Nicest spot on the North Fork. Every room has a beautiful beach view. The sunsets are spectacular and can be seen from every room’s deck or the well appointed restaurant. The hotel is a short drive to many local wineries and to Greenport which is a quaint local town. Take a short ferry ride Shelter Island and then another short ferry to Sag Harbor. This area is great fun all year round.

My husband and I stayed at Sound View Greenport for Columbus Day weekend so we could visit the wineries. Found the location convenient to the wineries and the restaurant/shops in Greenport. I know a lot of the cost of the room was the proximity to the water, which was right off our porch, but the room overall was not worth the inflated price for the weekend. We were in building 2 on the first floor and the floors on either floor aren't carpet (clearly to accommodate the sand) which allowed us to hear every movement of your neighbors upstairs at any hour. Also, for some reason there are windows in the entry doors with a flimsy shade that doesn't block the light of the parking lot/walkways and the bed is right next to the door. The bath is also tiny as you could get (with this ridiculous walk in closet next to it). My husband and I are used to moving in close quarters, but there was no way we could both be in the bathroom at the same time. If you want to stay by the water, be sure to just chuck any thought of cost and common sense design out the window before you arrive.

What I love about the Soundview after 45 yrs of visiting is the view it is always unforgettable.

The hotel is recently purchased and parts of it are renovated. Several issues to note: We were told that the hotel is full and they will call us by 4PM when a room is available. They did not. After our multiple visits to the front desk we finally got a room after 4:30 PM. There is hidden 11% "Amenities fee". Dont ask me what it is when the hotel is already taking a good chunk of money for the stay. The room rates are exorbitently high - while being on the eater is nice, be ready for an expensive stay. All in all, I suggest you find alternatives.

The facility was comfortable. A few upgrades: >needed more chairs at pool, beach >restaurant needs to stay open longer or offer more options on bar food menu >continental breakfast needs to be offered a little later than 10:00 a.m.

We just returned from a 4 night first stay at Sound View. We stayed in the 100 building, midway between the restaurant and pool. The view from our room and balcony was just incredible. The room was spotless clean…remember to request housekeeping at front desk each morning. Breakfast consisted of fresh bagels and pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruits, OJ and coffee. The entire staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. Seeing that we are seniors, the valet parking attendant even offered to drive us by golf cart to the pool and pick us up! Although we walked it, the offer was greatly appreciated. All in all a fantastic place to stay. We highly recommend Sound View and will be returning!

Everything was really enjoyable, staff etc. the one issue we had was the only Meat option they have on the menu at The Halyard, they ran out of. Steak. You need more than 1 meat option. We ended up leaving the restaurant and headed into town. No one seemed to care to much

Spectacular View!

Amazing!

We loved most everything about our 2-night stay. The views off of our private and very large deck on the sand were amazing and such a big part of what we loved about staying here. The location is great for relaxation and our junior suite was a great size to spread out and also enjoy the views with one whole wall being glass doors to the outside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the morning breakfast was very nice. The only minor complaint is the hefty resort charge which isn’t a flat rate like most other hotels, but instead a percentage of your room rate which varies greatly by room type. They also charge $25+ for nightly overnight self-parking literally outside each guest room, which isn’t listed on their website. In terms of serenity/lack thereof, you’re at the mercy of neighboring guests and their noise volume, as the private decks are only made private by a sail hanging in between, which is great for visual privacy but not a sound barrier by any means. All in all a great stay and we look forward to returning next year.

This hotel can do better for the price they charge. I was really excited to visit, but would not go again. On the top of everything I was told at 4pm that my room is not ready to b checked in, and the front desk person acted like that is ok. She just told me "you can wait in the restaurant". Really?? To wait after 4pm for the room I paid $650/ night.

Pool is not heated Beach side tiki bar opens at 5 PM Teeny tiny shower Last weekend We stayed at the Waters Edge Resort in Westbrook Connecticut for same three-night stay and we got music all afternoon and all night, three different restaurants to choose from, housekeeping every day without asking, beachfront with a heated pool that stayed open to seven or 7:30 PM

This was my first time to visit. What a little gem. Right on the water. Beautiful dinner with sunset.

The outside front of the hotel is updated however from the back balconies painting is needed desperately and maybe make a better walkable beach area - very rocky!

Didn't like that the rooms are not insulated for sound - can hear everything in the adjoining rooms.

Room is over looking the Long Island sound with deck, table and chairs right outside your door. Window allows you to see the view while inside. They offer a nice variety of local wine, beer and liquor plus snacks for sale in the room. Restaurant is a short walk away. Sound of the waves and view are breathtaking and relaxing.

An overall good stay, but main light fixture was not working in room 128. Limited breakfast service was disappointing. Limited afternoon pool time, closing at 6PM on a summer day… does not seem welcoming to people looking to cool down from a day exploring the area.

Nice rooms and quiet

The beach was beautiful. We requested early check in multiple times prior to our trip and day off. Our room was not ready until 3:50pm. I understand it’s busy but I received quite an attitude from the front desk when I inquired about it. During continental breakfast I asked one of the hotel employees if they had more sugar and he seemed annoyed. Just not super pleasant people working there (aside from the valet and one woman at the front desk who I spoke with in the morning) and made us feel like we were being annoying, meanwhile we are super low maintenance. The rooms were nice enough. No complimentary waters in the rooms which I find a little ridiculous at a beach hotel sort of secluded from any food/drink options. The restaurant was great for lunch and the service there was fantastic. We have stayed at the Harborfront and had great experiences so this was a little disappointing, though the beach was the great.

We came with a dog and a newborn. The hotel staff was very accommodating. It's in a great location - close to the wineries and close to downtown Greenport. I will definitely be coming back.

Beach access and views are amazing. Restaurant is very good and also with incredible views - the restaurant does suffer from some dampness smells which makes it less pleasant to sit indoors. Also, the older rooms are a bit shabby and showing a good amount of wear. Overall though, I really solid place to stay!

The view is wonderful, but the room is small and overprice. bathroom is tiny with not grab bars. Did not get the accessible room requested. No closet, no dresser, no CD player, no clock, no table, one chair. Step to deck was very steep and dangerous. I fell.
