This hotel was perfectly located for our visit to the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quay shopping and Portsmouth and Southsea train station.
We stayed here for 3 nights with our 6 year old grandson.
The room was ok, with the sofa bed down (our grandson used it) as a bed the room was cramped but we were only using the room to sleep so it was ok.
Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a great time in the dockyard and would definitely consider this hotel again in the future.
The only thing to note is the hotel is pet friendly so may not be for everyone.

Our stay was very good the room was very clean and staff were good when we asked for extra pillows, the reception was very good and was helpful, breakfast was very good with a good selection.

Check in person was excellent. He ensured we were aware of what benefits we were entitled to even volunteering to ensure that a breakfast was available on our departure before the kitchen formally opened. Otherwise the hotel is no frills but clean and serves its purpose for the odd night

The hotel is well located in a busy modern designer precinct and close by to the Old Historic Port of Portsmouth.
The room was more than adequate for our needs with one exception. The room was a double for two people occupancy, but only one chair provided. However, no different to other hotels we have stayed in. Maybe one day the hotels will realise that both occupants require to sit down.
The staff were excellent, very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Even pointed out which restaurants, in the area offered discount to guests of the hotel.
The breakfast, which was included in the price of the room was excellent. Although a buffet, it had a very varied range to suit most diners and appetites

Good place to stay if you want to be central. Parking is in the main car park underneath the shopping mall. Check in was easy and quick. The only minor issue is breakfast. Not enough tables and the quality of food wasn't great. Some residents had nowhere to sit anf i think you could split some of the tables for four into two's so that more couples can sit separately. Never easy when strangers ask to share your table. The ground floor are also had a funny smell as you walkied through. Not sure what was causing the odd smell. Our room had a great view of spinnaker tower. Would stay again but hope you sort the breakfast issues.

Only down side we asked for a beer glass for room & what she gave us can only be described as disgustingly filthy! We washed it with water in room and dried with white towel & towel was brown.

Asked for glass for Room reception happily obliged. When we got to room it looked filthy so wiped with water & white towel and shocked by colour of towel! This is why people get sick!

We had a room with a view of the Spinnaker Tower plus a sofa bed for a bit more room. Perfectly fine for our one night stay on a Sunday night and very central for tower, boat trip , dockyard, outlet stores etc. We tried Pho ( vietnamese style) just on the front of the Gunwharf Quay and loved it for our evening meal. Parking easy in Gunwharf Quay and the hotel validates your ticket so you don't have to pay to park your car. Just remember to use your room key card first to activate the lift in the hotel!

Not so good, the room was very small, no table I had to use the window sill to put my make up on. Only one working plug socket and had to use my own extension cable for my own spot light to put on makeup and cleanse my face at the end of the day.
Being disabled I had to use the fold down seat in the shower and had no space with the shower curtain being far to close and felt very claustrophobic fighting with the shower curtain to get washed.
The room was tired looking with virtually no facilities, difficult entry and exiting the room.

Overall a great place to stay.
Perfectly located for GunWharf Quays and the Historic Docks.
Parking free for 24 hrs in GunWharf Quays and then £2 a day if you take your ticket to reception and have it validated.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, offering guests lots of information and places to eat and shop in the Quays. Many vendors are affiliated to the hotel and offer discounts if you show them your room key.
The double room was clean and has the usual amenities for the price point.
Only issue we had is with the beds. Not comfortable enough for us but it’s personal preference.
The breakfast had a good choice and was reasonable enough.

We stayed with our 8 month baby and the staff were great. They really accommodated us well and were always very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was yummy too.

I changed rooms four times. Ended up in one which stank of smoke and had a sofa bed taking up a large part of the room. The curtains didn't fully close either. I had an early start and was assured by the manager I could get breakfast at 0600. I couldn't.
For the price £129 it was appalling and I will never stay there again. I visit Portsmouth regularly and will try a different hotel next time.

Great service as always. Find the beds a little uncomfortable- premier inn beds are better - would like a shower cubicle without a curtain - perhaps bathrooms could do with upgrading. Love the hairdryer, iron and board. Love the fact we can get free hot drinks and pastries on the reception area and there are things for children to play with. Always very clean and in an excellent location.

Good walking distance to the ferries, train, beach and museums. Parked the car up for the entirety at £2 per day. Free breakfast was OK. Plenty of places to eat in the evening. Tesco express next door for snacks/lunch.

There was no soap in the dispenser and the shower plug was blocked as was the sink. Hairs were coming back up.. off putting. Breakfast was lovely, parking was easy and free.

I booked this hotel as a pool was listed as one of the hotels facilities. Upon arriving, the receptionist said that there was no pool. This hotel is still listed as having access to a pool, so I'm not sure where the pool was. The receptionist wasn't forthcoming with the details. The breakfast was plentiful and the parking very cheap.The proximity to Gun Wharf a bonus. The day we stayed the roof leaked due to a storm (October), and there was no heating or hot water. We were given a late check out as compensation. An okay stay marred by the leak and no pool.

This hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment. Tired, dated and dingy rooms - my son asked me if I was in hospital - he was spot on - it was like being on a side ward. Staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was really good.

The cleaners had clearly seen that our room heating wasn’t working so gave us a plug in one but when we arrived room was freezing cold baring in mind it was freezing outside aswell. So we plugged the heater in and it barely warmed up and we couldn’t leave it on over night as it’s a fire hazard so had to sleep on the freezing cold woke up even more cold than we started the evening . And our room door we had to slam to shut and we only noticed this in the morning so the door possibly wasn’t shut fully all night

Not as good as normal we had a really small bed this time, small double, the room was way too hot couldn’t get it lower than 21 degrees so slept really bad both nights, breakfast items kept running out. Wonder if we were given this room as used Tesco vouchers to pay rather than cash? Shower had no power couldn’t get shampoo out of my hair. Won’t be returning

Really uncomfortable bed. Hotel room generally in poor condition. Quite good staff but that does not make up for the very poor quality hard product. Probably better off staying in the Travelodge down the road for half the price.
