Was our first time staying at this Charella Inn and it was a great experience. This will be our new goto stay in Negril. The grounds are very well maintained, the service was excellent and the food was even better. All around an exceptional hotel right on the beautiful 7 mile beach!

Everybody is top shelf. The owner is there working and he is over 80. Ibslute the man.

Everything was great!

Great value and location. It is a small hotel and restaurant.
on the beach. The staff are the best except for a few of the younger restaurant waitresses who spend too much time looking at their phones. Front disk staff great and very helpful. Our room housekeeper was wonderful. If we need to change while she was there never a problem.
The guys at the beach were always helpful and anticipated your needs.
Our room needed a shower update, several times the water flowed over the floor. it was a bad design. We needed more lights in the room there were two bedside and one in hall.
We had a great ten day stay I would strongly recommend it.

The Charela Inn is a great option two thirds the way up Seven Mile beach. Its location makes it fairly quite.
If you are looking to party at night try somewhere closer to to the Negril township end of the beach.

Beautiful spot on the beach. Great rooms! Staff is outstanding. Jazz nights, Thursday and Saturday night, dine with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Make a reservation, busy on nights with music.

The room is very clean. The housekeeper does a great job. The room is nice. However the prices at the restaurant are expensive and the customer service can be better. People are not that friendly & customer oriented in comparison to the other hotels.

Charela Inn is such a gem. Glad I finally hot to stay here. The ocean front room was very spacious with beautiful furnishings. The staff eas very friendly with smiles for days. If you are lucky enough to engage in a conversation with the owner do it! Such a gracious host. Will def be back. If you go make sure to say hi to Kush the coolest german shepherd around lol

Location is great and the property offers free parking. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The property is quiet and cozy. However, it is a bit outdated. The bathrooms could use a facelift. It is not as modern as nearby lodging. However, Charela offers the essentials for a quick get away.

Property was great. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. House keeping was the best they clean my room on time and each time I go back to my room it feels like a new room. The life guard tyreek was very helpful great guy. Only person we dislike was the security on the beach . He doesn’t know how to talk to the guest plus he’s lazy with an attitude.

Our stay at Charles was overall great! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable! The property is centrally located on 7 mile beach, making good walks in either direction when leaving hotel. We would absolutely stay here again!

First of all. The location is the best in Negril. Second. The service is five star. Friendly and attentive. The on site restaurant and room service is great. Last but not least. The rooms are amazing. We stayed in an ocean view room. It was huge with an amazing balcony. Also quiet! We stayed during Dream week and as soon as we closed the door it was as quiet as you could ever wish. We loved our stay.

Needs more variety and needs to cater to a broader audience with the menu selection

We go spend time here at least once a year & our other family members go 2-3 times a year . Everyone treats us so well , we kinda are like family when we are there . A lot of locals come to stay here as well bc not only is it the best beach spot for relaxing & floating the day away the food is awesome . It’s not a 5 star looking hotel but it’s 5 star to us bc of the staff . From front desk to house keeping to ground keepers to kitchen . We love Charela .

This is by far the best option for proximity to the beach in Negril without the all inclusive ticket. It's a small Jamaican owned hotel with friendly staff and great food. We stayed in a Junior suite on the lower level that was about 20 steps away from the beach! You can see the famous 7 mile beach right from your bedroom and from the patio right out your room. They have shaded lounging on the beach which makes it convenient to sit out all day if needed. The staff will also serve you food right there if you don't want to leave the beach! There is also a pool if you want to switch it up. 10/10 experience for the traveler who isn't looking for a cookie cutter vacation experience. We didn't opt for the breakfast plan option, we paid each day for the meals. They have a wide range of meals from their a la carte menu and each night they may have a price fixed menu p/person as well. Just go. You will love it.

Beautiful hotel charming but need to have more customer friendly staff and amenities such as late night snacks or food if you just want to hang drink or eat with friends or family while looking out at the water . No gift shop rooms takes forever . Not much of a menu and breakfast limited

Great property. Loved the view. Loved the beach! Very reasonably priced. Friendly staff. I actually booked three rooms based on reviews on expedia. I was not disappointed.

Whenever my husband and I are in Negril the only place we'll stay is Charela Inn. The staff treats us like family. We've been coming to Charela Inn for years and will continue to come for years to come.

