Family of 23, 8 households from different states, anticipated our 5-night stay, with ages ranging from 1 to late 60s. Initial payment was made in spring, fueled by promising reviews and rental listing set the stage 4-a memorable gathering. However, the reality of our rental fell short. The property's spaciousness & beach accessibility were its redeeming qualities, appreciated by ALL. We initiated communication w/ Mindy and refunded $193, half of cleaning fee. Then, were offered a departure on our 2nd night (12/23) with a refund. Despite the drawbacks, staying was the only option due to immense transportation costs, extensive planning, & the emotional significance of the trip, of losing our family matriarch last Christmas am, which was communicated @ the time of booking. Dirty bathrooms, waste bins, floors, main & smaller refrigerators, kitchen trash bin, and neglected areas in theater; bedding was unsatisfactory (hair, food stains on comforters); unclean towels were a surprise 4-@ least 1/2 of our party. We shared as many images as possible. Continuous back-&-forth became taxing, especially after learning no cleaning crew could address these issues during stay. We used the washing machine for cleaning existing dirty necessities, adding to our responsibilities. Mindy allowed an earlier check-in, though it was conditional on the cleaning crew finishing their work. Our surprise was palpable upon arrival, greeted by trash-strewn driveways & an overall disappointing state o/the hm

We really enjoyed our stay at this home. Sunsets were beautiful from the 2nd floor front balcony. The theater room was a huge hit, it was always in use. Heated pool wasn't as warm as we would have like it to be and you pay extra. We on used it for about 90 min over 2 days and had to pay a 3 night minimum. nice open kitchen/dining/living room area. The kitchen was fully functional only downside icemake and water maker weren't working. Communication was A1 Every email was answed in a coulpe of hours. A few minor hick up with housekeeping and 2 waterbug intruders, but overall it was a very nice experience. 8.5 outta10

We had a great time at the property. The only negative is there were ants on counter in kitchen, also a few roaches dead and alive. I would also recommend bleaching the towels. They were dingy. Also some of the bathtubs tubs were not clean.

I stayed at this property for a family vacation. The home was amazing and everyone enjoyed their stay. Communication with the host could not have been better. We will stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Salt and Light. The kitchen was well equipped. The pool was shaded for the afternoon, which was a nice escape from the hot, beach sun. We loved having linens provided. The kids enjoyed the theater room. We never had a glitch with the elevator, which is a necessity for our aging parents. It I were to suggest anything, it would be lamps for the bedrooms and a few furniture repairs, but we have already booked Salt and Light for next year!! Can’t wait to return!!

Property was very nice. Bedrooms and bathrooms easily accommodated our family of 21 plus 2 infants. Theater room was really nice and used every night. Pool was very spacious and though a little cold when we got in, was fine after we got used yo it. Internet was a bit spotty and inconsistent. The distance to the ocean was a bit of a problem and we probably should have rented a cart to transport people to the beach. Kitchen was very spacious and the place settings and utensils were more than sufficient. Couple more omelette skillets would have been helpful. Would recommend this property to any large family especially if there was transportation to the ocean or they were not big on going to the ocean. We had a great week - enjoying the pool area, ample space for three families (8 young adults 16-25) to spread out and enjoy wonderful meals! look forward to future stays at this house if we can.

We stayed at the house for a week with a group of 15 family members ranging in age from 6 to 82. The house was clean and well furnished on our arrival. Having the elevator was a lifesaver for the older adults. We loved the little extras such as the theater room, popcorn machine, large pool and beautiful pool area/swings. The walk to the beach was about 8 minutes but we did rent a golf cart to make it easier to take all the stuff to the access. Owner was very easy to communicate with and we enjoyed the small town of Ocean Isle. Will definitely be back!
