I am a frequent traveler and have stayed in numerous VRBOs and similar rentals. PRO: newly remodeled and beautifuly appointed 2 bedroom , 1 bath unit. Very clean and detailed. Friendly ( initially) owners who lives upstairs with a large dog. CONS: stairs to basement unit can get slippery when wet. Due to basement unit, expect no views while keeping all window shutters closed. These 2 cons are expected. Now the unexpected and not tolerable. Due to unfortunate construction of this house, the floors are absolutely not soundproof. Footsteps, dog walking, items being dropped on the floor, washing machine running, etc. Which all happened, made this a horrible unit for anyone that needs peace and quiet. If you are a light sleeper, you will be miserable. Quiet was the most important thing for me at any rental. During the afternoon I needed to take a nap and the dog was barking and running around, making the place a disaster and when I asked to keep it down, owner replied "making lunch"!? I asked a few times into the night at 10:30pm and no reply.. my daughter who is a light sleeper was miserable. Not all units can be turned into rentals. If you don't need peace and quiet, it's perfect. Otherwise I would look elsewhere..

Clean, quiet property, great neighborhood, perfect location (right close to the border). Even though the owners live upstairs, there was no noise or bothering. To get into proper Surrey, it was only about 15ish mins. I was able to find street parking very easily every time, just a few doors down from the house. Would easily stay again if we come back to the area.

What a wonderful basement suite and what wonderful hosts. I was the first to stay here, so lucky. It's clean, great location and I couldn't of asked for a better place. My hosts are so lovely and accommodating ..... would definitely stay again.