This was our 6th visit to Charela and each time has been great. Besides the perfect beach and being centrally located, the staff really make you feel at home and as family. Everyone from the owner on down always greets you with a hello and is there anything you need. Also, Charela must be doing something right because several of the staff have been there over 20 years.

Lack of snack dispenser.A microwave in the room would be very usefull.

The staff was pleasant and helpful, rooms clean and surrounding areas clean plus the beach was well kept.
The owner/manager is always onsite and that helps keep employees performing at their best.
The in room mini fridge is a big help as I could keep an abundant supply of water and coconut water cold.

Right on the beach. Under palm trees with a nice breeze. It’s the perfect spot for a restful vacation. The restaurant is a great place to start the day with a great choice of breakfast plates. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable and the staff is very friendly.

Our third-floor ocean view room in the new wing was nice though narrow. The bathroom was large and nicely appointed. The hotel is well-located in the heart of the best and safest part of Seven Mile Beach. The on-site restaurant was lovely and the food was good. The clientele was primarily 50-plus with some families sprinkled in. We liked that they were evenly distributed between Germans, French, Canadians and Americans. The whole place, especially the beach with its lush trees that provide necessary shade, had a comfortable, moderately upscale vibe that, fortunately in our view, also wasn't ostentatious.
BUT. It turns out that there is fierce competition for the shade, such that, at least in high season, one of your party will have to arise at 6:30 and go down to the beach and lay claim to some chaises, which also might involve negotiating (as it were) that process with one of the workers who supervises the beach. It also might involve, as it did our case, being told by another guest oozing arrogance that you had no right to put your stuff in an area that was, he maintained, reserved for his group by arrangement with one of those staff. And mind you, you're given no forewarning about this process when you check in or when you first hit the beach. Bummer! We figured it out, but it left a bad feeling.
Lastly, twice in the late afternoon when we needed to shower, there was no water whatsoever, a problem that was fixed as quickly and mysteriously as it appeared.

I cannot think of enough nice things to say about this resort. This was our first time to Negril & Jamaica in general and I had done an obscene amount of research for this trip. We switched hotels twice (Couples Swept away > Skylark> Charela) due to budgeting and to be honest I was nervous we were not going to be happy with Charela and it wasn't going to be nice or luxurious enough. I was humbled to say the least. While not the most luxurious or expensive hotel Ive ever stayed in there is something about its romantic, rustic vibe and charm that has made it one of my top favorites. The property is unbelievable- this stretch of beach is absolutely gorgeous, I'd wager that it is the prettiest stretch of beach in Negril. This place is so romantic. The staff was polite and efficient. There is the sweetest "family dog" named "Kush" that roams the property and beach and we were sad to leave. Our room was immaculately clean. We paid about $700 less per night than friends staying at CSA and our room was twice as large with a HUGE two person tub, a balcony overlooking the live music stage, and beach. The restaurant? 10 out of 10. The absolute BEST Fresh flaky croissants and ham and cheese omelets served to us each morning on the beach or brought to our room. Eating the most decadent Chicken Alfredo pasta while listening to the band and the waves crash just steps away is a core memory. I never thought I would MISS a hotel as much as I do right now.

I loved staying at the Charela Inn. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We ate many meals there and enjoyed each one. The food service on the beach is wonderful! The rooms could use to be updated. Old furniture drawers were difficult to open and close.

The staff was professional and attentive. The property has access to 7 miles of beach. A wonderful stretch on which you could find most anything and meet most anybody!

The beach is the best part of this property. I would never stay here again. The resort is unusable and very unkept, foliage and shrubbery everywhere. We would only walk thru the resort to leave or go to our room. The food was very limited and not good so we found a resort up the beach which had excellent food so we would eat our meals there. The 1st room we had was not worth staying in, it was very old, outdated, smelly, insecure and had a skeleton key to unlock the door which I have not seen since the sixties, so we switched our room for an additional fee but was much nicer. The pool was surrounded by foliage and shrubbery so we never even used it. The staff was very unpleasant and unfriendly so we decided we would not spend another dime at this resort. We would leave in the morning to spend our time and money at a resort up the beach then return to shower, change clothes then go to dinner elsewhere. We would walk thru resort and return to room and would be in the room for the evening.
