We stayed the weekend in this home. It was very cozy and enjoyable. Close to downtown Harbor Springs and not far from Boyne Highlands. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were very clean. They look like they had been recently updated.

The home was very nicely decorated, cozy and well stocked. The king bed was quite comfortable (didn’t use the upstairs beds). We loved that we could cast our streaming services to the TV after a long day of hiking and exploring. Our dog was quite comfy. There were even dog toys and bowls! Matt and Melissa thought of everything to make the whole family feel welcome.
The location is excellent- just a short walk to downtown (less than 10 mins). So many wonderful places to visit just minutes away (don’t miss Tom’s Mom’s Cookies!). The kitchen had everything we needed including a blender for our morning smoothies. The rooms had extra throw blankets and beds had comfy pillows. This is a top notch rental. We’ll definitely be back!

Shady Pines was recently remodeled and was very comfortable to stay. It is located within walking distance of Main St of Harbor Springs which we really enjoyed. It was also a short drive to Nubs Nob. It was very hospitable for our dog, who also enjoyed the nice neighborhood walks. We would definitely stay there again.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Shady Pines. It was updated, clean, and very comfortable. They had everything we needed and then some extras like coffee, shampoo etc. and even a basket of extras in case we forgot anything.
We appreciated having the infant/child items available so we didn't have to lug everything and it was a doable walk to downtown.

The place was very well prepared and laid out. Conveniently located within an 5 minute walk to downtown or a wonderful grocery. Clean, well supplied and detailed. Everything I needed for my stay. Highly recommend.

The quaint town of Harbor Springs made a beautiful backdrop for the absolutely sweetest place around. Upon entry you are greeted with a kitchen that is welcoming and complete with all the necessities for an easy stay in this house. As we continued past the bathroom and laundry room we entered the very well decorated dining room where we had many fun meals and talks. There are a few rooms with tv’s and comfy seating along with a sweet front porch on the cooler evenings. The main bedroom has a great closet and bathroom attached. There were 2 bedrooms upstairs that were sufficient to meet our needs! The whole house had a lovely and welcoming aesthetic that we really appreciated. There was a fire pit with chairs and a large yard for kids to run and play on. Overall an excellent visit and we would return.

We had such a relaxing and fun time in this beautifully renovated property. Blown away by the thought and care put in by the owners for how people can best experience this place. The mattresses alone made the property stand out from other rentals! The kids loved the toys, the layout was fun and we all felt very at home. The location was fantastic - you can walk to a cookie store downtown or do a beautiful stroll along the bluff with stunning views of the harbor. We will be back. Thanks for making it easier to travel with 6yr old twins!

This rental is exactly as listed. The hosts were very attentive to any communication and made sure we were checked in. The yard was great and the fact we could bring the dogs was such a plus for us. It was an easy walk to town which we did each morning. The home has everything you need with added little touches that made it a perfect rental and one that we look forward to returning to! We highly recommmend!!

We had a wonderful time! Location, cleanliness and ease of use all 5’s. Thanks for allowing pets! Kitchen has plenty of pot,pans utensils if you choose to stay “home” and cook. Easy walk into Harbor. Very convenient to get to skiing. When it’s available, we will have to book again!

LOVED everything!! Super clean, nice layout, close walk to town, good location to ski hills, all the kitchen necessities for cooking + a cupboard full of spices, games, comfortable beds and the house felt like home. I would definitely recommend and will stay here again. Thanks for having us!

Our family loved Shady Pines! Matt & Melissa were excellent and attentive hosts and didn't miss a detail in the house with making sure we had everything we needed. The home was recently remodeled and was super cozy and cute. I loved that it was clean and that it was dog-friendly (even though our pup didn't come up for the trip we know it's an option for next time! :-)) Would definitely recommend for families and/or groups with friends. We skied two days at the Highlands and had an all around great weekend away!

This is a great property! It’s an older home in a quiet neighborhood that has been recently renovated with modern conveniences and style. It is stocked with EVERYTHING that you can think of to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Seriously - the list of amenities is too long for this review. From a full kitchen, to kids toys, to a dog crate, and life jackets for the beach in summer, the list goes on… We were there for a ski trip and the property is only a 15 minute drive to Nubs Nob. In the summer it’s probably a short walk to downtown, although with the snow, it was just a few minute drive for us. The communication with the owners was excellent. We highly recommend this property and hope to stay another time.

We stayed here to have proximity to Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands. The house is old but tastefully refurbished. The property is clean and has dishes, mugs, etc. we didn’t cook a meal, just heated food.
Important things to know if that there is basically only one large bathroom even though the description calls it 1.5, it’s attached together. There is a dividing door but be ready to share the shower. Also, the heat in some places in the house like master bedroom and kitchen is very warm, but upstairs it’s cold in winter. My pre-teen preferred to sleep on the couch.
There is a small area to park one car.

We recently stayed at Shady Pines from December 26th - 29th. The house was located in an amazing location for skiing (we skied at Nub's Nob) and the house was beautifully renovated and wonderfully decorated. There was even a Christmas tree and tasteful Christmas decorations that made us feel right at home! We would definitely stay here again.

We had the most wonderful time at Shady Pines! We received excellent communication with check-in instructions and the contact-less check-in was a breeze. The owners reached out after the first night to make sure everything was going well. They again reached out with check-out instructions. Their phone numbers were available for any concerns (but we had none!). The house was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked! We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals for the family. The kitchen had utensils, pots/pans, bakeware, spices, oil, etc. for cooking. We loved the Keurig pods and hot chocolate provided! The bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner, and soap/body wash available, and laundry pods were provided to do a load of laundry. The house was very kid-friendly. We loved the proximity to Highlands at Harbor Springs for skiing. The ski resort was amazing and just a 5-10 minute drive from Shady Pines. I can't recommend Shady Pines enough--we will definitely be back!

Our stay at Shady Pines was very relaxing and just what we were looking for. The house is decorated so nicely and all the amenities were a great touch. Even our dog loved the fact that the owners thought of him and left some treats:) We lacked for nothing during our stay and the owners were super responsive to all our inquiries. We loved spending our mornings on the front porch with our coffee and people watching. We also built a small fire, roasted some marshmallows and enjoyed an evening on the back patio. The town is so picturesque and we loved exploring and trying out the different places to eat. We hope to return again sometime soon.
