The staff are charming and helpful. This hotel smells devine: you will breathe in a special fragrance that is elegant and fresh. The location is fabulous! We walked everywhere and felt safe as two women. The breakfast omelettes and fresh fruit were so delicious.

Loved our stay at this hotel. Special thanks to Tomas, who was so very helpful and kind. After stowing our bags when we arrived early, he recognized that my husband’s CPAP machine would require a transformer, he was proactive in securing this for us. He is an absolute treasure!

Gym is very small and equipment is not very good. Lost water on a busy Saturday afternoon. Overall I cannot recommend this property

Affordable and well located near Buenos Aires city parks, buses and taxi.

As this was our first time in Argentina, we deeply appreciated all the attention and care that the staff gave us. I love the authentic furnishings and the history behind this hotel. To us, this hotel felt like home. We stayed there twice on our trip. Thank you Melia Recoleta. You are the best!

Great area to stay in. Near lots of restaurants. Glad it was recommended to us!

This is a very nice boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood near many parks and small shops and cafes. The hotel has a nice small bar with food service along with nice breakfast.
The front desk staff was very attentive and registration was quick. We stayed here one night before transferring to the nearby cruise port for our two week cruise out of Buenos Aires.

Mara at front desk sweet & efficient.
Concierges extremely helpful with luggage, getting an Uber & taxi.
Loved the rain shower hot water. Comfy bed & pillows & linens.

This hotel is rated 5 stars but doesn't meet that category. The rooms are small and the bathroom also relatively small. There is construction on a building next door which is very noisy and goes on all day. The breakfast room is in a cellar and quite dark.
Service was, however, exemplary. We were overcharged to pay on arrival but this was later adjusted and a refund given.

If you know Melia as high class hotel be aware this is not it. Old, smelly, bad service, queues and poor breakfast. Nothing you usually expect from Melia. We tried to upgrade the room at least and they asked to pay 400 usd for the upgrade per day even though the price difference on hotels was 50 usd and booking the new extra room of the higher category here was 250 usd. They said the system does not allow to do upgrade with other price. However when we needed to extend for one more night they willingly gave us same rate as on hotels so they save on commission and even gave us free upgrade just for that night, thank you very much. No more trust to Melia unfortunately.

Excellent hotel in a beautiful area. Fabulous and reasonably priced food. The staff is professional and very accommodating. I am returning again after my cruise and greatly look forward to my stay. Thank you, Meliá Recoleta!!

Every time we came back to our room the door was open, even though we had checked it prior to leaving. It was very disconcerting. Check in was very slow and seemed to take forever. While the location was great I’m struggling to understand the five star rating. Not impressed with the breakfast and they served terrible gluten free bread. Buenos Aires has excellent gluten free bakeries. We also stayed at Magnolia Hotel in Palermo which was only 3 stars but we liked it much better.

A perfect stay in a lovely area. We particularly enjoyed the basement Jazz Club, visiting twice during our four night stay. Fantastic performances both days. The hotel is charming and the staff make you feel very welcome.

Great location but a very old hotel. Uncomfortable rooms (small bathroom, tiny desk and side tables and an annoying light on the window that stays on all night). The breakfast room is in a basement with no windows/natural light and a loud piano, the omelette person was there only one of the 4 days I stayed. Check out took over 20min.

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff, clean hotel, safe area in Recoleta. Nice room of a decent size, firm but comfortable bed, nice sheets and pillows, air conditioning and fridge. Our room was quiet even though all rooms are very close to the elevator. Breakfast was great. Cambio just across the road to change dollars to pesos (must do for best rates). 2 really good restaurants next door Fervor (more upmarket, fish & steak) and Sanjuanino (locals & empanadas), so good for not having to walk too far at night. Worth every penny for hotel to organise pickup at airport rather than take an unsafe, tiny, not very clean taxi.

This was my second stay after a five night stay last week. This time I was in and older part of the hotel, and the room was somewhat rundown. It was not as nice as the room that I had last week. All other services were the same. The staff is very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. My only bad experience was receiving a $147 charge after my first day, and no one could explain what it was for. Other than that the Melia is an excellent property.

Melia Recoleta is a special place, it's the whole thing: the historical building, the staff, the neighborhood, the feeling you're in the heart of a Buenos Aires that keeps the best, besides and beyond whatever happens.
Don't miss the opportunity and stay, and enjoy.

Elevator kept getting stuck

Maid was very good
Restaurant bar food and service was very good but the air conditioning leaked onto us while having lunch

Beautiful hotel, great room and excellent service. The bed was a little soft and no coffee service in the room. Otherwise a wonderful hotel.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel was centrally located in nice neighborhood. Easy to walk to nearby public parks, stores, restaurants and area attractions.

Excellent location. Walking distance to most of the main attractions, Recoleta, Av. 9 de Julio, Malba Museum, etc.
The only negative issue we experienced was the lack of International news on cable TV. They did not have CNN (in English, however they had it in Spanish); BBC; Fox, or any other foreign news channels. For a well known hotel chain such as the Meliá, they need to implement this a.s.a.p.

The location was excellent, the staff were excellent, the manager or owner was extremely friendly. I would stay there again in an instant.
4.0
Good location. Close to a lot of walkable sights.

Got the full Buenos Aires experience staying at the Melia. Even made better if you pay using the blue dollar. Breakfast in the Jazz Club is a nice experience. My only complaint was the AC while working did not cool the room to 18c or anything close to that.
