The place is 200 m from Playa Chiquita entrance (cars can only go about 100 m, then it's end road and you have to walk anyway).
They have a nice restaurant inside the property with really good food and you can avoid the crowds in town.
Excellent place to rest and the staff is super kind.

I stayed at Namu for 6 days, which was too long.
I have some comments on the Lodge, specifically, and the area, generally:
If you've already booked, Namu is a lovely place. Compared to most of the others (especially within this price range,) it is the best option.
Namuwouki Lodge:
- It is a bit tired and could use a deep clean, but is quiet and private
- I had 2 pillows, one was basically a bag of lumps and the other was cardboard
- The wifi does not work in the rooms, only in the common areas
- The staff is lovely and friendly
- Very happy it had a pool, you will definitely need to wash off after the day, as it is incredibly humid at all times
You will need a car, if you want to do most of the activities advertised. You should rent a bike and go to Manzanillo.
The area, itself, is a bit gross. Everything is dirty and dated, there is visible garbage along the side of the road, cabs will harass you if you walk into town and overall it feels unsafe. It's hot and humid, but rarely sunny. The sun, when it is out, sets at 5pm, which makes the day quite short.
The lodge is not great for solo travellers (as otherwise advertised,) due to its remote location and inaccessibility. If you are going to travel into town at night take a cab.

The place is amazing, the location and the staff is great, i had the best sleep in months or even years, the silence and nature is incredible. The place and the food is also very good. I have nothing to complaint about.

The food at the restaurant was very good.
The pool area very nice.
The accommodation is unique in the fact that they can accommodate 5 adults.
Very good value for your money.

The rooms they give us was not the same in the pictures, at the end of a long walk near old cars, smalls, we change it for a $30 charge more a day, not hot water the first day, not pillows in the chairs on the porch, as the pictures, not internet or very limited. No breakfast included, old towels, a very bad experience st a exprensive price. Will not recommended to anyone. Management aloof

I booked this place because I was going to a triathlon event, my surprise was during checkin when I was not allowed to get my bike into the bungalow and was not offered a secure option to store it during the only night I was staying. Hotel policies and restrictions are not clear, it appears that they come up with their own policies once you are there, could not speak to the management and explain. No late checkin either. There are other more friendly places all over the place, I learned this while discussing this with other friends during my stay.

It was fine, but not a great value. Our party was going to be 3 or 4, so I decided to book a Family Room which has 1 queen bed and 3 twin beds (sleeps 4). Surprisingly, the base occupancy is only 2 guests, so with the extra guest fees our rate for 2 nights went up $100. The extra fees are justified when breakfast is included but in this case it wasn't! We were also disappointed to see there was no refrigerator in the room, despite it being clearly stated in the room description and having seen it in the pictures. Also, I suggest providing umbrellas for guests. Most of the paths leading to the bungalows aren't covered so if it's raining you get soaked. When we were ready to check out we had to wait a while for the rain to subside so our luggage wouldn't get all wet. Finally, there's no wifi signal in the room. So we felt we we're paying a premium amount while receiving the bare minimum.

Spacious and clean cabin. Was nestled in lush greenery. Property area was filled with plants/wildlife and insects. Would recommend to anyone! Restaurant was decent.

Staying at namuwoki is amazing - namely because your room is clean and comfortable in the middle of the jungle.

Great people at front desk! Very private hotel with very easy access to best beaches. Breakfast is ok, but there are many great places to eat around there. Great place to enjoy nature!

This hotel is simple but great! We fell asleep to frogs chirping and the rain falling. Room was very clean and has hardwood floors. Playa Chiquita is walking distance and we loved that. Restaurants are also nearby. We also took a five dollar cab ride to downtown and hung out there too! This hotel is serene, peaceful and quiet.

Booked this hotel purely based on photos we saw online. When we arrived we were disappointed to find it wasn't as charming as photographed. The location is great, and the staff very friendly and helpful, however the accommodation was lacking.

Very quiet, great if you want to relax.

We recently stayed at Namuwoki Lodge for a week and overall it was a good experience. The cabins are basic, but clean and very unique as we expected. The WI-FI worked well in the common area, but there is none in the cabins. On any given day there were half a dozen howler monkeys overhead. We saw a couple different frogs, spiders and a huge praying mantis.
Get cash out of one of only 2 ATM's in Puerto Viejo when you can. They run out of money frequently and many places in the area ONLY take cash. The beds were uncomfortable. The included breakfast consisted of fresh pineapple, quava or mango and watermelon, tea or coffee, cereal, eggs, toast, crepes and usually sausage (hot dogs), ham or cheese. There are plenty of other spots within walking distance, a short bike ride or taxi ride away. There is a great little market right at the end of the driveway used to access Namuwoki and they do accept credit cards there. The majority of the restaurants in the area do not accept credit cards and open for breakfast, close for lunch and re-open around 6 p.m. for supper.
Playa Chiquita beach was approximately a 10 minute walk. The sand was amazing and the Carribean Ocean had good rolling waves for body surfing and boogie boarding.
We used a combination of the public transit bus (MEPE), taxis and walking to get around which worked fine. As a pedestrian or cyclist you DO NOT have the right of way! Bring a flashlight as some areas are very dark after sunset at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Namuwoki is a unique cottage type setting with private cabins. The jungle floor and howler monkey's overhead were amazing. The staff spoke limited English but fluent Spanish. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable and reminded me of sleeping on a futon. The bar fridge is big enough to hold 6 drinks and not much else. Breakfast was fresh pineapple, waremelon, guava or mango, eggs, sausage (hot dogs), ham or cheese with coffee, tea, orange juice and milk, cereals and crepes. We only ate supper (shrimp, seafood with the white sauce) there once and 3 of the 4 of us became very ill afterward. The staff will not volunteer assistance, but will help if asked. Bring cash as Puerto Viejo is quite expensive and only has 2 ATM's that frequently run out of money. Most restaurants only accept cash. Bring a flashlight! It is very dark after 5:30 p.m. We used taxis, walking and the public bus to get around which worked fine. It is approximately 4.5 hour drive from San Jose to Namuwoki. There is a store at the end of the alley used to access Namuwoki and they have most groceries you may need and they accept credit cards. Many beautiful beaches in the area, Playa Chiquita was our favourite and is approximately 10 minutes walk from Namuwoki.

The hotel was hard to find as the signs where not well lit. In addition, the hotel directions on the website don't provide much help in locating the hotel. Lastly, the fish that we where served was not scaled. However, the ambience is nice.

This place is awesome! Maribel was great helping us with places to go for lunch, also with bikes and general tips. Rooms were super comfy and clean, all details taken into consideration. Definitely coming back to this place!
