Great place, less than a 10 minute walk to Zuma beach. I hope to return to Malibu and if I do I’ll definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay, it was perfect! And they are even sending me back my tennis shoes that I left there. Such good customer service!

Great front office staff, fun and friendly. Small room with patio balcony overlooking pool & grass area. Close to beaches

Adorable hideaway. Staff was super friendly. Room was very clean and had a comfortable bed and faux fireplace. Beautiful view and roomy. I will definitely stay again.

Beautiful and quiet place to stay right off of the PCH. Super nice accommodations and easy access.

Cozy, quiet room with electric fire place. TV wasn’t hooked up. Tub faucet brace was damaged where it came out of the wall. Jets worked well. Otherwise, good night’s stay.

Only real issue was the tv. 2 remotes. One option - roku bs tv. Did they have cable and the staff didnt know how to put it on?

The lady at the reception was great, but unfortunately the property is not well maintained. We booked an ocean view suite which looked nice on the pictures, but not in reality. The ocean view was pretty much a small sliver of far far away ocean view over the roof of the other rooms. I would not say that what was advertised was an ocean view at all. The room we got was outdated, dirty, the electrical sockets couldn't hold a phone charger as they were quite loose, the fireplace didn't work and it had a warning tape over the switch. There was a heat/AC until in the room which didn't work either which made our stay very uncomfortable as we were super cold all night. Also, the bed and the pillows were very stiff.

More reasonably priced for the area. Close to beaches and shopping. Our room was small but very clean with updated bathroom, newly painted walls. Parking tricky as property is on a hilltop. Only negative was some plantation shutters that needed repair and some handles that needed tightening. Very nice inn keeper.

Free upgrade to renovated room, nice staff.

Location was good and room was clean and comfortable. Slight view of ocean was lovely. Room wasn't cleaned after 1st night of two night stay. Front desk said there was no cleaning staff for that day. Two broken shudders on windows. All night flood lights shown through our room at night. Overall, it appeared the hotel had seen better days and was operating on short staff.

We left after seeing the room. The building was covered in spiderwebs, dirt, and rotting walking up to the room. The room had not been serviced in any way. Sheets were slung across and linens wadded up. There was a sheet covering the couch. Newspapers covering a leak and obvious signs of flooring being warped. Bathroom was disgusting as well. Front staff was nice but total oblivious.

Great place. Clean and cozy. Close to Zuma beach. I stayed with a dog. coyotes were howling right outside the hotel on both sides of the room, my dog was disturbed and barking a lot. It seemed like they’re just behind the door on parking lot. I’m not used to be so close to wildlife and was really scared to step outside after dark. Other than that place is great. View is amazing.

Needs to update security. I felt unsafe due to the lack of security.
I also have an SUV and got stuck in the parking lot

Hotel is close to the beach and fairly quite at night. Unfortunately, the hotel restaurant wasn't open during my stay

Rooms need maintenance.

Property needs total overhaul. Mattress was so bad we left. Room condition was awful.
Not worth the $350 or any amount really.
Not on the beach btw.

The Ocean View Suite has dual pane windows with trapped fog/film inside the glass which cannot be cleaned. This creates a view worse than my winshield after a long roadtrip. The gas for the fireplace was not working, the bathroom mirror is cracked, the coffee table has heavy wear on the top and the laminate flooring is warped with wide gaps near the wall heater. My thought in general is when advertising a $300 Ocean View Suite, the room should be in Good condition, not deferred maintenance condition and you should be able to see the ocean clearly thru the windows. A couple positives -the bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of parking and the front desk service was excellent.

Overall nice stay! Except the room condition was not as good as we expected! Broken handle of microwave, old uncomfortable pillows and no hanger option in the rest room was really disappointing. We literally used chair to put on our dry clothes and later on for used towels as an option.

Easy to get too, and great views

The room looked nice but I killed a cockroach, and the fan in the bathroom is making a terrible noise and it was full of bugs and dirt. The patio is dirty.
3.0
Was on the noisy side partly due to road noise and partly do to poor sound insulation.

My wife and I had an amazing stay here and we will be back. Only complaint was the bed falling apart, the headboard was falling off and the bottom base made loud noises while getting on and off of the bed. Otherwise this was a great stay and we will be back very soon.

What a perfect place to get away for a night or 2. It was easy to find, perfectly priced and allowed us to watch the sunset. I just love this treasure!

We were so tired from being on a beach all day and driving and we just wanted to cuddle up in bed and watch a good movie together. The remote control did not work. This happened once before when we stayed at Malibu country Inn. We called the front desk and they came to our room and were unable to fix the remote control. It’s ridiculous. We asked for a $50 refund and have not received that yet. We will not be staying in Malibu Country Inn again!

I never write bad reviews. Everyone has an off day. But after being bold faced lied to I cannot help but warn others not to fall prey to this management. The room they called “the best room in the house” was dirty with stains on the sheets, coffee maker a mess,no soap, bird poop and hole in the deck and shabby renovations . Additionally they hosted a raging techno party blasting until midnite which was right near our room without letting us know and did nothing when we called telling them we were trying to sleep. They even admitted they meant to make us aware ahead of time but forgot and then flatly refused to give us any compensation at all for the sleepless nite and dirty space. When speaking to the manager, Hamid, he was so rude, so upsetting and downright nasty saying ‘we were just looking to complain ‘ but to my shame I did not check Yelp reviews and there is a reason they have a 2.8 rating with many saying same things I have. So do not stay here. It doesn’t even feel safe let alone enjoyable with this management.

It seemed as though nothing had been cleared in our “cottage room “ for quite some time. There were cobwebs on the light fixtures, a thick layer of dust on every surface, and I don’t even want to talk about what underneath of the bed was like! There were piles of discarded items (garbage) piled up in almost every nook and cranny on the property. You would think for the $600/night you would not have to arrive to a dirty accommodation with garbage piled outside! The parking was very challenging because the space is so small and so steep. The walk to Zuma beach doesn’t take long but the road is narrow and busy and there is really not much space to walk and NO lights if you’re walking in the dark you are really risking your safety. There was a private party going on on Saturday night so we had to listen to music pounding till early hours and I could barely stand the smell of all the perfumes and colognes that were drifting our way on the wind…
The front desk staff seemed friendly.

Malibu Country Inn is my go to accommodation when I visit SoCal. The location is great, prices are competitive, and recently renovated rooms are charming and comfortable. Will be back as a frequent guest.

Nice little inn on the side of the hill .. close to the beach and some good eats .. our room was good enough for what we needed. We had a standard king with no view or anything .. parking lot is a bit tight, but not their fault as it is on the side of a hill
