Only problem was no cover for the window over the balcony door.

We had a lovely stay. The hotel was under renovation of some rooms but overall the staff were wonderful and the view was stunning.

Stayed for 2 nights. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The location and view were great and the staff was very kind. Bad part about it is the walls are paper thin and we were unlucky enough to have an adjoining room with a couple who were screaming at each other so loud at 2am the first night, that staff had to bang on their door to tell them to knock it off. Second night somebody was playing music extremely loud on a different floor. So, if you're hard of hearing, this place is perfect. Otherwise, bring some earplugs!

I asked for a room that was on the upper floor for a quiet and restful stay. I was given a room on the second floor right between the maids closet and room with a toddler. The toddler was loud (so was the mom) and running up/down the hall. In the early morning, the cleaning staff bumped their carts around filling up at the closet. I asked to change rooms and was told that I would have to release the room I had,, and rebook...of course I was then told the hotel was full and the only room available was about $40 more per night. NOT happy with the desk staff, but the room was clean and well appointed.

Ive stayed at Schooner Inn for multiple visits. It never disappoints and is always a terrific value.

We really liked the location right in front of beach wish it would’ve been a little more updated but for a short stay and the price though was a great room will definitely stay again in the future and the staff was very nice and friendly. 👍

Very comfortable accommodations, only downfall was a little dated.

Bed and bath was clean. Plenty of towels and room was straightened every day.

This was a neat early 70s era beach front hotel right at the end of the Virginia Beach strip. Nice large beach window directly overlooking the beach provided a great view to wake up to. I’ve stayed in many of these older hotels in places like San Diego, Tampa, lake of the ozarks, etc and this was the cleanest one I’ve ever been in. It was obvious that despite the age of the property, the management takes cleanliness seriously and the units stay well maintained. The staff was very nice and we had a great stay. This hotel might not be for everyone, but if you like to get a more vintage feel and intimate experience with the beach this place is a great option.

Fairly nice room rented off season. Only soda machine was on 6th floor and it was broken. Toilet was so low to the floor that using it was very uncomfortable. Looks like it was made for a child to use. TV was very small. Whirlpool tub was nice and looked out over the beach. Low water pressure in the shower. Room was clean with a refrigerator and microwave and sink. Some glass and dishes were provided as well as dishwashing liquid and dish towels. Beautiful full length windows to beach with a small balcony for two plastic chairs over looking the boardwalk . Parking wasn't great. First hotel on the strip overlooking the beach and Rudee Inlet. On the other side of the hotel as you leave your room there is another nice view overlooking the boat harbor.

They are very friendly doing what they can to make your stay nice and comfortable.

Needs updated. Couldn’t even charge our phone without a wall plugin. It’s supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel and all you could smell coming through the adjoining doors was pot. Said something about it and they didn’t care. The toliet didn’t work so the desk attendant showed me how to work the inards and I had to do it to get it to flush. The cleaning crew that did our room was very good at cleaning

This hotel is gross. The plumbing doesn’t work, the shower didn’t drain, and our toilet kept backing up. This was an issue in both of the rooms we booked. Also, the rooms reek of marijuana and cigarette smoke that come in through the vents. Most of the front staff were nice, but the one we had the misfortune of dealing with was ignorant. Our room didn’t get cleaned either. The location is nice, that’s about it. Do yourself and favor and stay somewhere else.

This hotel is at the end of the strip and away from a lot of the hustle and hustle. Quiet and and perfect for our long weekend.

Schooner is always my go-to place to stay at VA Beach and was worth the price for the beautiful views alone. She's an older establishment, so a few improvements/upgrades could be made, but I'm at the beach for the beach, not the hotel. 4.5 out of five because I also kinda wish the curtains were two panels instead of one, but still enjoyed the heck out of my stay and will be back!!!

The front desk lady was nice. We turned the air on in the room and set it on 63 cool air. When we came back it was 93 degrees in the room. Bed was nice. Tv is little. Balcony was dirty and cigarettes butts were on it. Me or my girlfriend smoke. You get what you pay for I guess

My room was clean, the employees were attentive and kind, and the view was fantastic. Would definitely recommend a stay here for those looking for great quality at low cost.

The hotel was a great place to stay and very affordable. The staff was great and prompt. The view of the Atlantic Ocean was beautiful. I will stay here again if I return to Virginia Beach.

The staff ar the front desk were incredibly nice and very helpful. The room while dated was very clean and smelled fresh, not like even some of the more expensive hotels. The room was very spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The only issue for me was the shower was just bare walls. No soap dish, no shelf, no handle. Awkward for a 68 yr. old who has had 4 back surgeries. Great location and fairly priced.

The whirlpool tub was HUGE, and out in the open by a picture window with a view of the ocean, it was fantastic!

We made the last stop in this hotel just to rest up so our drive won’t be too long. I was so happy we did because the views and the weather was beautiful. Listening to the waves at night by the balcony was amazing. The sunrise was beautiful. I would definitely recommend.

Although you can tell the hotel is an older model, they have upgraded and it looks great. We were very pleased at how nice the room was. The whirlpool worked great. The view was amazing. New paint and new decorations made a great feel.

Check in was very easy the front desk person was extremely nice. The pictures match the room two double beds two eyed of stove microwave, safe deposit a small flat screen TV bath and shower combination. The first night the toilet stopped up called twice for maintenance to bring a plunger. Plunger was left outside the door no one ever knocked on the door found out when I was getting ready to go get ice. The only ice machine working was on the 6th floor. The second day left out came back a little after 6:00 p.m. and found out that both of my keys were not working. I'm really cold outside had to go back down and get the keys to operate. Walls are thin you can hear above you below you and very next to you. Overall for the price and for The view and for the cleanliness of the room I enjoyed my stay.
