom was so-so, toilet was inconveniently located in a small nook which was a bit uncomfortable to utilize. Room itself was very nice and had good AC. Bed was very comfortable.

Loved our stay at the historic Lamothe House! Remember, it is an old, historic building. We stayed in a courtyard room. It was comfy, enough room, and right out to the pool (which was wonderful in the heat). Staff were friendly and helpful, nice area to walk to a lot of places but out of the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street. Beautiful courtyard.
