Exit directly out to the old city. Was then only a 5 min walk or less to the Dom.

Stayed two nights to visit Passau. Was allowed to check in an hour early. Room was nice. Comfortable bed and very soft pillows. Nice breakfast. I had some minor issues with the WiFi coming and going, but it worked about 90% of the time. Unfortunately, it seems the hotel is renovating the second floor (my room was on the third floor), which lead to some construction noises starting at 8:00 a.m. I am a morning person, so the noises were not too bothersome, but if such noises bother you, check with the hotel first to see when the renovations will be complete. The hotel is about 12-15 minutes from the main train station. I walked, and I enjoyed the walk, but if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to take a cab. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Great location and large rooms and large bathroom. Very comfortable with ample amenities. A good buffet breakfast made an excellent start to each day exploring Passau.

Great value for the money! Hotel is in perfect location for old town Passau and river cruise moorings. The hotel was quiet except for a bit of traffic noise if the window is open. When window is closed it is quiet. Good size rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was awesome! And the wifi fast. We would stay here again! Close to old town and where the river boats dock.

The hotel is fantastically located across the Danube river, in the middle of the old city, with direct access from the second floor to the city. It is quite nice, beds are great and bed-linen white and crispy. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, we were surprised by its variety. All in all, a very pleasant stay and good value for the money.

I fully enjoyed my stay. Room was great, staff was super friendly. Breakfast was terrific and the Internet connection worked!

The location was convenient to the train station and located near the river. The breakfast was good.

This hotel was ideally situated for access to the Danube quays and the old town. We had a room (on the second floor) with a door giving access directly to the main street linking the sights of the old town and the shops of the newer town. The location was quiet and was near several good restaurants.

Great Hotel with many floors and exits both to the City and water side. Great view from higher floors. Neither fashionable or fancy, but solid and German quality, good service and Perfect for a stay in Passau.

After an overnight flight to Munich from Canada, we needed a hotel in Passau the night before a late-day sailing for a bike and boat trip on the Danube. The Koenig proved the perfect place. The location could not have been better: facing directly on the river, it was an easy 15-minute walk from the train station; our room overlooked the day-tour boat docks and river promenade; lots of restaurants and all the Passau attractions were just out the door; and, depending on your departure dock, it was just a few minutes to many of the boats. The Koenig was severely damaged by the record 2013 spring floods but the good folks at the Koenig have done an amazing job of cleaning up the mess, completely rebuilding the dining room and getting back into operation, although the lobby (including bar and reception desk) were still missing. There was not a hint of the damp, musty smell that lingered in other water damaged buildings along the river. The room and beds were comfortable, the breakfast was stylish and plentiful, and the staff were extremely helpful in looking after our luggage before our sailing, ordering a shuttle to take us to our ship at Lindau, etc. I booked this hotel 4 months ahead of our stay, and everything about the Expedia.ca booking went exactly as planned. I would highly recommend the Koenig to anyone wanting a stopover in Passau.

Comfortable hotel in the city center but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. It is next to the pier which is convenient for the boat trips on the Danube and many of the hotel rooms offer beautiful views of the Danube. I stayed in a single room which was far larger than what most other hotels I stayed in around Europe would offer and was comparable to a well-proportioned double room. The room was comfortably furnished, light and quiet with a pleasant, if unimaginative, decor. The reception staff don't speak much English, the same applies to many other places in the city. Breakfast was ok, although nothing to write home about and the service was a bit gruff but efficient nonetheless. Overall - comfortable and well-located place to stay for a short visit to the city.
